312 Chicago is centrally located the Loop Theater and Financial District. Every room offers iconic city views including City Hall, the Thompson Center, the Board of Trade and the Cadillac Palace Theater. The ambiance evokes the comfort and sophistication of a 1930’s supper club, but the style is pure, modern elegance with rich walnut wood and dramatic chandeliers.

We LOVE 312. We’ve been 8 or so times over the past 6 years. Never had a dish that wasn’t delightful - and the service and un-requested extras are always superb. The always-offered Prix Fixe menu with 3 courses plus multi-course wine pairings, under $65 per person cannot be beat.
The Caiciucco was perfectly seasoned and the clams and mussels cooked to perfection, the short rib/polenta appetizer was filling and flavorful. We really enjoyed our meal.
Good food, service, and will be back. Portions are good and staff is very attentive.
Solid good food, no one goes hungry! Room could use some updating as it felt a bit outdated for downtown.
excellent restaurant. good food and service. very handy to other attractions.
Scallop starter was fresh and delicious. Fritto Misto was made excellent with the inclusion of tomato peppers and fried lemons. Good choice of wines. All wonderful dishes in a wonderful setting.
Went as part of a couple pre-theater, Saturday evening. Likely the busiest time of the week. There are two floors to the restaurant, and at the street level the tables and booths are arranged so as to maximize privacy. So, even when that level of the restaurant is full, the noise level is tolerable. The menu was not extensive, but there was an adequate variety of fish/meat/neither, plus specials, so as to provide "something for everyone". The food was served hot, which isn't the case everywhere. The drinks from the bar were well mixed and the craft cocktails interesting (who would think to add beet?) Service was attentive. A nice evening all around and not our last visit.
Always wonderful.....Food, service and especially the friendliness of the staff...our favorite pre-theater/opera spot...We don't even talk about going anywhere else anymore.
outstanding! The food and ambiance, the waiter, the cost, all were very reasonable and food delicious! we will definitely go back.
We told them we had tickets to the opera, and so needed to be out of there by 6:30-6:45, and they said it wouldn't be a problem. They completely forgot and it was a total scramble at the end. We didn't get our check settled until after 7 and had to race over.
From the moment we walked in the door, it was a wonderful experience! Great service! The meal- delicious! The limoncello- best we’ve had in a long time! Highly recommend 312!
We have gone to 312 since it opened. It’s our neighborhood place. Consistent excellent food, service, and ambiance.
Food delicious, wine outstanding and service (waitstaff was Frankie) excellent
The food was excellent. We were there for their 21st anniversary special four course dinner menu, well worth the price of $45 a person. Each course was very substantial and extremely tasty. Our only concern was that we had to ask for our dessert course to go because we had show reservations and even though we were there an hour and a half before the show started but we would have been delayed if we had stayed and eaten the dinner course there. If you plan on going, plan on not having anything planned after your dinner that way you can enjoy it fully
I had the squash torteloni and my friend the salad/salmon combo. We were both very pleased. Service was prompt. this is a great place to go for lunch before the theater. I highly recommend.
A little noisy. E
The food was absolutely amazing and very well priced for a hotel restaurant. We liked it so much we had breakfast the next morning.
This was our pre-theater date this month
Seated right away, nice atmosphere , near the theater district - excellent service - food and wine very good
The Food was excellent, the Service was outstanding - the chef catered to our guests food allergies, the Manager was ON TOP of the activity in the restaurant - great experience - HIGHLY RECOMMEND.
I had read some reviews that service was indifferent, rude or unfriendly. We did not experience that at all. The maitre d' was very friendly and welcoming. The waiter was friendly and attentive as was the server who brought bread and water. They made sure we were served and finished in time for our show.
I had the prix fixe dinner, and all of it was delicious -- short rib on polenta appetizer, bone-in pork chop and flourless chocolate cake. My husband had the New York strip steak, and it was flavorful and tender.
Ambience-wise, it got loud at times, especially when a nearby table of diners started laughing loudly. But otherwise, it's a comfortable, cozy place to dine.
This is a good pre-theater place to go in Chicago. The food is always adequate/perfectly fine, if not fine dining. My issue this time around was that the service from our male waiter seemed cursory, disinterested, going through the motions. No genuine interest was shown.
Great atmosphere. Crowded with excited people, but still not too loud. Tables allow for privacy while still in a great community feel. Food was awesome and my husband got a free birthday dessert with a candle! Fabulous spot before going to a show.
Great post theater dinner. Miquel was fantastic. Very knowledgeable and good to chat. All staff were attentive and friendly. Will be back.
We went here before 2:00 play and requested quiet table. It was perfect for the 6 of us to hear one another. Everyone said their dish was great. I have been here numerous times for a quick drink or a meal. Consistent. I definitely recommend. Ps. I rarely write reviews but felt it was important I share 6 people agreeing on quality of their meal. Having made the reservations, I was nervous. Great experience.
Delicious food. Great service. Will definitely remember this place when we next come to Chicago.
Pre-theatre dining with a group of eight. Service was excellent. Beet salad and squid ink pasta were delicious! Everyone was presented entrees at the same time.
Great dining experience. Sumptuous food. Friendly staff. Nice, cozy ambiance.
I've been here many times and always enjoy the food, service, and general ambiance...to the point I usually dine here two - three nights per visit to Chicago. This last visit was the exception.....service was way below par and a huge disappointment since I'd brought a guest who had never dined here before. The bartender was our server....even though we were seated a good distance away....so the attention to detail was missing....big time. Very disappointed.
Excellent team treated us with warm and attentive hospitality...from the woman who answered the phone when we called to say we were running 10 minutes late (she was friendly and understanding) to the manager who greeted us and thoughtfully checked in halfway through our dinner (with a light and professional touch) to our server who had the right amount of friendly without intruding on our dining and conversation. It was a noticeably professional and enjoyable experience!
The soup and salmon were quite delicious.
My wife took me here to celebrate my birthday and we had an amazing experience. Not only was the food outstanding but the staff was absolutely superb. The location is close to most theaters and parking was easy at Allegro. We will definitely be back.
Delicious food that came out quickly. Quiet. Perfect after theater meal.
Wonderful food — shareable portions. Great waitstaff — I think our waiter was Frankie. This is one of our favorite neighborhood restaurants and we will be back often!
This was my first time to downtown Chicago and I selected 312 Chicago as one of the restaurants nearby to try out. The entry was like going into a grocery store - I believe they had temporary doors perhaps, but once inside, it was a different world. We did not notice large noise disturbance from outside (the rail goes right by). There were not a lot of people at the time we went so I can't speak to the level of interior noise. We were seated in an nice, small booth perfect for two people near an outside window. We came with a reservation and were immediately seated. The seats were comfortable and the noise level sufficient that we could converse. The service was good. The food was very good with nice bread options that came with the meal. My friend had a lamb dish that perfectly reminded her of her family's traditional mutton stew. I had the tortellini soup with a cheese platter. Both were very good. The staff seemed a little pinched in their behavior, and came by way too often to take away plates that we were not done with yet, but in general, we were satisfied with the service and very pleased with the food.
Midday weekday lunch with a colleague - reservation went seamlessly. Food was good (I had the barramundi - healthy, but tasty nonetheless) and service was attentive. Close to the office, so I will keep this place in my arsenal of places to take colleagues .
Great cocktails, and service. It’s been years since I’d been there, and it did not disappoint.
Had dinner before the theater, wonderful and attentive service and food recommendations. Our meal was delicious.
If I have lunch with a business colleague, 312 is a reliable place to take them with sufficient privacy and appropriate ambiance.
Service was great and food was delicious. I highly recommend this place to eat!
