I went to 312 Chicago for breakfast. The service was exceptional, our waiter was very attentive and personable. Food was very tasty with generous portions. I would definitely recommend it for a quiet and fulfilling breakfast experience.
Made a last minute reservation for a dinner with volunteers who were in town. We shared a few items family style - The buffala was delicious!0
We enjoyed our meals and the waiter staff was very helpful. The background noise was low so we could hear each other!
Service was awful. We waited an extended time for everything. Water, drinks, to order and then for our food. By the time we were done there was only one other table in the restaurant before the matinee. We barely made the show in time
Prior to attending the Sound of Music next door, we had a terrific dinner at 312. Obviously it was a very convenient place, but that’s NOT why we chose it. The last time we went to a play at the Cadillac theater we did pick it because it was so close. It was very good that time so we booked it again.
This time was even better. We will be stopping in, even when we’re not attending a play in the future. Everything was fantastic! Thank you.
Great place to go, especially if going to Cadillac Palace Theater
A very good restaurant located next to the Cadillac Theater. Theater pre-fixe menu was a great value. App+ entree+ dessert $44. Add wine pairing for additional $22.
This last visit, My one friend found an eggshell in her gnocchi. That was a bit of a turnoff. Typically, we have an excellent experience
Great service and food. In by 6 out by 7. Loved the upper level window view.
I'm more of a Quantity than Quality guy, but even so, I thought 312 was nothing special. A very small and simple menu, but I wasn't overly impressed with anything. The best part of the experience was the Buffala Appetizer... simply fantastic, actually. Everything else... meh. The location was conveinent for our show at the Cadillac Theater, and the service was friendly, but the food... not that great. I ordered a special NY Strip Steak that lacked serious flavor. It was cooked to Medium as requested, but it just wasn't tasty... especially for 38 dollars. Girlfriend has the Squid Ink Pasta Dish... she did not finish it. She said it was good, but not great. I guess the pre-dinner bread was decent, but how special is that? Sorry 312 Chicago... won't be back. I think it's you and me.
We were there for a birthday celebration, 312 did not disappoint!! Superb food and service! Thank you for the special treatment. Definitely a must go when you are in Chicago.
The food here is always excellent. The service is usually very good. But for my most recent visit I felt like the waiter forgot about us. We were there for a business lunch, but by the time we left we felt like we had been held hostage.
Very good. Appetizers, meal, and dessert were all delicious! Great option for dinner before going to the theatre.
The prix fixe was fantastic. Great deal.
Scallop appetizer was very good, crispy on the outside moist inside. For dinner we ate lamb shank and bread dumplings with lamb. Both dinners were excellent!!
The Caesar salad with blackened salmon was delicious.
The food was great but the service was extremely sub-par.
Excellent food and service. Consistently excellent!
Excellent Branzino! Went for pre theater dinner. The Branzino was the best I've ever had in Chicago. My friend lived the Salmon. Thumbs wayyyy up.
We once again enjoyed a great meal at 312 and will be back real soon.
We had a wonderful waiter and the food was excellent. We attended a show next door so
it could not be more convenient.
Some friends and I ate brunch at 312 Chicago this past Sunday, before a matinee show at the Cadillac Palace Theater, which is just around the corner from the restaurant. The vegetarian omelette was superb! I also enjoyed the coffee - not too strong, not too weak. The service was just the right combination of attentive, but not intrusive - very friendly staff, all around. I thought the prices were reasonable, as well.
This was my first visit to 312 Chicago, but I would definitely go back again! Overall, I would recommend this establishment to many for the food, and the convenience, if attending a show in a nearby theater.
I went to lunch prior to going to the Palace Theatre, next door. Everything was wonderful and the service is fantastic. Id recommend it anytime and also for a drink. They have a tv for sports too. Ill go again
Great Luis was awesome!
Nice restaurant. Very good food and service. Great location for before or after theatre.
Food was delicious. Especially enjoyed the grilled octopus appetizer. Finished off with an after dinner limoncello and it was the best I've ever had. Our waiter Frank was very personable and efficient.
We had an excellent meal before going to the theater. Pasta dishes were inventive, my sister and I both had different fish dishes and they were delicious. I definitely will be back.
It was another theatre date for us, a 3-hour drive into the Chicago loop for us. So we REALLY look forward to dinner and 312 Chicago didn’t disappoint again. We so appreciate a special evening - good service in a lovely setting with terrific food and wine. Carrot/ginger soup, salmon, sea bass, chocolate torte - lots to be happy about. Thank you!
I love this restaurant! So many choices in chicago, and I still find myself returning as often as possible because the food and team are incredible!
Staff was great. Got the salmon this time and was disappointed. Gnocchi and papparadelle was great!
Great food and they made it really special for my birthday with dessert and a cute postcard on the table when I arrived.
Restricted menu, but all items were good. The filets could have been better quality, but were prepared exactly as ordered - one medium rare, one medium. The chicken and polenta was very good too.
My friend and I LOVE 312. We have been there several times recently, before a matinee. The location is perfect, close to both the Cadillac Palace and the Ford Oriental. Twice, we have had a wonderful booth in the corner, and our waiter was terrific.
There is always a wine special, and the food is amazing. We usually split an appetizer and an entree, and that gives us more opportunities to try different things.
Although it is an Italian restaurant, there are many lighter fare options, and wines from all over the world.
If you decide to go before the theatre, allow yourself a few hours to enjoy the experience.
Great quiet table to talk 😊
Fabulous! They took us early
Place hasn't changed in 15 years. We went pre-theater. Not next time.
We wondered if they have heard of a Rug Doctor? Menu ok--same for wines. They have so many tables jammed into the space, it looked like one couple had to sit in the coffee station.
We have eaten here a few times before going to the Cadillac and Oriental theater (very convenient). Each time the food was and service was excellent. This time our server Marina made the service OUTSTANDING and the food was great as well!
We selected 312 because it was close to the Theatre. The menu has a good selection of brunch and lunch selections from eggs-benedict to sandwiches to pasta. We started off with an appetizer, Buffala, which was very good. Then we had the Rucoletta salad. Very good. The Lasagna was our main course. I am sorry to say that it was just warm and was very bland tasting. The sauce was thin and tasteless. Dessert was Crostata di Pesche e Mirtilli. A wonderful treat. Our observation is focused on the service, which was dramatically hurried. There was very little interaction from our server, he did not introduce himself. We felt very rushed. While the food was, overall, good, the atmosphere was more inline with a fast-food restaurant.
The worst Italian restaurant I have ever been too
The meal was just OK. Nothing that stood out as a reason to rush back. It was close to the Palace Theater which is a plus but there are better options in the loop for the price! The waiter was very attentive and we did like him - Miguel!
