Nice ambiance and bar area, Excellent service from Alicia. Was seated in booth with very little space between bench and table. Very close quarters, but could carry on a conversation. We all ordered salads which were good, felt chicken was over done on my Caesar. Tiramisu was delicious. Would eat here again and try a different item. Convenient location to theatre’s.

The food was excellent. 3 people in our group all had different entrees, which were all excellent. The atmosphere is a bit formal (i.e. not fun or unique) and quiet (which was nice). Not at all hectic, if that is what you are looking for a quiet, traditional setting. Our waiter was VERY congenial, but he virtually ignored us. The bread we asked for was brought by the busboy, but he didn't bring us plates or butter/oil to eat it. We couldn't get ANYONE's attention. Finally, I flagged down the busboy again from across the restaurant, and we got the plates/butter literally at the same time as our meal was delivered - by a different waiter (not ours). On the plus side, the food came reasonably quickly. But then the waiter never brought the refills on soda we asked for, and our water glasses weren't refilled until after we paid the bill. He was VERY chatty with tables that were liberally ordering cocktails, and we saw him talking with the mgr several times, but he rarely checked on us or got us what we needed. The place was not overly busy so that wasn't the reason he ignored us. It took forever for him to ask us if we wanted dessert, then forever again to return to see what we had decided. While the food was excellent, I wouldn't go back here because we felt ignored and unimportant. It wasn't the fun treat downtown Chicago we were looking for.

Staff were very professional and on top of service. Salmon was perfectly cooked with a deliciously crispy top. Portion was perfect and not overwhelmingly large. Tiramisu was what it should be. Perfect sweet treat at the end of the night. If you have a room booked at Allegro next door there is a direct connection to the restaurant. They also have a postcard in your room for a free pre-meal snack to wet your palette and glass of Prosecco. It was an enjoyable experience. I’ll definitely be back to try the rest of the menu.

It's been closed for a while and this was a first visit since reopening (I remember when it first opened way back when!). Waitstaff and service were excellent - two "nits": The first table we were led to had a chair with crumbs; we moved to the table next to it and when the water glasses were placed in front of us, one was clearly not clean. Granted, I realize everyone's understaffed these days, particularly in the foodservice business, so I'm not going to make a big deal out of it. Thanks

The only issue we had was paying our bill. We had 5 couples and wanted to split our bill by 5. They told us they have a system that only allows for a maximum of 3 split. Luckily we had some with cash and were able to adjust but it was disappointing. Food and service were outstanding, our server was Michael and he was great!

We chose this restaurant based on reviews on Open table. One of the first times we felt disappointed with our selection. Food was just okay, not what we were expecting. Calamari cold, shrimp was cut in quarters. This being said we are Italian so maybe we shouldn’t eat Italian food outside the house.

Chicago has so many places to eat and this one is just OK. They have a limited selection of wine and the first 3 we chose were not available. They explained they were changing their selections and suggested something. They did honor the price of our original selection. The food was fine. The booth was a little cramped - not easy to get or out and we are not large people. the service was fine too.

The server highly recommended the sangria on special. It was bitter rather than his advertised fruity, His response: “oh, I’m sorry.” The pasta bolognese was delicious. The chicken was tasty but overcooked, however the accompanied broccoli was fabulous and the mashed potatoes nice.

The food was good, burn everything felt just a little under seasoned and needed a bit of salt. Except the fried dough. That was amazing! The service was top notch. And the drinks were very good. Food needs a bit of fine tuning, but I think overall, I am glad it reopened and that it is close.

Alicia, our server, was outstanding--attentive but not hovering. She understood that my friend and I were catching up after not seeing each other for a while. Conversation level was noisy at the beginning (1pm), but gradually quieted down as diners left. Minor complaint--my seat in the booth was lumpy and I needed to wiggle around to find a comfortable spot. Overall a good experience.

Everything was incredible. The food, service, atmosphere, and overall attention to detail were what you would expect in a fine dining experience, which this was. My wife had the salmon and I had the halibut both cooked to perfection. The sides that accompanied them were great.

We dined here first in May, the week the restaurant opened for dinners. Our server told us to be certain to return in June because the menu would be expanded and different. However, the menu and wine list remain the same, extremely limited. The limited number of wines are expensive with no wines under around $68. We enjoyed a split of one of the pastas and ordered a separate entrée and meals were quite good. My hope is that the chef will eventually expand the dinner menu beyond a few pasta dishes and 5 entrée choices and do something to restock a decent, broad wine list.
