I had a nice business dinner and my guests were certainly impressed with the food and atmosphere at 3030. It was the first time I’ve ever been there, but I would certainly go again the next time I’m in the area.
Tucked away in a Marriott on a quiet section of Ft. Lauderdale Beach awaits an unexpected dining treat for even the most sophisticaed epicurean. I have dined a number of times over the last 4 years at 3030 Ocean and each time have left exceptionally pleased in most every way. I am particularly fond of fresh fish and the 3030 Ocean chef is a master at preparing and creatively presenting his delicious creations. This chefs skill and talents go well beyond fish dishes. Whether it is a salad, an exotic appetizer or a creative and delightful dessert, this chef delivers an exceptional blend of tastes, textures and visual appeal. There are alcholic beverages to pleae anyone including a wide selection of fine wines. [Somewhat dissappointing is that no draft beers are offered, only a wide variety of bottled beers are available.] While the service is not formal, starting with the perky hostess [Cece] the wait staff is well trained and tries exceptionally hard to please. The decor very comfortable and pleasant, but not at all elaborate or pretentious. The noise level is very modestand permits easy dinner conversation. To make matters even better, the prices at 3030 Ocean are very modest compared to comparable South Florida restuarants of equal quality. Why this restaurant is not better known is a mystery to me. I know that I look forward to returning again soon.
The chef is fantastic. Everything we had was exceptional. The variety and depth of the menu, the preperations/sauces/accompaniements/etc. were all fabulous. The mains were a bit salty for us but still we ate every bite. Service was also quite attentive if a bit lacking in fine dinning etiquette. The view was splendid. The only negative was the huge volume of noise coming from the bar which runs all along the back wall of the restaurant area. Not really appropriate for a fine dinning experience. Fortunately there was no additional piped in noise (sometimes they call it music but it really just amounts to extra noise) and we were seated at the far end of the loud side (which is nearest the entrance). It did moderate a bit as the evening wore on.
Slow seating! 30 minutes
We were guests at this Marriott hotel for the Presidents’ Day weekend. We made a reservation to dine here with our gradeschool children for dinner one night. The ambience is very nice, the wine selection is good and the food was very good. They do have a children’s menu, although you cannot tell from their website. There was a big delay when my husband ordered the tasting menu and I did not. We sat and waited for our main entrées for about 25 minutes or more after his last course and after the children were finished with their meals. Our main courses arrived cold. However, the waiter was nice and the restaurant accommodated us. It was a wonderful evening until the delay at the end. I would still recommend it.
Amazing food good service very friendly and pleasant waiter. Definetly a keeper
Went to 3030 three (3) times in the last 6 weeks. The first time we went at 6 p.m., I loved the food and the waiter (Steven) even though we were charged $12 for parking on a supposedly validated ticket (it was too much to re-park the car and go back up in the elevator to the restaurant). The second time, with a different waiter, we were left sitting with dirty plates for 30 minutes because the wait staff had no bus people and were frantically running around. The food, again, was superb. The 3rd time we got Steven again; however, he got waylaid by other tables, no bus people and our main course was delivered 30 minutes after our second course and was lukewarm. A screaming child, whose parents did have the courtesy to remove him, disrupted the dinner for over 40 minutes and the head waiter said nothing to the parents. On top of that, the pounding music made this one of the most expensive and unpleasant dining experiences I’ve had. On top of that, was charged $10 for parking on a ticket that, again, was supposedly validated. I will not return nor recommend this restaurant and it is a shame because the food is very good but the chef is not up to running this establishment.
Very handy in the main lobby of the resort.
Good food and good service
But the restaurant reserved many tables that never went used and we had to start our dinner very late due to the unnecessary blocked tables
excellent food and a great value
I have eaten here quite a bit and have always found the food to be exceptional. But last nights menu wad not appetizing and disappointing. I wish they had the regular menu available. It wasn't a good first impression for the people I was with, especially after I bragged so much about the food.
It was Valentine’s day. Every lady received a rose, except my wife. We were seated next to a SCREAMING child, nothing was done by our waiter or by the management even after several complaints. Even after I made the reservation specifying our anniversary, NOTHING WAS MENTIONED, nothing was done. Again, every lady received a rose. For some reason, there was not one for my wife.
Never again, to that place.
Took 15 minutes for someone to greet the table. For 86$ a plate it was horrible. You know it's bad when steak and potatoes arrives and you get 1 single ice cube potatoe. Publix makes better deserts. I got severely ripped off and please go to a real restraunt like capital grill or something. Beyond upset with my dinner. Wish I had taken a photo
Too noisy. Couldn’t talk to others at the table. Big crowd in the bar was very loud.
I have a lot of food allergies. The chef was able to accommodate my restrictions and still create an outstanding meal.
My friend and I each tried the tasting menu as it afforded us the opportunity to try several items off of the menu. Everything we ate was phenomenal. It was difficult to rate the noise level as it was Super Bowl Sunday so at times it got a little loud.
I am definitely coming back as I want to order the octopus appetizer that my friend ordered. It was amazingly tender and cooked to perfection. I have already recommended this restaurant to two friends.
Restaurant part of the Marriott. It is a okay restaurant if you are staying at the hotel. Food was fresh and the portions were adequate. The portion size is suitable for a mainly hotel guest who have no interest in taking food home. Started with a tomato cream soup which was nice balance and served a proper temperature. Tried the snapper which was moist and properly fillet.
Staff was helpful and attentive.
It was not gourmet but worked.
Stephen was simply spectacular! The service was only outclassed by the amazing food...quality, magnificent aesthetics made our 4 course dinner nothing less than pure utopia!
Strongly recommend going and experiencing a flat out “10”!
Staying at the hotels and decided to give 3030 a try. Had the chefs tasting menu. We ended up ordering 8 dishes and each of them were outstanding. Quite a excellent time.
Best In Town and Ricardo Our server is the best in the business
The food was excellent and the room is handsome; the servers themselves appeared capable but apologized more than once for the slow service. Whatever the source, it needs to be corrected or the rating will suffer.
Location great, on beach, nice fire pits outside.
Short ribs tough and dry
Snapper was good
Taittinger split nice touch
Grilled oysters mediocre
Seared tuna good
Had the tasting menu which was very good. Good wine selection. Overall very good. It was a bit loud but manageable.
Wow, what a pleasant surprise! We stayed away from 3030 thinking it was the usual over priced hotel brand "steakhouse." But Lo and behold it was an amazing feast. Shrimp apps were seasoned with a spicy rub, delicious. Kids chicken and also noodles were devoured by our 8- and 3-year olds. Short ribs for my wife, she loved them, said it was her best meal of our 5-day trip to FLL. I had beef tenderloin, which I have to say also bested any meal I had here including Market 17. Service and wine menu were top notch as well. Biggest regret is that we waited until the last night to try it.
Service was a little delayed for one course but overall great experience
This was the second time in a week I went to the restaurant. The first was a Tuesday at an earlier hour and we had terrific service. This was on a Saturday at 7:15 and the wait staff is insufficient. There are no busboys, our waiter was juggling 8 or more tables. I sat with a finished plate in front of me for over 25 minutes. We were there for over 3 hours -- some delay due to the kitchen and some due to insufficient bus people. The waiter cannot do it all with so many tables to serve, even though hot dishes are delivered from the kitchen vs. the waiter.
The food was excellent from the appetizer of House Smoked Fish to our main course of Apple Bourbon Smoked Chicken Leg and Short Ribs. We thoroughly enjoyed our meal.
In all honesty, one of the tastiest meals I’ve had in years and we dine out all the time throughout south Florida. Our server was super knowledgeable and friendly, wonderful spot and will be visiting again!
Great food, good service, a place I always try to visit while in Fort Lauderdale!
I travel all around the country on business and 3030 Ocean remains on my Top 3 favorite restaurants. Original and incredible.
My family and I dined at 3030 ocean every night during our vacation at the Marriott Harbor Side (five nights in a row). The food was absolutely fantastic!! The service however, was consistently terrible.
