Excellent Valentines dinner, fantastic food, especially for a tasting menu. Excellent value
As always a great dinner from Chef Chemel wonderful staff can't rate t2941 high enough
Overall, it was a nice spot for a Valentine's Day dinner. food was great but I'm just not certain I felt like the overall experience wowed me enough for the dollar value on the final check.
Extremely over-priced!!!. A limited menu aside from the Valentines Day “specials” being offered. Only thing good about the experience was that our meals arrived hot. Felt rushed the entire night. Service was left to be desired. Waiter had absolutely zero personality and felt we were putting him out. Left hungry and annoyed for what we just paid shelled out. I would not recommend nor would I ever go back. There are far better places with far better food, value and ambiance. Not sure what the attraction is and certainly can see why it’s fallen off the Washingtonian 100.
What a wonderful find in an area you wouldn't expect. Fabulous food, service and ambiance.
We will be returning for other special ocassions!
Very impressive meal. We had a Valentine's Day pre fixe menu that was prepared very well and it fostered a very efficient mall (less than 1.5 he's) Since it was a limited menu it's easy to set the dinner page so really curious how it would be in a normal nice with now variables.
I was hoping for more variety on the wine by the glass list but there were enough options for most people.
Complementary valley parking is great especially on a cold winner evening and they were very quick.
Overall, really good meal and we'll return for a normal menu evening.
Delicious and beautiful food, service was perfectly timed, and the entire property was extremely clean and well manicured. Overall a great experience. Will definitely be back for more.
The service was amazing. They are very efficient with their timing. The servers move smoothly that I never notice when my water gets refilled. The food is phenomenal and the absolute perfect amount. The only reason why I gave them 4 stars was because I ordered my filet mignon as medium but the first 2/3 of my steak that I ate was medium-well and the last 1/3 was a perfect medium. Regardless, it was delicious and I enjoyed it. The ambience was great. The tables were far a part that you felt like you had privacy to enjoy conversation and not overhear other conversations. Overall, I would definitely come back and I have never been disappointed.
We went on Love Day or Valentines Day so it was busy, might not be the case on other nights. Made a reservation over a week in advance. They have it together, that’s for sure! Quick service, very attentive, great creative food. The kind you have to take pictures of. We ordered wine and bourbon, good selections there too. There was complimentary valet and coat check. Loved the music! Not that it was blaring but loud enough to hear and good selections. Helped set the ambiance. We are already planning to go back again when it’s warmer have the experience of the beautiful fountains in the front too.
Wanted the bar got the bar bar is too close to the door
Love this restaurant. My wife and I plan to make this our regular spot.
Lovely Valentine's day dinner. Service and food were all top notch and the wine selection was amazing.
Great food, and great service from Jean-Marc. Not sure I like the dining room in front next to the bar. I much prefer the main dining room. It was a bit noisy, and very cold. But the restaurant is superb, the food is spectacular, and we always have a great dining experience, especially when Jean-Marc is our server!
Our waitress was very attentive. Our special occasion was Valentine’s Day. It was a little too crowded for our liking but it’s one of the best choices in Fairfax county if not the best for an upscale romantic French restaurant.
It was a memorable evening and the price fixe menu made every easy. Our server, Florence, was terrific!
Excellent experience! Great food, service and environment.
Food was excellent. Beautiful view. Quietness supports nice conversation. A tad expensive, but worth it for special meals.
I have mixed feelings about 2941. I never regret going but I'm always a little disappointed. The meats seem to never be properly seasoned or seared and just covered up with a random sauce. For the price I would expect better technique. The desserts have been much better though. They seem stuck on the 90's deconstructed presentation but there always seems to be one part of the dessert that tastes both interesting and excellent. 2941 is worth trying out but I'd suggest sticking to appetzers and dessert.
We went there on February 13 to celebrate Valentine’s Day. The food was good but not incredible. I had the salad (a bit one note and not a lot of texture), butternut soup (the apple foam too sour for my taste), and wild boar ravioli (the ricotta mousse was fantastic but the filling was a tad too rich). It was good but I’ve had better food elsewhere. And it was very pricey. On a positive note—my cocktail “depression” was out of this world. The ambiance was lovely and the service excellent. Our waiter was top notch and very attentive
The food was extraordinarily prepared, and presented; smashing! There were just two downsides to the evening one for the waiter one for the wine and spirits collection: The measure of a truly fine waiter is "everything is there but himself", (chasing him down to get the bill was the only service negative).
The wine was wonderful. The Sémillon, Johnathan was attentive, and most knowledgeable. Tragic that 2941 does NOT have a collection of vintage (30 year+) port wines, or armagnac.
We had a late reservation at 8:00 pm but the staff were on the ball. We had great recommendations from our waitress. It kills me I can't remember her name and also calling her a waitress seems silly as she was more like our dinner concierge. We had the five course tasting menu and cocktails - my husband had the Gunslinger and I had the Drop Dead GOURDgeous. I wouldn't normally recommend a cocktail with squash in it but it was amazing. It was all around great and I would highly recommend this place. It was quiet, had beautiful scenery, and wonderful food. A perfect date night!
We celebrate our anniversary here and all I can say is amazing everytime.
Went there 2 times and the food and service disappointed us both times. Me and my friends wouldn’t come back there
Overpriced, difficult to find, just a total letdown. No wonder it fell off the Washingtonian 100!
Too expensive for the wine and food value. The duck was cut very thickly so it was too rare.
We celebrated our anniversary and the chef printed and signed a menu with both our names on it. I had the tasting menu offering several options and great flexibility. The dishes were refined, esthetically perfect with sometimes too subtle flavors but it worked. My husband took the regular menu, his rib eye was outstanding and both our desserts along with the chef's treat for our anniversary, were absolutely delicious and greatly concluded our meal. All in all, a great and memorable dinner experience.
That said, the service needs improvement to match the food's elegance: we had almost one waiter per dish waltzing around us, eager to take the empty plates so I personally felt a bit rushed especially while savoring the tasting menu. Also, no explanations/descriptions for each dish were offered. Drinks arrived way after the food... Attention to details was a bit off but could easily be improved.
Wine pairing presentation was best I’ve seen.
Loved the food at 2941, the menu was very creative and tasty. Portions may have seemed small, but I assume it was due to Restaurant Week. Nonetheless, the overall food was great and to me it beats out several Michelin-starred restaurants that I've been to. Service was excellent, we were seated in a small and more private room off to the side of the main dining room, but our server certainly didn't forget about us and was sure to check-in appropriately. We will return again.
Food was good and the service was nice. We were disappointed that we were placed at a small plastic table in the corner for a nice meal.
I was totally disappointed in the service. The waiter was awful! I have had my wedding there and a private dinner and I had the best treatment during those times. The event planner and their staff treat you amazingly but if you’re going there during normal dining hours I’m not sure what gets lost in translation. I imagine if you’re spending over a grand for private dining your a queen and if not your amongst the commoners!!!!!!
Our server Florence went above and beyond the call. If you are in the main dining room, be warned, it can be cold with the high ceilings. We asked to be moved into the smaller, quieter back room and it was perfect. The food was wonderful -- we chose the restaurant week dinner menu and everything was excellent, start to finish. Thank you so much, 2941, you made my birthday dinner a winner!
I was very suspicious about location and restaurant. I was so wrong. It was a very enjoyable night and delicious food. Presentation was excellent.
Average restaurant week experience. Expected more. We were conference room
Type tables and chairs set up for restaurant week. Our waiter was inattentive, and after charging us for an extra restaurant week dinner, which we caught, he matter of factly (but not apologetically) agreed to remove it.
We went because it was recommended...had the venison and the duck...they were ok, if that, would not recommend for the food. Everything else was great.
2941 is a hidden gem, located in the midst of an oasis of greenery and waterfalls. Its hard to believe this is a close in suburban setting versus a bucolic countryside location.
The food is excellent and exciting. The selections available from the Restaurant Week dinner menu were very good and very interesting, and Restaurant Week dinner was a great value. The Chestnut- Mushroom Velouté appetizer and New Zealand Sea Bass entrée were particularly noteworthy.
Service was excellent- professional, efficient, and personable. This is a sophisticated restaurant while also being friendly.
The free valet parking made arrival and departure painless.
Perfect ambiance for a special occasion, romantic or with friends.
We had a wonderful date night to celebrate our anniversary!!!!

Everything had a great taste. Beautiful decor inside
It’s been a couple years since I’ve dined here and I remember the food being so much better. It was my girlfriends first time so it was too bad she thought the food was ok as well. Almost everything we had was very average nothing to write home about. Our server was a little slow, even though he came over as soon as we sat down to greet us it took him 15 mins to come back to take a drink order at which point we were ready to put in everything. He wasn’t on point when we needed things like s spoon or steak-knife, had to sit there and wait a couple minutes to ask him each time. The two cocktails I had were good - gunslinger and the one with laphroaig and cider.
Bar area was crowded and a bit noisy, but dining area very impressive. Food is always excellent.
