The food was excellent. We were able to have a round table for 7 people and it worked out fine. However the service was TERRIBLE. Our Waiter was very slow and inattentive at times. Fortunately another waiter stepped in on occasion and took care of us as best as she could. The man who was our waiter was late in bringing wine, bread and the main course. Never got dessert because dinner took 3 hours and we decided to leave. This was a special occasion, a birthday dinner for a friend. The lateness and inattention took away from the celebration. Not Happy.

We had only been here for drinks previously so we were looking forward to trying their food. We arrived early and had a drink at the bar while waiting for friends. When we went to get seated, the hostess was nowhere to be found for about 10 minutes. As soon as we were seated, we were given menus and water and told someone would be right with us. At that point we heard a very loud noise and profanity coming from the kitchen. We waited at the table for over 30 minutes, not one person even looked at us. The tables on either side weren’t faring much better but they did have waiters. The one table said it took 45 minutes to get their drinks. Apparently there was some staff issues but it only would’ve taken a drink order and some bread to keep us there. We wound up leaving and having a very nice dinner elsewhere.

Let me start out by writing that we had a later reservation and called to ask ahead of time if we could come earlier. The restaurant was able to accommodate us and we did arrive at 630 rather than 745. However, we didn’t get our appetizers until almost 730 even though we ordered almost right away when we sat down because we were hungry. Even our wine tools about 30 minutes to arrive. The waitress was very nice but clearly overwhelmed. She explained they were a little short staffed and very busy. That was a busy weekend in Buffalo with graduation, etc. When the food finally arrived it wasn’t particularly good nor was it that warm. At this point we just shut our mouth and ate it. The waitress apologized for the long delay. A nice touch might have been to give us our second glass of wine on the house given how long everything took. The ambiance itself is pleasant but a little too loud in the bar area. We were sitting at high tops near the bar. I’m not sure that I will come back. Certainly the food is nothing to rave about. The lamb sliders were ok and the flatbread pretty good. But the chicken marinera was dry, the lobster linguine not good and the veal not worth ordering.

Not Enough room to write about the long wait for a table, even with reservations, terrible service and disappointing entrees. Appetizers for the table came out at separate times. We heard our waiter in parking lot angry demanding his paycheck so he could “get out of here” After that he never returned and different servers were trying to attend to us unsuccessfully. To add insult to injury, not one apology from staff for the less than pleasant evening we were paying for. When we mentioned to one of the waitresses that at the very least, the manager should have come out to apologize and see if we needed anything, we were told “I try to be positive”. Never saw a manager and never received one apology for the most unpleasant, expensive, negative dining experience. There are far too many excellent restaurants in Buffalo to have to endure The 31 Club. They will never see the 6 of us again and we will do our best to warn others to spend their time and money on an establishment worthy of their business. Shame on the 31 Club for not having the knowledge and class to know how to satisfy their customers!

When someone suggests where to go for dinner, the 31 Club is my first suggestion.. I love the restaurant although the little dining room in the front does get a little loud and noisy. However it doesn’t dissuade me from having dinner there.. the meals are delicious and the sides that are served with the entree are so very tasty! The service is also good.

Food was wonderful! However, the service was terrible!! This was one of our favorite places to eat before a ploy. This time, we were so disappointed with our waitress. It took over 45 minutes to get a drink. The first bottle of wine we ordered was not in stock. We went with the wine they recommended and that bottle of wine was bad, We refused it. (Wine was not sealed properly. Cork was dry & broke in half when uncorked!) It took the waitress some time to finally return to take a drink order. She was ready to leave before she asked all of us for our drink order. We got our food before we got drinks!

When she brought the bill & I was reviewing it, she stood over my shoulder. When it was time to pay, she first rang up the order incorrectly. It was so disappointing!!! In fact we brought a friend from out of town to 31 Club. She agreed food was great but service was so poor!!!!

This was a theater night dinner with a 7:30 shuttle to Shea's. Though we were the first ones to be seated in the "fireplace" dining room, we were often that last to be attended to through the evening. Dinners were good, though my 31Club berger ordered medium rare arrived very well done. Because service was not up to its usual standard, we had no time for coffee or dessert. We always enjoy 31 Club and find the food and service to be excellent - this night was just a bit off.

This was our first time at this restaurant. The staff was welcoming and friendly. Our waitress was extremely accommodating and helpful. We ordered several appetizers, and enjoyed them immensely. The atmosphere was relaxing and our food selections were excellent. We are looking foreword to returning and working our way around the appetizers and menu.

Same problem every time we go. Book the shuttle, leave plenty of time for dinner, waiter takes so long after clearing dinner plates to bring dessert /coffee offerings that we have to leave without either one. Seems like he would realize that this also affects his final bill/ tip. 20 minutes after dinner plates are cleared waiting at the table is just not acceptable. Too bad because food and venue are quite nice.

Service was HORRENDOUS. One hour from the time we ordered until the time we got our salads. Waiter completely ignored our table of 9. When food finally made it to the table, waiter brought plates over one at a time after putting them on the window sill as a pit-stop first! Never asked if we wanted a second drink. Ever. We had to inhale our food by the time it finally arrived, so we could make a concert at 8 p.m. after arriving for our reservation at 5:45. Quality of food was excellent. What a shame.

Don’t go!! Made 7:30 Friday reservations and arrived at 7:20. There were many open tables but we had to wait in the bar for 40 minutes. There were no parties or crowds.. Finally got seated but no water or drink orders for another 15 min. I had to ask for bread. After another 15 minutes waiter took our order. I ordered the special filet and lobster . Waited 40 minutes for the entree. Steak was over cooked to leather and the lobster was rubber. Totally gross. Walked out at 9:00 and just paid for the wine. No apologies from the manager or anything.. totally ruined date night..
DO NOT GO TO THE 31 Club!!!

We didn't get a high top as I asked. We were told we had to wait because they ran out of menus. The waiter was slow and missing. It was 1 hour after ordering that we got our meal. We had to find someone to fill our drinks. The food tasted good, but not good enough to pay $122.00 for a steak sandwich, small strip and veal. Although the portions were perfect and the gnocchi was light and tender. It was hard to determine where to park. The shuttle driver didn't know where he was supposed to go. On the way back it was EXTREMELY overcrowded like subway trains. We chose 31 Club over Buffalo Grand and Salvatores. I'm sorry to say I was disappointed.

I would not come back again because my lobster scramble had way too much pepper in it, I’ve never had that much pepper in a meal before. There was way too much arugula in it too. The Bellini was good. The French onion soup was ok, very dark broth color though and was heavy tasting not counting all of the cheese. My boyfriend’s lobster bisque was more like a “pudding” not a soup, it was too thick and lukewarm, it seemed like they warmed it up from a pot or something and wasn’t freshly made. So he didn’t even eat half. Dinner prices are too much so we won’t even try out dinner, but I will not return for brunch. I’ve always wanted to try out 31 club and was glad I used a groupon and didn’t have to pay full price for our meal.

It was the worst experience I have ever had at a $$$ restaurant. I would have expected a slower than normal service pace as the waiter explained that there was a large party of 75 upstairs... but we sat down at 8pm and didn’t have our appetizer until 9:30. Our waiter Shawn was very apologetic and explained two people had called in sick as well. I don’t feel it was Shawn’s fault or the manager who came over after our dinners were served cold and tasting bland. She seemed to know the routine for complaining customers and discounted our bill. The amount of discount was pitiful compared to the amount of money and time wasted since our dinners didn’t even arrive until 10:30. I asked to speak with the owner. In this type of establishment you would expect to see the owner walking around and greeting people, helping the staff etc.. the biggest hustler was the hostess...she was the only one with a sense of urgency. The manger “couldn’t find the owner” so she took more off the bill. I will not return or recommend this restaurant until the owner is found and a new one takes over.

I chose this for my Wifes 30th Birthday dinner. We won't be back. We had a 7:30 reservation, were told right away that they were running behind, and by 10 we chose to leave because we had not received anything more than a bottle of wine and two appetizers. We also could audibly hear other tables complaining about the service. They had from what we heard a party of 75 upstairs, and that should not have effected the service we received. We ended up going to a restaurant in our neighborhood getting a beer, and guilty pleasure food. Much better decision.

I have been to this restaurant many times and before the last visit had nothing but good things to say. Their server was one of the worst I have had at any restaurant of any caliber. The server took 30 minutes to take our order. The server also put in the wrong order for my wife and delivered scallops when she ordered salmon. His response was the scallops are better anyway and I'll get you a drink on the house which he never did. Once we finished eating it took 20 minutes for our plates to be removed. He also never once asked how the food was during dinner. Then 15 minutes after taking our plates he came back to ask about dessert and left a menu. Another 15+ minutes he comes back to get a dessert menu and at which point I asked for the check as we had been there for over 2 hours at this point. I hope the restaurant remedies this poor service soon as they have good food but will not stay popular if that is the level of service they tolerate.

I have been to dinner here and its generally a fantastic experience. We did the easter brunch this year (2019) and was disappointed. While the food was good , the spread lacked much in the way of variety (compared to others in the area) and the service was sub par. A 20% gratuity was included which should have meant a better experience from a service perspective.

We came for Easter brunch. We assumed it was their regular brunch menu where you ordered from the menu since there was no mention of $36 pp on their social, Open Table or Website. There wasn't full table service. We had 4 in our party. We had 5 drinks totaling $32. The entire bill came to $249.67 for 4 people. Why? Well did you know this super fancy dinner club assessed a CLUB SURCHARGE to dine? Yes, a CLUB SURCHARGE. Our club surcharge came to $41.61. Thats OVER 20% When I called to ask what it was for, they said it covers the cost of setting up a buffet, plates, cleaning bussing the table. Really? You charge your patrons for that? I spoke to Viktoria who was supposed to get back to me about giving me a refund for the "surcharge" and I emailed the "club" but to date, have heard nothing.

So let's assume this so called "club surcharge" includes gratuity. Let me tell you about Shaun, our waiter. He didnt show up to our table until we were seated for 15 minutes. He brought 2 bar beverages after another 15 minutes but forgot the other two for 30 minutes. He never came to warm up our coffee (prob outside smoking since that's how he smelled) nor did he clean off our used plates in a timely manner. Matter of fact, we had to ask other staff for service. If I had a CHOICE on leaving gratuity, I'd have left him $5.

We left here very annoyed and won't ever be returning. Sad to say, I had similar experience when I hosted a party for 18 in their "club". Service is horrible, response to complaints, horrible. Its obvious no one here cares about their patrons. Read the other reviews. We're lucky to live in a town where plenty of other FIVE start restaurants allow a party of 4 to eat for much less AND get great service. You should be embarrassed for a sneaky charge tacked on to the tab of unsuspecting patrons.

We took friends there from New York and they loved it. It's classy but comfortable. The food was wonderful. Our friends said it was going to be their new favorite restaurant when they're in Buffalo.

My wife and I dined there on a Monday evening which explained why it was so quiet. I think there were only 5 other people dining at the same time. But we had a wonderful meal and a chance to talk without shouting. My Delmonico steak was perfect, and the lobster bisque was also tasty with large chunks of lobster (some places you get shredded pieces and you can't always be sure if it is really lobster). We would go back there again for certain.

We had an excellent experience. We have been going here for years. The staff has a high turnover rate and as a result, the various aspects of quality vary. The current chef's offering for this meal was quite good. The 1st course of the cheese and meat plate for two was exceptional - we would have preferred spreadables with it such as mustard, honey, jam, etc. The toasted bread was excellent.

The main courses were a mixed review. My scallops were perfectly done, but the risotto could have been improved. My standard for risotto comes from Cap de Maison in Saint Lucia which is much creamier (I think because of the cheese) and softer on the palette. My wife's pork chop was cooked to a perfect color, but it was salted a little too much.

Our waiter was quite attentive without being too present. At first I found him a little too stiff, but I chalked that up to me being too fussy. He had an excellent fry sense of humor and I really came to appreciate him by the end of our 2 hour dining experience.

I will continue to return to the 31 Club, but it is not in my top five for the Buffalo/St. Catherine's marketplace.

Delicious food. Very slow service perhaps due to frequent cigarette breaks taken by our server. so I would warn someone about the slowness and occasional cigarette smoke from the patio filtering into the dining room.

Love going early to have a drink and or app pre diner at the bar some nights have live music. Bartenders are always great. Never been disappointed with food or service.

Salmon dinner was fabulous !!! Hostess wonderful - I was on crutches and amazingly accommodating ! Food was served less than hot but when hostess noticed immediately corrected and returned wonderfully prepared - absolutely the best Salmon I have had ( and I order it a lot ) waiter was fine but could have been more attentive to details ( bread and wine ) over all a most enjoyable evening. I am anxious to return !!!
