We waited for a while, and still weren't introduced to our server. The server didn't explain the menu. We ordered after waiting about 15 minutes to meet our server. Someone else brought us our drinks, which were exceptionally good, but when we got our food we were low on drinks and not asked if we'd like another beverage until someone else came to our table. All in all, a good place to come on a date, just maybe not a first date.

the staff was wonderful, i phoned during an off hour to find out what time (5:30-6:00) I should reserve to dine in time for the 7:30p show at Cadillac Palace. Our party did a mix of Prix Fixee and off the menu, all was delicious, expect to spend at least $50 per person. The person who did the Prix Fixee wine course found all three wines outstanding (he's picky). One person has a lot of allergies/food intolerances, and was wonderfully accommodated.

We had 6pm reservations, but arrived about 15 minutes early. We were seated immediately. Since we were going to the theater next door, we ordered from the fixed price menu - a smaller number of options, but delivered in a shorter amount of time. What we ordered did come quickly. Everything - the beet salad, the pork loin and the flour less chocolate cake was delicious. We would definitely go again, but next would bring some friends so they could experience 312 as well.

My husband and I had tickets to see Beautiful that evening. It was so close to the theater. We had a great dinner then could just go next door for the show!

I am a regular guest for business lunches and I usually take the fish of the Day. Once again, it was a delicious and filing dish and the fish was perfectly cooked.

We had a lovely dinner here for our anniversary and before the theatre! The beet salad was excellent. Our meals were wonderful. We were also surprised with a complimentary dessert! Very nice! We were seated in a quiet booth and they had created a little Hapoy Anniversary sign for us. We really appreciated the special touches!!

We went before seeing Hamilton. I had the 3 course menu - beet salad, roasted salmon, and flourless chocolate cake. The salmon was excellent, the salad was very good as was the cake. My daughter ordered the gnocchi and it was excellent. We would definitely return, I'd give the meal and service a solid 4-4.5 stars.

We were back in town to see a Broadway play and decided to return to 312 for dinner. We’re so glad we did. The place was on the crowded side but the hostess immediately! took care of us - sorry I failed to get her name. Such a warm and gracious welcome from her as we came in from the cold. She took us to our table and our enjoyable meal began. Lovely ambiance, yummy food and great service from our waitress (we forgot her name) and the other staff. Even the manhattan was presented from the bar with a flourish. It all felt special and fun. The sea bass and maui-maui were nicely prepared. Thanks to everyone. We will be back.

Perfect pre-theatre restaurant! Location was excellent, valet parking was so easy, and the food/service was outstanding. I dined there with a large group of ladies and we requested separate checks. The waiter had no problem accommodating our request.

We have eaten at 312 Chicago multiple times and have never been disappointed. From the front desk, to the server and the food selections and quality everything was great! I would highly recommend this restaurant for lunch and it is very convent for theaters.

The service was excellent, the ambiance was nice, the food was good, but not great. It was overpriced, but the location was excellent, right next to the theatre, which we went to after dinner.

Great food, great service! The chef came around and introduced himself which was a nice surprise. Our table tried each dinner special and all 3 were delicious! We will definitely go back!

I took my fiancé out for her birthday, and when we showed up we were brought to a table with a “happy birthday” sign on it. It was a nice surprise! Our waitress was extremely knowledgeable of the menu, and her service was quick and friendly. The hostess was incredibly accommodating, as she generously offered to take our bags and check them in at the hotel next-door so that we didn’t have to carry them to the Chicago theater after dinner for the show we were about to attend. This way, after our show we just went back to the hotel and grabbed our shopping bags! The food at this restaurant was incredible - far exceeding my expectations. All around our experience was at 312 Restaurant was excellent, and I would strongly recommend it to anyone I know.

The fritto misto and the brussels sprouts dishes (as appetizers) were both a bit heavy with grease. The service was a bit mixed, with one of the diner's main courses arriving much later than the rest. It was awkward. The waiter did apologize.

Ate here before attending a play next door at the Cadillac Theatre. Seated promptly in upper level which had expansive windows overlooking Thompson Center. The menu was extensive and fairly priced. Service attentive but not obtrusive. Brussels sprout appetizer delicious and easily feeds two. Short rib with polenta very tasty but sized for one. My husband enjoyed his chicken sandwich. No room for dessert but they looked delicious. Noise level loud so not the place for intimate conversations, at least at lunch hour.

Nice brunch selections! We had friends outing to see "Beautiful" next door at the Cadillac Palace Theatre. Food was excellent as were the cocktails. Our server, Luis, was an absolute gem. We loved him. Make an RSVP for a Sunday pre-theatre brunch or lunch. It was packed by noon that day for a 2pm show.

 (Indiana)·Dined on January 7, 2018

We had reservations at 6:30. The service was fair, our waitress came once for our orders and we did not see her again until the bill came. We did tell her we had the play at 8:00 so our order was timely. However, our lasagna (regular menu item) was cold and lukewarm for others. Very different sizes and sauce portions. The other menu items were great according to review! We did not have time or staff available to send back for warm up!
For the portion, the childlike for some, others were adequate with the lasagna. Other items were fine!
The wine choices were good!
The idea of having everything right there was great but certainly disappointing. The food was nothing outstanding!
We had breakfast the next morning. Again, nothing outstanding but options were good! The food just seems to lack a lot of big flavor!
As far as recommending, I would only for convenience. If the food could gain some pizazz, even have some plain ole spaghetti served HOT with FRESH cheese would be great! We had the ole standard shake on and not even red pepper flakes! We couldn't ask for it because no one came back or was around after it was sat down by the kitchen staff!
Just my take, actually I am pretty easy to please but I thought 312 would be an upgrade in food and wine from the chains, not just price!!

First time ive ever had a "not great" meal at 312, but it was really my fault since the chicken breast plate was loaded with creams and other things that I wasn't anticipating. I should have asked the server to direct me to something light given it was lunch. 312 always a great meal, good service, nice experience. Just need to order smarter.

The only negative was that The Specials menu we were given was for lunch. When the waiter came to take our order, he told us that it was the wrong menu. The items we wanted were not on the dinner menu. However, what we finally ended up with was terrific!

As always, the service at 312 was wonderful. The grilled octopus was very tender and taste. The Tuna in my seafood soup was a little on the over done side, but the lobster, shrimp, muscles, and scallops more than made up for it. Great place to visit before or after a show to the theatre.

We had been to this restaurant some years ago and had been disappointed, but decided to give it another try. We went to the show next door at the Cadillac Palace, so it's super convenient. The staff is great, very gracious and we got a table in a quiet area as requested. The service was excellent and the food was delicious. I had a pasta dish (Bolognese) that was delectable. We will definitely return.
