Glad to see that this restaurant has returned to its prior quality. The calamari was the best we have ever had. Entrees were well prepared and creative. Wine list by the glass was not on par with the food but was adequate. Service was pleasant and efficient.
I do not normally give ratings/ write ups.
The restaurant was good but not great. Servers were nice/ pleasant, but not sharply dressed or well polished.
Ambiance looked a little tired and dated and lacked cosiness.A little bit like a 1990’s hotel lobby.
Our extra dry martini ....came dirty, the beans on the pork belly were over salted for me. The pork belly tasted like it had been braised first .... but then deep fried before it got to my plate.
My wife’s crudo was great. The zucchini flowers on the tasting menu were ok.... just not that memorable.
Duck Breast and veal chop were good.
Disappointing pear tartin. Not to par!.
It was sort of a hit and miss evening!
Eddie V’s would have been a better choice.
Don’t need anyone reaching me thank you.
Tasting Menu with Sommelier pairing was amazing!! We did 5 courses, loved every single one.
2941 earns every star it is awarded. Top-notch food, perfect wine pairings, knowledgeable and friendly service. Outstanding in every way. This is the place for special occasions!
Adore this place in every context.
Absolutely fabulous experience. Went here for the first time for our 10 year anniversary and it was the perfect location. We had the March 2019 Asian Dinner Tasting Menu with the wine pairing and it was an incredible experience, start to finish. Service was perfectly attentive without interrupting conversation and our server provided just the right amount of guidance on the menu without being overbearing or too opinionated. The value dollar for dollar of the tasting menu was just incredible, and between the gorgeous ambiance and fabulous service, we have already planned our next visit back in a few weeks for my husband's birthday! Great find!
Great restaurant..good food, good price, great setting and service!
This was my first time dining at 2941 and would definitely go back. The service was awesome and the food was amazing. It was indeed a great experience!
The Asian menu at 2941 was an interesting change. The pan-Asian offerings suited us both, and we especially enjoyed the fish and pork dishes. The desserts were original and elegant. The restaurant and staff also made a special effort this birthday luncheon. :-)
We were greeted with a Rose for my date. The lunch was great. Thanks!
Everything -- from the Valet Parking at the outset to giving us souvenir menu at departure (we were celebrating an 85th Birthday) -- was done just right. The service was knowledgeable and gracious, with every food item tastefully and artfully presented.
Pricey as usual, but our party of four was happy about the very good and fresh food. Wines are, however, overpriced. The restaurant provides a a nice and elegant ambiance for a celebration, but can do better on birthday desert. Given the reputation of this place, during my last visit I was a bit disappointed by the service. It was rushed between courses, without attention on whether we finished the first round of drinks and the appetizers - I felt like we lacked the proper attention although the place was not too busy (a Tuesday evening). Our server did not raise to the usual level of expectation on attention, politeness, elegance and and sophistication. I hope the restaurant will find this feedback useful.
Very good, artfully prepared food. A great place to impress clients or prospects. Truly exceptional service.
I picked 2941 as a quiet, comfortable lunch spot to treat two old friends who enjoy fine food and wine. We were not disappointed. The butternut squash soup is as delicious as ever. The fun of watching the soup being poured into the soup dish in a beautiful golden stream is a great beginning. I combined the soup with the mushroom tartine for a lighter lunch. My companions had French onion soup, Ceasar salad, Greek salad, and we selected a couple of excellent wines and topped it all off with an eclair for dessert. The restaurant was quiet, comfortable and we stayed and stayed to talk about old times with nobody rushing us out the door. Worth every penny. Highly recommended.
Had a reservation and it still took 30+ minutes to be seated.
This a a total class act restaurant. I treated my son to lunch to celebrate his getting a new job. They took extra care with a custom menu congratulating him and a congratulatory dessert. Love this place for special occasions.
We had such a special experience on Monday, March 4th at 2941. The staff was incredibly accommodating. They printed a customized menu with my girlfriend's name and occasion gracing the first page. It was a delightful surprise for her, and the food could not have been more perfect. We happy to really enjoy mushrooms and the special dishes prepared by the chef were delightful. I was further impressed by the knowledge of our waiter as he explained the dishes and perfectly paced our meal. He also arranged for the expansion of the Rohan Duck Duo dish into a larger portion for myself. Many thanks to his kind service. Our evening ended with a special happy birthday candle on a vanilla raspberry dessert, ending our evening with just the perfect touch. It was a very memorable evening and 2941 helped make the special day something magical. Many thanks.
Will definitely be back. The pistachio crusted lamp loin is one of the best lamb dishes I’ve ever had. Our server Jennifer was delightful. The first course, Crudo, was a little underwhelming, but everything else was magnificent. I don’t drink alcohol but the bartender was able to whip up mocktails based on a desired flavor profile and they were excellent.
It was for a 60 th birthday
The ambiance is fantastic, it’s a very romantic and beautiful setting. Unfortunately, that is where the positive comments stop. Our server was not overly knowledgeable about the menu, and had to keep going back to the kitchen to ask questions. We ordered dinner off the bar menu for our kids, and even after ordering duck burgers for them, the server came out and said the chef didn’t recommend them for kids. We told them we wanted the duck burgers anyways, but we are suspicious that what the kids were served was some other type of burger. Whatever it was caused my son to have an allergic reaction.
The adult food was substandard. It started with shrimp cocktail appetizer that contained small shrimp with a tomato foam that had no flavor. It continued with soups that were lukewarm at best. The butternut squash soup was served with an apple cider foam that tasted more like a dessert. The entrees were equally disappointing. The raviolis were a tiny portion and not very tasty, the Steamed Mero was flavorless and served over lentils creating an uncomfortable taste combination. The Amish chicken was alright, probably the best of the 3. All in all, we expected MUCH BETTER for $250. Thankfully we had a gift certificate.
Have been dining at 2941 over the years. I know it had changed hands over time but the dinner choices have become disappointing. Not much was appealing in the regular dinner menu, and what we settled for was just so so. Still enjoy the ambiance.
Excellent wait staff!
We often celebrate special occasions at 2941 and we had a great experience this time. The tasting menu was really interesting and the perfect combination with the selected wines. The sommelier was informative and entertaining and they accommodated a late arrival for dessert and wine with warmth and ease. Thanks!
Had a wonderful date night at 2941. The food was exceptional as was the service. Our server, Julio, was friendly and funny. He always appeared when we needed something but never hovered, allowing us to enjoy our meal. The Seared Duck was incredible!
Burger overcooked the first time. Beautiful setting and view.
Our first visit will not be our last -- really impressed with the attentiveness and attention to detail by the staff. While I was hoping for WFPB (or possibly vegan) options, the vegetarian offerings were delicious, and they accommodated a few "hold the" requests as we aimed for some semblance of compliancy! We particularly enjoyed the preparation and presentation -- from the harvest salad to the pasta, entrees, and dessert -- all were superbly made and unabashedly delicious. The cocktails and wine options were the icing on the cake.
Food was excellent. Service was efficient.
Wonderful food and top service. Great views of lake.
2941 is our favorite restaurant, and we enjoy eating there for our birthdays and our anniversary. In fact, we ate there on Feb. 22nd for my husband's birthday. The food was excellent and the service impeccable. 2941 is exceptional.
The quality of the food is superb and the service is outstanding. This restaurant is probably one of the best in the. Washington area.
The food and drinks were fantastic. The location is great, as it is offset from the main road allowing for seclusion. The waiter was very helpful in selecting our drink of choice and attentive to anything else we needed. The main bar made one of the best old fashioned's I have ever had. Highly recommended.
I always enjoy this elegant restaurant. The food is delicious but very small portions. This time I was taken aback that the $85 Velentine’ s Day fixed menu was required on 2/17. No other menu was offered.
Excellent Valentines dinner, fantastic food, especially for a tasting menu. Excellent value
As always a great dinner from Chef Chemel wonderful staff can't rate t2941 high enough
The place in underground. The best part of this restaurant is the environment. Food is OK.
Just bring the lady, they will like it.
Always have a great experience at 2941. One of our favorite places for date night.
My husband and I went for our anniversary and had a wonderful meal. I had the veal and my husband had the fillet mignon, both were very tender. The shrimp cocktail consisted of very large shrimp. And as usual the desserts were gorgeous and decadent.
Extremely over-priced!!!. A limited menu aside from the Valentines Day “specials” being offered. Only thing good about the experience was that our meals arrived hot. Felt rushed the entire night. Service was left to be desired. Waiter had absolutely zero personality and felt we were putting him out. Left hungry and annoyed for what we just paid shelled out. I would not recommend nor would I ever go back. There are far better places with far better food, value and ambiance. Not sure what the attraction is and certainly can see why it’s fallen off the Washingtonian 100.
Overall, it was a nice spot for a Valentine's Day dinner. food was great but I'm just not certain I felt like the overall experience wowed me enough for the dollar value on the final check.
What a wonderful find in an area you wouldn't expect. Fabulous food, service and ambiance.
We will be returning for other special ocassions!
