Easter Sunday - Join us here at 2941 Restaurant from 11am - 3pm / 5pm - 8pm
Sunday, April 1, 2018
The menu is limited to only seafood. No options for a healthy menu.
We were disappointed in the menu choices. I don't particularly care for duck or fish, so was limited to two choices.
When I was eating a piece of your olive bread, I bit on a pit and was concerned that I may have broken the tooth.
I mentioned that to our waiter immediately and to the manager as we were leaving. The manager was sympathetic and gave me his card in case I had damaged the tooth.
We love dining at 2941 Restaurant. It has a special place in our hearts, as we were married there in Nov. 2016. We always love coming back. The atmosphere is so warm and inviting, the food is beyond compare, and it is such a great place to get together with friends. Conversation is easily managed, as one doesn't have to shout above restaurant noise. This is one of the true gems in Northern Virginia.
Great quality gourmet food and excellent dishes on the menu. Ambiance and service were perfect, with considerations to any requests. Great for family, party and business.
Food is always good, but portions are small and prices are high. Lunch for 4 was nearly $200 with no beverages and no dessert.
2941 is exceptional restaurant. The wait staff were professional, the servers were very helpful, the best tasting menu in METRO area. The food was delicious and tasty, wine was extraordinary.
Highly recommended to friends and family. Borko did an amazing job. Thank you
Great dining options. The wine list was broad, but not deep. The first bottle of wine was great, but 2941 did not have a second bottle of the wine that we loved. The Sommelier was able to find something to accommodate.... but we really would have preferred to have had a second bottle of the first, which was a LOT better and actually a bit more expensive :)
Excellent food and wine. We appreciated the help with the wine selection that went well with our meal.
Oh my gosh, the best meal of 2018 (so far)... can't recommend the beet salad and mushroom velouté enough! Our server Julio was amazing, and we truly appreciated the split on the perfectly prepared ribeye in a perfect Bourdeaulaise sauce. The new pastry chef is a master with chocolate, and my wife loved our belated Valentine's Day date from beginning to end. We're already planning a return trip in the near future, thank you 2941!
We have been for drinks before and were looking forward to having a full dinner for date night. We were seated and sat for a solid 10 minutes before we were offered water or approached in any way. Throughout the night, our server was very absent and I felt like we were an afterthought. Our entrees arrived over an hour after we ordered after we finally flagged our server down to ask about the status to which he responded that the kitchen was backed up because everyone came at once. I found that strange because only 30-40% of tables were full and it was a Friday night. Our wine and ceviche appetizer was decent but the salmon was over cooked and my $38 grouper was bland with undercooked cannelloni beans. The ambience and restaurant is just beautiful and we will return for drinks but to be honest our date night was rather spoiled by the bland and overpriced food and extremely lackluster service. Had either been better, the bill wouldn’t have been as painful to pay. Very disappointed.
Ask for Jean-Marc. He is the consummate fine dining guy -- maybe it's his accent, but he is great. I took my Mom for our birthdays. They are two days apart, but had passed three weeks prior, so I didn't mention anything to anyone. Someone on the wait staff must have overheard us say something, because they brought a fantastic little dessert after the meal. I actually thought my wife had called ahead -- still don't know how they found out. Great service, unbelievable food, love the ambience. It's pricey, but I definitely recommend it.
I have been coming to this restaurant for years, and I have never had a bad experience. The food is always outstanding and the service impeccable.
We were disappointed with the service too many reasons to list.
Surprised for 6 the tip was included in the tab.
Drinks were stingy.
Food was good.
The place and the setting were great. The service was good and food presentation was great. Just a little over priced honestly.
The food was very good, and very creative. The ambiance was nice, but not top-notch. Still a great place for a special occasion, but it's not a formal dining experience.
An amazing restaurant hidden away in a commercial building easy to overlook. Loved the small separate room with 8 tables-for-two that creates the quiet, intimate atmosphere for a romantic evening out. Food was fabulous, service was prompt and attentive without being clingy.
First thing I have to compliment 2941 on service! Top notched - from the host staff to wait staff I felt completely welcomed and catered to. The food overall was amazingly tasty and creative. The best calamari I've had in my life. We also loved the mushroom soup and I can go on and on and the raspberry chocolate mousse - only the best dessert I've had in my life. I wish the menu wasn't so limited this weekend - and overall it is a pricey place to dine but I have to say it was worth it.
It was Valentine's Day. Everything was awesome! We had a great evening! The food was fantastic!
Gorgeous restaurant, delicious food, and excellent service. The swordfish and desserts were especially enjoyable. We had read that Valentine's Day is a bad time to eat at a restaurant, but we always have had a good experience at 2941 and decided they would do Valentine's day well too. The restaurant did not let us down.
Valentine's Day dinner so I figured it wouldn't be all that, I was right. Service was super slow and not that good, the food was so-so and overall for what we paid I could have gotten a much better meal and better service and many other places. Disappointed for sure. Won't be going back and probably wouldn't recommend it to friends.
We had an amazing experience here! For it being Valentine's Day, it didn't feel overly crowded or noisy. We were still able to have a quieter romantic evening. The sommelier was very knowledgeable and shared a lot of information both about regions and the wines themselves. We were trying to pick between two wines and he helped us make the right decision. The food we had was flavorful and cooked to perfection - I would have loved to HUG the chef for the passion and attention to detail (flavors, textures, combinations). It was our first time here and we will DEFINITELY be back soon!
The most beautiful restaurant in the area. Always a special experience. Service was uncharacteristically a little slow. Food always good
Lovely setting for special nights out - good variety of tempting selections on the menu, impressive wine/cocktail offerings, and the food, presentation, service and atmosphere were all excellent. We celebrated a birthday here recently, and the staff ensured it was delightful evening for all of us. We will definitely be returning!
The food was excellent, including the deserts that were not only delicious, but also original which is rarely the case. The service was very poor with food served 5 minutes before wine would come to the table and unnecessary rushed. It is tragic to see the good impression created by the quality of the food being ruined by an unprofessional waiter.
It was a dinner celebrating 5 years of dating, being engaged and getting ready for my first deployment. Food was amazing, it really wasn't as expensive as I thought (still expensive just not as bad) really nice scenery, lighting was beautiful. Overall very much worth it.
2941 is simply an exceptional restaurant. The setting is open and inviting. The wait-staff are seriously professional, both knowledgeable and adept at making their contact helpful but not intrusive. The wine list is accommodating and the food is delicious and beautifully presented. We have not been dining out as often lately, but getting back to 2941 made us realize what we miss in an outstanding fine dining establishment. We had a great meal and look forward to going back.
I want to start by saying all the food at 2941 was delicious! We ordered the sea bass, ribeye, and beef rib special entrees, along with the ceviche appetizer. All of them were delicious!! My only small criticism of the food was that the ceviche portion was quite small, especially given the $17 price tag. All in all, the food was great! However, given the price of the food ($34-$48 entrees), we thought the service and ambiance should have been better. Two of our entrees arrived at our table without the third. The waiter came over a minute later and said he'd look into the problem. He returned and said there had been a "computer problem" so our third entree wasn't ready. It took a good 5-10 min for the third entree to come out. We waited to eat which meant the other two entrees were cold by the time the third arrived. My husband and I ordered sangria cocktails. While my husband liked his, I did not… was expecting something more "authentic." So, in conclusion, the food was very good, but given all the other great restaurant options in the D.C. area, we don't foresee going back to 2941 anytime soon.
Always a lovely dinner at 2941. The winter 2018 menu provides a bit of everything. Per usual, the pasta dishes stand-out. The tasting menu with wines is worth the trip. Who would of thought you could pair wine with device but they did.
Enjoyed the awesome tasting menu and wine flight for our birthday dinner. We love the wine education from the sommelier who is both knowledgeable and entertaining.
First time for lunch though many dinners, which were better experiences. This time the service was slow and 2 of 3 cocktails were made improperly, 1 sent back. Birthday dessert was a disappointment, a spongy raspberry cake. Not at all up to quality of entree which was excellent.
I love this restaurant. I take friends here for special celebrations, and it's my go to choice for a monthly luncheon with a friend. The water view is gorgeous and the food, the service, and the ambience are all exceptional.
With friends in tow from Los Angeles, we experienced a very choppy night. After ordering our wine plus cocktail, wine poured; 15 minutes later cocktail arrived (but incorrect). After that, we did not see a waiter for 30 minutes. Empty glasses, 45 minutes in and we haven't even been able to place our order--kept trying to attract the waiter who was laser-focused and running back and forth between other tables. "Menu problems--I got after the chef!" per the waiter. What does that mean? Once the food arrived, it was very solid, but not exceptional--our guest loved his duck. Anyway, just disappointing. And that is frustrating with a check of nearly $500. I would have offered my guests far better hospitality at my home.
The restaurant sent an email that they were extending Restaurant Week for an additional week. So, I made a reservation and invited friends. Then it pulled a bait and switch, and did not offer the Restaurant Week menu. The regular menu is considerably more expensive than the one posted, so I felt very uncomfortable having told my friends it would be the Restaurant Week menu.
Excellent food and service. Online menu and wine list are outdated. Big, open space. Upscale, sort of formal business-like atmosphere (it is located in the first floor of a large corporate office building). Quite expensive for what you get. Wine bottle is spirited away to a "serving station," rather than left on the table, requiring you to wait for service to refill glasses. This is probably considered "classy," but is actually annoying.
This restaurant has all the elements it needs to succeed. Unfortunately for our date night, it did not. It's a huge restaurant with high ceilings and interesting, modern decor. First, we were seated at the back at a small 2-top table that had a wall within 2" of it on one side and right next to another couple at a 2-top table -- not appealing at all. Weird, since we were well dressed and the restaurant had just opened 15 min before our reservation and there were plenty of tables. And I had my back to the rest of the restaurant. We asked to be moved -- and the waiter actually had to ask someone else before we could be moved. Certainly they need to put more time into their seating design. But here are the good things: The simple salad ($10) was a work of art -- with edible pansies. We both ordered fish -- delicious enough, but overpriced. Our waiter was excellent. Hubby and I were in deep conversations, but kept being interrupted by the person who filled the water every time we took a sip. Just better training and perception would work there. So, I'm kinda left with "meh." For the prices, everything about the restaurant should wow the diner.
As usual, 2941 comes though with a great meal during restaurant week. Lovely setting, very good service, gorgeous plating, a feast for the eyes and the palate.
We are regular 2941 patrons and have always enjoyed each visit. This visit was to sample the restaurant offerings and came away as happy as always. The only thing that was different was noticeably more noise from the bar. Perhaps just bar patrons or folks waiting for a table. A minor distraction that did not cause us to have to speak louder than usual.
Great view from the window. Not so great of selection for restaurants. I don't think it represents the level of this restaurant. And the value was not so great even on the restaurant week. The only highlights are appetizer (mushroom soup) and dessert (chocolate cake)
We had a late lunch here during Restaurant Week. The food was delicious as always and the service is always attentive without being intrusive. I think it is a great deal during Restaurant Week, but it would be a little expensive for just a regular dining experience. It would be a terrific anniversary idea. We would love to come back just to have a drink at the bar some evening. Very nice atmosphere!
Very busy on restaurant week. This was not the best we have had at 2941 but still quite good
