We chose this restaurant because it was noted in our local entertainment paper, that it was featuring live music that evening. We asked the hostess who sat us, where would the music be playing. She said there was no music that evening. I informed her that it was advertised. She said the music was scheduled for 2 weeks later. Also, mentioned this to our waitress who did acknowledge she heard it was advertised, but did not know what happened. At the end of our meal, I again stated my disappointment that we purposely chose this restaurant for the music. She checked with the owner, who stated he was meeting with the entertainers on Monday and I could call Monday to check the schedule. The food was nothing exceptional. My dish was lobster fettuccine with Chile’s, spinach, and marinara. The spinach was not there. My husband had veal Frances’s. It was oily and the egg batter fell off.
We had a very nice meal. Service was great. Not crowded so very comfortable for conversation
One of our favorite venues in Buffalo. Ambience and service are excellent, as were their drink and wine selections. One of my favorite bars, especially pre-theatre. However, the food needs improvement. The chopped salad was excellent, and a single order was more than adequate for the two of us to share.
My companion ordered the King Crab legs, and while of excellent quality, they were cold, and the piece I tasted felt and tasted recently thawed. I ordered the Cioppino, which was hot and very good. However it was lacking both the broth in which it is traditionally served, as well as the baguette, or other toast/bread normally served as an accompaniment.
Wonderful time here, server was on point with everything food was delicious as always, friendly wait staff.
Steak was perfectly prepared and delicious. Staff was pleasant and accommodating. Very efficient. Will be back again soon.
Great experience and service, accommodating and willing to go the extra mile
Been many times...the food is generally excellent, but the quality of the wait staff is not always consistent. If you have a show downtown, use the shuttle service!
Great food. Love the patio ,great service.1/2 price appetizers 4_7 try the banana peppers they were great
Reservation for brunch and it was wonderful. It was our 51 anniversary and the waitress was very good!!!
Service was outstanding. Drinks were amazing. Food was delicious. Extremely
Pleasant experience. So much more than expected.
Excellent food. Enjoyed a beautiful evening outside.
Outstanding in every way...such a Buffalo Gem!
Would recommend for a
Great night out
This was one of our favorites , We went before a Shea's shows and there was only one or two other customer's and the server was very slow. they advertised a shuttle to Shea's ( did not have it ) the calamari on the menu they did not have , NO daft beer at all ? I ordered pasta Bolognese which was not very good heavy with the lamb and over cooked pasta , I was asked if I wanted graded cheese and the server forgot ? plus we ended paying our bill at the bar because the server must of forgot about us . I will not return to many good places with a better value downtown , what a shame !
I have been here many times for dinner but never brunch. The surroundings are very nice and the noise level wasn't bad for the hour. Food choices were nice and prices comparable for the area. The cuisine was tasty, and 2 for 1 Bellinis were a nice touch. Would recommend.
I was so disappointed in 31 Club. On a Saturday night at 7:30 we were one of only 3 tables in the place. We were greeted promptly and seated on the patio as requested. The beautifully appointed bar had one person seated at it with a bartender. Our drinks took too long. When I ordered a Shrimp Cocktail and a salad for before my entree, the waitress announced that she would be serving those items at the same time. Why? An appetizer comes first. There was certainly no need to hurry us to get a turn-over on the table. The shrimp was freshly thawed and saturated with water. When we received our entrees, the waitress asked if we would like another round of drinks and we said yes. When we were nearly finished with our dinner I went to see where our drinks were. The bar was now empty and the bartender gone, but our drinks were sitting there ready. Just then the waitress walked in to the bar and asked if I was looking for the men's room and I told her no, I was looking for our drinks. She said, "oh they are right here , I'm sorry". Food was mediocre, service poor, I really don't expect this place to be around long. With all of the wonderful restaurants in Buffalo, I won't return to 31 Club.
Everything was very good. A couple of minor complaints - the Caprese salad was very generous, except for the basil - it needed more basil. And the Facebook page showed extra Fixed Prix entrees, that were not available.
As always our dining experience was superb. The food, the ambience, and the people make 31 Club one of the finest restaurants in Buffalo.
Everything was great, except my wife and I didnt care so much for the background music. Just a personal thing. Others may like it.
Wonderful evening with great food & great service. We will return. Also a special Thank You to the manager who gave us a tour of the remodeled facility as our previous visit to this location was a long time ago.
First time here and everything was perfect. Our server Ashley was outstanding, very attentive, friendly and knew the menu well. The ambiance reminds you of those old fashionable dinner clubs of the 1960's with modern updates. The half-moon booths are cozy and comfortable. I had the cioppino which was chocked full of seafood. One of the best I've had. Husband had the salmon dish which was one of the daily specials and we shared the stuffed banana peppers. All were perfect. Don't forget to try the creme brûlée, it's silky and wonderful. I can't believe it's taken us this long to try 31 Club. We will be returning.
Sunday Brunch on the patio was fantastic! Ronnie was our server and she was informative and helpful. Very attentive....and outstanding recall. The Bloody Mary’s and Bellinis were buy one, get one!! ....and delicious. My group ordered the French toast, the waffle and the lobster omelette. DELICIOUS!
This was the first time I was ever disappointed in the 31 Club. We order the Veal Francaise and were told it came with vegetables. When it was served, there was asparagus (which was fine), but it also had a saffron risotto (which was awful). I would much rather have had mashed potatoes with it. The risotto tasted like soap.
I had indicated on the reservation it was my birthday, and they did absolutely nothing to note it. When we first arrived, a dessert (possibly a cupcake) with a candle on it was delivered to another table. I even mentioned "no candle?" to the waitress when my dessert arrived. She said she'd check on it, but that was the last we heard.
My wife and I had a fantastic event at The 31 Club restaurant. We were celebrating her 50th birthday, and it could not have gone any better. The building is beautiful and the renovations are a great blend of contemporary and traditional. The food was delicious from appetizer through dessert. I have already recommended The 31 Club to friends and family with total confidence. Great experience.
Very good service, tasty meal and upscale atmosphere. Overall, a nice dinner.
Went for an early dinner date and the food was great! The seared scallop was incredible!
Love the food and experience each and every time we go! Always a real treat and attentive staff!
The food was very good, but service was bit slow, so we ran out of time for dessert. If you go before heading to the theater, I'd say give yourself at least 1.5 hours, maybe 2 if you do appetizers and desserts.
Always a wonderful treat to come here and drink and eat. Very delicious and worth the price!
I say I wouldn’t because of the slow service. Very. Slow. Service. Also, the chicken I ordered was very dry, and vegetables were almost not cooked. I found it to be mediocre at best. I don’t think we will be returning. I can see why they are using Groupon, an attempt to draw business. The place was almost empty.
We have bee to the 31 club many times and that’s why we kept coming back. Our experience was not as expected Our food was cold and overdone and no flavor. Was very disappointed as We raved to our senior guest of quality of food and did not deliver. We will not be returning to your restaurant as there are many more fine restaurants in the area. Truely disappointed
The dining experience was wonderful they made accommodations for us to combine another party’s reservation with us. And we took the shuttle to Kleinhans and worked out perfectly
Great service. Shawn was our server he was great. The music was excellent. Good food, will be back.
Absolutely stunning place to enjoy and beautiful meal. The waiter was fantastic and made me enjoy the wonderful food even more. If you want to eat somewhere high class and quiet this is the place I recommend.
We were on our way to Shea’s. The dinner was absolutely heavenly. My friend ordered a pork chop that was excellently prepared. She was afraid it would be dry but it was not.
I ordered the lobster raviolis — terrific!!
The server was excellent and I love the ambiance.
We will go again very soon.
(It is on the expensive side but well worth it!)
Fast and accurate service. Pleasant staff. Ample parking.
Lamb sliders were terrible.
French fries with lamb sliders were so hard I could not eat them.
Beautiful space. Our server was excellent. Overall everyone enjoyed their meals. One diner said his steak was slightly over cooked.
We stopped for drinks at the bar both before and after dinner. The bartender kept disappearing.
The food was excellent. We were able to have a round table for 7 people and it worked out fine. However the service was TERRIBLE. Our Waiter was very slow and inattentive at times. Fortunately another waiter stepped in on occasion and took care of us as best as she could. The man who was our waiter was late in bringing wine, bread and the main course. Never got dessert because dinner took 3 hours and we decided to leave. This was a special occasion, a birthday dinner for a friend. The lateness and inattention took away from the celebration. Not Happy.
We had only been here for drinks previously so we were looking forward to trying their food. We arrived early and had a drink at the bar while waiting for friends. When we went to get seated, the hostess was nowhere to be found for about 10 minutes. As soon as we were seated, we were given menus and water and told someone would be right with us. At that point we heard a very loud noise and profanity coming from the kitchen. We waited at the table for over 30 minutes, not one person even looked at us. The tables on either side weren’t faring much better but they did have waiters. The one table said it took 45 minutes to get their drinks. Apparently there was some staff issues but it only would’ve taken a drink order and some bread to keep us there. We wound up leaving and having a very nice dinner elsewhere.
Let me start out by writing that we had a later reservation and called to ask ahead of time if we could come earlier. The restaurant was able to accommodate us and we did arrive at 630 rather than 745. However, we didn’t get our appetizers until almost 730 even though we ordered almost right away when we sat down because we were hungry. Even our wine tools about 30 minutes to arrive. The waitress was very nice but clearly overwhelmed. She explained they were a little short staffed and very busy. That was a busy weekend in Buffalo with graduation, etc. When the food finally arrived it wasn’t particularly good nor was it that warm. At this point we just shut our mouth and ate it. The waitress apologized for the long delay. A nice touch might have been to give us our second glass of wine on the house given how long everything took. The ambiance itself is pleasant but a little too loud in the bar area. We were sitting at high tops near the bar. I’m not sure that I will come back. Certainly the food is nothing to rave about. The lamb sliders were ok and the flatbread pretty good. But the chicken marinera was dry, the lobster linguine not good and the veal not worth ordering.
