Beautiful location, exceptional service, nice plating, delicious food.
Hadn’t been there for many years and wasn’t disappointed. The food and service were excellent for our lunch. Still such a beautiful restaurant and setting.
While 2941 is not cheap, it is the best food I've had in the Washington, DC area. We had duck, and it was outstanding. We also had the tuna appetizer and salad, both of which are highly recommended. The baked Alaska was terrific. We're looking for another holiday to celebrate at 2941.
We had a terrific Easter dinner at 1789. The chef produces amazing dishes for every course. Even though we took a late seating on the holiday, everything was available and our French server was wonderful. It had been a while since we've been here, and so glad to put it on the list of top, gourmet dining.
The setting is so pretty - contemporary, set in nature.
A holiday meal at 2941 Restaurant is guaranteed to make the day festive.
Enjoyed impeccable service and amazing food. My dining partner thought it was better than the top-rated restaurants he ate at in France. As someone who doesn't care for sweets, I was delighted to be served a dessert that looked like artwork and tasted divine. Looking forward to going again!
My guest and I had the 4 course tasting menu for $75 each. I was very disappointed given the price in the size portion and in some dishes in the quality of food. There was a $15 upcharge for the calamari (which was a course chosen in the tasting menu) which came as a surprise to me on the bill since I did not see the upcharge (“sup 15”) in small print at the end of the description line on the menu. And it was not pointed out to us at ordering.
If I go back, I would not chose the tasting menu. Terrible value.
The restaurant is lovely, great setting, great service. Stay away from the tasting menu.
Top notch service. Lovely ambience. Baked Alaska a real treat.
Great views and amazing food!
We love the feel of 2941 -- those floor to ceiling windows, the gentle fireplace. It's a truly lovely space. The service is quite excellent. And the food is good to very good, but...honestly, we've had better and for a lot less money. We shared the calamari (yummy, but it's hard to screw up calamari) and tuna tartare (ok, that one was delish), and then several of us had the venison loin (good...but not exceptional), the ribeye (very good), and various fish dishes (good flavors in the halibut special). The desserts were fun, especially the cherry bombe. Surely you could mix in a few bottles of wine that were under $65...
Still and all in all: it's still a great view, a great place for a special occasion. Just wish the food had a trifle more "pop" for the price we paid (about $130 per person).
Very special birthday dinner beginning to end. Delicious and elegantly served in one of the prettiest settings in the area. Always our first choice for a special occasion.
We went there for our son's birthday. All three of us had excellent meals. We often find that restaurants with a good reputation disappoint in some respect, but 2941 lived up to its stellar reputation. The fish was super fresh and deliciously prepared. The soup was outstanding, as were the deserts. A very satisfying experience.
What I enjoyed the most were the dessert , we loved it . Also the customer service . The dishes , we ordered fish which was good. Then my husband ordered chicken with rice on a butter cream I believe. It was alright . Overall we loved the customer service and the desserts
Great food and service willing to cater to specific dietary needs.
Lunch was perfect. The food was above expectations and the service was exceptional.
Love 2941. Beautiful, airy space, interesting menu and consistently good food.
One of our 3 entrees, the swordfish, simply did not taste good. The fish was dry; the sauce, odd and not pleasing. The mistress d took it off our bill and sent a complimentary dessert. The rest of our food — Nero (fish) and pasta — was very tasty; butternut squash soup was fabulous.
Nice restaurant for special event. No salads. Overpriced entrees. For example, a rib eye was priced at mid $40's level. It was NOT a fillet.
I had no idea there was such a stylish place so close to where I live. Great if you are looking for an upscale experience. Great food, though not too many choices, great service. They make you feel special.
Beautiful scenery to view while dining on delicious items. The tomato soup is superb. Salad is beautifully presented. Olive bread very tasty but when we asked for more, none appeared. Very attentive staff 90% of the time. Had to ask for coffee refill.
Lovely luncheon. The butternut squash soup was excellent!
Quite disappointing after years of good experience at this restaurant.
Nice option for a price fixe tasting menu in NoVa. The wine specialist was very knowledgable and could speak well to the wines paired with each course. However, very pricey with the wine pairings. Quality was no where near other high-end price fixe restaurants in DC and Virginia.
Monday night service: pleasant, always with a smile, but not matched up with prices and advanced billing of the restaurant. Slow to refill glasses, respond to diner needs without having to ask, repeat bread rounds. Portions small.
Ok, experience, but not 3 or 4 star. Solid two.
It was wonderful.
Beautiful place; negatives are too much spam/phone calls, but may be opentable's fault. And parking garage is a nightmare - hard to find an unreserved spot, terrible directional signage.
Glad to see that this restaurant has returned to its prior quality. The calamari was the best we have ever had. Entrees were well prepared and creative. Wine list by the glass was not on par with the food but was adequate. Service was pleasant and efficient.
I do not normally give ratings/ write ups.
The restaurant was good but not great. Servers were nice/ pleasant, but not sharply dressed or well polished.
Ambiance looked a little tired and dated and lacked cosiness.A little bit like a 1990’s hotel lobby.
Our extra dry martini ....came dirty, the beans on the pork belly were over salted for me. The pork belly tasted like it had been braised first .... but then deep fried before it got to my plate.
My wife’s crudo was great. The zucchini flowers on the tasting menu were ok.... just not that memorable.
Duck Breast and veal chop were good.
Disappointing pear tartin. Not to par!.
It was sort of a hit and miss evening!
Eddie V’s would have been a better choice.
Don’t need anyone reaching me thank you.
Tasting Menu with Sommelier pairing was amazing!! We did 5 courses, loved every single one.
2941 earns every star it is awarded. Top-notch food, perfect wine pairings, knowledgeable and friendly service. Outstanding in every way. This is the place for special occasions!
Adore this place in every context.
Absolutely fabulous experience. Went here for the first time for our 10 year anniversary and it was the perfect location. We had the March 2019 Asian Dinner Tasting Menu with the wine pairing and it was an incredible experience, start to finish. Service was perfectly attentive without interrupting conversation and our server provided just the right amount of guidance on the menu without being overbearing or too opinionated. The value dollar for dollar of the tasting menu was just incredible, and between the gorgeous ambiance and fabulous service, we have already planned our next visit back in a few weeks for my husband's birthday! Great find!
Great restaurant..good food, good price, great setting and service!
This was my first time dining at 2941 and would definitely go back. The service was awesome and the food was amazing. It was indeed a great experience!
We were greeted with a Rose for my date. The lunch was great. Thanks!
The Asian menu at 2941 was an interesting change. The pan-Asian offerings suited us both, and we especially enjoyed the fish and pork dishes. The desserts were original and elegant. The restaurant and staff also made a special effort this birthday luncheon. :-)
Everything -- from the Valet Parking at the outset to giving us souvenir menu at departure (we were celebrating an 85th Birthday) -- was done just right. The service was knowledgeable and gracious, with every food item tastefully and artfully presented.
Pricey as usual, but our party of four was happy about the very good and fresh food. Wines are, however, overpriced. The restaurant provides a a nice and elegant ambiance for a celebration, but can do better on birthday desert. Given the reputation of this place, during my last visit I was a bit disappointed by the service. It was rushed between courses, without attention on whether we finished the first round of drinks and the appetizers - I felt like we lacked the proper attention although the place was not too busy (a Tuesday evening). Our server did not raise to the usual level of expectation on attention, politeness, elegance and and sophistication. I hope the restaurant will find this feedback useful.
Very good, artfully prepared food. A great place to impress clients or prospects. Truly exceptional service.
I picked 2941 as a quiet, comfortable lunch spot to treat two old friends who enjoy fine food and wine. We were not disappointed. The butternut squash soup is as delicious as ever. The fun of watching the soup being poured into the soup dish in a beautiful golden stream is a great beginning. I combined the soup with the mushroom tartine for a lighter lunch. My companions had French onion soup, Ceasar salad, Greek salad, and we selected a couple of excellent wines and topped it all off with an eclair for dessert. The restaurant was quiet, comfortable and we stayed and stayed to talk about old times with nobody rushing us out the door. Worth every penny. Highly recommended.
