Wonderful dinner to celebrate our 51st Anniversary AND my birthday. We always ask for Julio to be our server, and he never disappoints. The Executive Chef autographed our personalized menu for us as a memento. Fine dining at its very best!
Everything was perfect, including the service, drinks, food, and ambiance.
Get the tuna tartare and the octopus.
Great great great restaurant. Went for my birthday with another couple. The waiter was super attentive and very educated on the entrees. Atmosphere was fantastic, one of the best in the area especially for northern Virginia. Tasting menu was delicious and worth every penny.
Will be going again!!!
Superb cuisine ever, soup was delicious, salads was a bouquet of organic greens, and accompanying dressing was a perfect condiment. Shrimp salad was a delicious appetizer! Salmon was moist and tasty, black squid pasta was excellent (only a tad salty which can easily be adjusted by the Chef), and hamburger w/thick layer of beef was mouth watering, The French fries was addicting! The peach Melba was a work of art, so beautiful and not too sweet taste makes it wonderfully delicious! Noisettes was another work of art, tiny chocolate mushrooms amidst a towering chocolate volcano! We all enjoyed our lunch, attentive and courteous professional services, the scenic calm, koi pond environment, and of course a return trip is a Must! ThankU ThankU!
Gorgeous landscape, nice atmosphere. Limited menu, beautiful food presentation. Service was fairly slow, waiter not overly personable nor helpful / friendly. Our meal was enjoyable, food presentation really was the highlight
We haven't dined at this restaurant in years. It was excellent in food, wine and service. Appreciated fine service by waiter Julio but found everyone from the front desk to the staff that worked with Julio to be friendly and competent. It was a very fine evening all around for us and we will return soon.
Most amazing restaurant. Beautiful in every way. I've been gushing over the place to all my friends. Excellent food, excellent service, excellent ambiance, excellent scenery. Not cheap, but absolutely worth the money. Very romantic.
I took my wife here for our anniversary dinner. They had complimentary valet parking at the entrance. Then as you walk further down the path there are exquisite waterfalls on the right and amazing lake view on the left. Went through the rotating door and got seated promptly. They gave us a corner table with the best view. Our waiters was courteous, refilling our sparkling water constantly. The dishes were small but offered in a package deal. We got the 4 course meal and ordered a duck from the regular menu. I had to order another peachy dessert separately since my wife’s 4 course meal included a dessert.
I cannot remember everything that I ate, so I will be brief on the food details. The ribeye was super tender and melts in your mouth. The 3 piece octopus was uniquely smelling like smoked cheese and tasted like grilled gouda cheese. The foie gras was one of the best I have had; Such creamy texture with perfectly paired sauce and mission figs. The sliced duck breast was cooked just right at medium, a bit tolerable amount of blood, and the meat was really tender. My wife finished her nectarine ice cream dessert, since they gave her a tiny scoop. So, she dug right into my peachy cream-filled hard-shell dessert, right after I tactfully cracked the exterior with a spoon.
Portions were small, but overall they fulfilled our stomachs and we had a wonderful night.
Will definitely return and recommend to friends.
Appreciated the personalized menu for my friend's birthday...nice touch. Food was outstanding as usual!
Our Server was excellent as was all the staff. Thanks for writing our Happy Birthday message on our menus!! We all enjoyed our long lunch with you.
Great restaurant for special occasion. We lovee the tuna tartar and soft shell crabs. My girlfriend loved the ambiance, food and service. so if she is happy, i am happy. will definitely be back.
Review for restaurant week.
This was our 2nd time visiting your restaurant, the first time was 5 years ago.
We started our meal with a serving of disappointingly cold bread. Our appetizers were a mix of raw salmon salad in a nice portion - which I would rate quite highly, and a beet root salad that could hardly qualify for two bites - the portion was so small.
My husband had filet mignon (with a $15 surcharge) - and, while reasonably tasty - was, again, in a portion suitable for a child. My veal steak was very good.
Our desserts, Panna cotta, and some sort of cake served in a cocktail glass. Both were outstanding, very smooth, mellow and yummy. But, again, very small portions.
While I understand that for $35 price restaurant week price that it is hard to make a profit off of food - especially the fusion food, why don't you consider adding one more dish, with low cost, such as soup choice.
Neither of us would be considered very large people, but we both left the restaurant hungry. You should be reconsider your portion sizes for the next restaurant week.
Slow disinterested service. Very nice restaurant week meal.
We both got sick the next day!!! The lakeside restaurant is beautiful and the setting unexpected in a Virginia office building. The very high ceilings and picture windows were unexpected. We arrived early for our reservation, so we sat at the bar for drinks and a snack. There were two bartenders who didn't check on us and was quite difficult to get their attention. After bringing us our drinks they forgot we were there. One of the bartenders looked extremely unhappy.
We decided to be seated at our table early. The hostesses also looked quite unhappy. The server seemed upbeat and the service was very good. Unfortunately, the bottle of wine we chose was out of stock.
Presentation of the dishes was lovely and the restaurant is beautiful.
We love 2941 atmosphere and food. Always a pleasure to the eyes and the palate. However this last time, I thought the portions were too small.
We went for lunch during Restaurant Week. It was excellent!
Outstanding food, beautiful presentation, and superb service.
My guests were very impressed!!
Definitely a fun place to come for a special event. Food is always exceptional as is the service--plus I love the views!
It was the extended restaurant week. There were lots of people more than usual. The table next to us seemed to have a family -get - together. They had 4-5 children including 2 babies. One boy cried for the whole 10min. We could hardly enjoy the food and view. I don’t think this kind of restaurant is a kids-friendly-family restaurant. The restaurant should advise an age limit as it does for dress code.
Great follow-up to Restaurant Week. Good selection for the 3 course meal. Service friendly and efficient. Table for 3 OK but location could have been better. We have never seen the restaurant this full since it opened.
Excellent meal and good service - however, wine by the glass is expensive ($12-24).
This is one of our two favorite restaurants for special occasions. We took advantage of the restaurant week offerings. The crab salad appetizer was delicious. We had the veal breast confit for the main course. Neither of us cared much for it. My wife thoroughly enjoyed the peach melba, as I did the Samoa for dessert. They gave us a specially decorated panna cotta as an anniversary gift. Service throughout the meal was great, as usual, but we had to wait a little longer than wanted for the check.
Delicious food and beautiful location /ambiance. A great spot for a special occasion or a get-together with good friends.
I have enjoyed every meal I have had at 2941. The food is spectacular and is equaled by the service. The setting is beautiful. There is absolutely nothing not to like. This is a wonderful bargain during restaurant week and a delicious treat any time!
Wonderful food, service and wine, with creative and beautifully presented dishes by top chefs and staff in beautiful surroundings.
2941 is one of my favorite restaurants--especially for a special occasion lunch.
Great service, unique & excellent food! The view is bonus!
Unfortunately, service was quite poor this past visit. After being seated for almost 25-30 mins, our server never swung by to take our drink orders. Yet, she was attentive to the table right next to us. We've been to 2941 plenty of times before, even held private events here, but this was the first time we experience such poor service.
It had really nice ambiance very good for special occasions and date nights.
Always lovely! Thank you for a relaxing dining experience.
Amazing food in a gorgeous setting - a beautiful venue complimented be excellent service. Staff was very welcoming even though I was a party of one and late for my reservation! Cuisine is always very special - don’t pass up the three types of house made bread (complimentary) and dessert. Their pastry chef is wonderful and even sent a special treat at the end of the meal.
YUM! We went to 2941 for our three year anniversary and were not disappointed. The food and drink was delicious and inventive. The service was excellent. The value was great; we went during restaurant week and had a wonderful meal at an incredibly affordable price. Would definitely recommend for a special occasion or date night. The ambiance of this place is so lovely.
Great-tasting gourmet and visually artistic food and beautiful location overlooking lake and surrounded by landscaping with koi ponds and trees (incredible find within the DC beltway). Quite expensive but well worth it if celebrating a special occasion. Reserve a table days in advance and add enough time before dinner to walk around and enjoy surroundings and linger over coffee and dessert. Cost-wise, three of us went at the end of restaurant week and ordered 3-course prix fixe dinner for $35 each and also used my $25 birthday coupon and ended up with over $100 with tip but no drinks.
The food at 2941 is always beautifully presented and interesting. We had dinner during Restaurant Week, and I thought the selections offered were excellent. The portions were small, but appropriate for a 3 course dinner. The salmon tartar was a great starter. I had the veal, which was delicious, and my husband had the branzino, which came with a wonderful, lemony sauce. This restaurant is expensive, even during Restaurant Week if you add glasses of wine and coffee. But if you want a serious foodie dining experience, this is the place to go.
The staff was simply delightful. All of them! They helped get us settled down for a birthday party. They supplied an extra table for all of the flowers and gifts. They helped carry the gifts into the restaurant and out of the restaurant to our cars in a rain storm. Their support was given even with every table filled with customers. Just a delightful experience. Thank you all.
Food quality is good, but portions are very small (appetizers, entrees, and desserts)
A beautiful and stunning restaurant with chef curated meals beautifully plated and served. A exceptional wine list by the glass. Thoughtful and accommodating service from the host station to the servers. Always a delightful experience. My guest and I were torn between two entree choices and ordered one of each. Our server kindly provided two plates and serving spoons so that we could share and savor both. It made our lunch even more enjoyable. We were never rushed and were able to enjoy a leisurely lunch and conversation. Fantastic!
Lovely view, and a great value at lunch during restaurant week. All seasonal ingredients and good bread. I had a table right by the window
The food was amazing, as usual. The scenery outside the windows is lovely. The waiter was good, however, forgot about us regularly and the restaurant was only 1/2 full at 745pm.
We went for Restaurant Week and had a great time. Their menu was diverse and the food was delicious.
