This place has declined in several ways. The food was boring and not worth the money. We thought the waiter recognized us when he said, “welcome back,” but then he said it to the table next to us and thet said they had never been there before. We were not offered cocktails and the first course arrived before we had the chance to order wine. I ordered wine, then the somm brought the bottle to my husband, assuming the man always orders the wine. I expressed my disappointment to the somm. While I was in the ladies’ room, the waiter apologized to my husband for not telling the somm that I had ordered the wine. Seriously? You realize you have been sexist and you apologize to the husband? The manger was no better and in trying to demonstrate he was not a sexist, used the incredibly demeaning sentence, “my wife wears the pants in our house.” This manager clearly does not believe that women and men are equal and neither does his staff. I think those of us who do believe in equality should not give this place our money. Boycott!

I have hosted three business meetings here over the past five years. The first two were exceptional. This recent event was far short of that mark. I would largely attribute this to the menu, which appears to have changed substantially. The menu offerings came across as more of an attempt to be creative than to deliver an extraordinary culinary experience. Portions are quite small given the price, with few if any gluten free options (one of our guests had an issue with this in particular). Also no seasonal seafood offerings, such as rockfish, oysters, cod, or black sea bass. Chilean sea bass, and Ahi tuna are common, but not exceptional, and they are certainly not in season on the east coast.

Our dinner was outstanding - even considering the price. Best risotto I ever had. The duck was phenomenal. Our server - Borko? - was tremendous.

And thanks for the personalized menu and birthday dessert!

This was our second visit and it hit all of the targets. Food was very good, service friendly but not overly intrusive, ambiance understated elegance, all in all a wonderful evening. I started with the parmesan rissoto with white truffles which made my eyes roll back in my head! My wife had the mushroom bruscetta which was amazing as well. I had American Wagyu which was very good (although frankly not amazing) and my wife had the scallops which she loved. For dessert I had a cheese plate with one particular cheese that was overwhelmingly good, just stunning.
Our server, Bianca, made the night -- she knows her stuff, knows when to be there (and when not to be there) and hit exactly the right notes. Her wine suggestions were knowledgeable and spot on as were her food recommendations.
The food was very good and the service made it a great evening.

Truly enjoyed the food and our server was very knowledgeable and attentive. We did not feel the atmosphere invoked the ambiance of a high end restaurant. The high ceilings and commercial feel of the setting kind of took away from the experience.

My husband and I recently dined at 2491 for my birthday. It was his first time at the restaurant and a special night out. I would give the restaurant a total of 5 stars but when we arrived the bar noise was so loud it was uncomfortable and we really could not hear our waiter when he welcomed us. About 30 minutes after we arrived the noise level quieted but I will keep that in mind and make a reservation after the bar flies go home.

The food, however, was outstanding. We order a mushroom on toast appetizers and the mushrooms were absolutely scrumptious! They were slivered very thin, then lightly sauteed and layered on top of goat cheese on toast. It was melt in your mouth good. It was topped by my Chilean Sea Bass which was perfectly prepared and surrounded by delicate vegetables.

My husband ordered ravioli that was succulent and tender and filled with three cheeses. He said he would order it again. The menu has a very nice feature and many of the dishes can be ordered for an appetizer or main course in small or large portions. That is a fantastic option and allows diners to taste several dishes instead of committing to one.

Dessert was a cheesecake mousse which was served in a footed glass. It gave us each several tastes to top the meal. The restaurant also brought a perfect little dessert for my birthday that made it the perfect night out!

The service was excellent but due to the noise volume we did have a hard time hearing him and had to ask him to repeat the specials.

This was our second time at 2941 for a small family birthday dinner. The service is excellent and considerate. The food is delicious and also beautifully and uniquely presented. The valet parking is extremely convenient and efficient. Considerations have been made to make the experience as comfortable and delightful as possible. We look forward to returning often for special occasions.

The location is out of the way, but 2941 is worth finding. A group of friends had a wonderful lunch. Service is perfect and lunch small size portions plus regular size entrees make this perfect for all size appetites. The variety of soups for appetizers was each delicious. Rissoto was perfectly prepared and luscious with mushrooms on top. Salad were fresh and delicious.

The evening went beautifully but when we got back to our hotel, we realized that none of the side dishes listed with the three entree's we ordered came out with our food. I wished we'd noticed while we were there. If we do go back, we'll be sure to remind them to bring the side dishes that's listed along side the entree's.

Tiny print at the bottom of the Thanksgiving Day menu said “20% taxable service charge added to final bill.” I hope that went to server, because we didn’t leave a tip over that, even though the credit card invoice had the usual space for tip. Kind of sleazy way to jack up the price for a pretty mediocre meal.

Let me first say, it was Thanksgiving Day and the restaurant was busy. The setting is pretty for an office park and it looked like the main dining room was interesting - high ceilings, lake view. Sadly, we were seated in an auxiliary and lackluster room between two service stations - my biggest pet peeve. Normally I would request another table and maybe have to wait, but it was Thanksgiving and we were hungry. The service was excellent and the food was good enough for us to maybe give it another try - but, if there is a next time, I will request a table in the main dining room.

We just had another wonderful meal here. We've dined here several times over the past year and have found the food, service, and ambiance to be wonderful each time. The chef has a steady hand and a nice touch with seafood. The tucked away location injects a welcome dose of calm and serenity into an otherwise stressing urban Northern Virginia.

My wife and I celebrated our anniversary and it was awesome. Not only are you greeted by a wonderful staff, but our dinner menu was personalized for the occasion. Just be sure to let them know when making your reservations. We got a free desert to share as well. The food was cooked to perfection and the wait staff was very knowledgeable and easy going. A definite revisit is in the future!

We've been meaning to come to 2941 for a long time and regret having put it off. Service was relaxed and not intrusive, but sufficiently attentive. All courses impressed--a salad of fall greens for her and tuna tartare for me. There was a hint of heat in the tartare (and one notable chile seed). The main courses were outstanding--risotto with mushrooms for me; gnocchi with truffles for my dining companion. The sommelier came by and recommended two good choices for wine to accompany our main courses. The Puligny-Montrachet was a perfect match for the meal and a good value at the price.

2941 has become our go-to place for celebrations, whether it's an anniversary or Thanksgiving or whatever. The food and service are always top notch. The mushroom tartine and tuna tartare appetizers are the most popular, and it is easy to see why. Both are scrumptious. The roasted duck breast was served in sausage-style chunks rather than medallions. That was a bit surprising but still very tasty and cooked to perfection as ordered (medium rare).

The only complaint I had was that my first glass of wine (the Eola Hills Pinot Noir) was not great, which I should have known when I saw it came from a screwtop bottle. However, my second glass (the Merlot Blend from Bordeaux, France) was superb.

Our server, Jennifer, was the best and really made the dinner special for us. You should ask for her...it would be worthwhile to do so.

Been there many times. Mostly when Jonathan Krim was the chef, but this was a great meal and great service. We took the a la carte instead of the tasting menu only because it was late and we were not that hungry. Wine list is fairly priced.

I always enjoy my meal at 2941. We did the 5-course tasting menu, with wine pairings, and it was even being offered for a reduced price! The wines were all very tasty and paired well with the interesting food courses. I really enjoyed all the selections, but the fish (bass) course was particularly good. My wife and I️ went out for a night with out kids. We enjoyed 2941 so much we are discussing our next visit. Our server was attentive, but not hovering, and was very helpful in deciding what to get.

We went with the chefs tasting menu, great decision, and had a nice “adult” dinner. It was just enough food to fill us but not leave us feeling as if we ate too much. Every course was delicious and elegantly plated.

A definite revisit is in order.

Hands down 2941 is the most beautiful restaurant in the DC metro area although I loved it more when one of the original Rodin Burghers of Calais was on display. The artwork went from unrivaled masterpieces to Jose Alvarez’s contemporary colorful works, which would work better in a different setting.

Also 2941’s baker serves incomparable breads, alone worth the visit, this time as in the past, the chef presents a seasonal and creative menu without being uber foodie. Service is excellent and cost is in keeping with the area. My party didn’t have wine at lunch so found the bill for five of us a good value.
