For a relaxed evening with well cooked food from a small menu making it easy to decide, choose 27 for their mom’s house comfort vibes. Do ask if you’d like to be seated outside. Excellent job by the kitchen
We got the Whole Fried Fish for two and it was amazing! Would happily go back
Enjoyed 4 or 5 plates all were amazing. Ambiance was good music brought us back with old 90s R&B. Would recommend
Really unique dishes, definitely not for everyone but we enjoyed it.
The most underrated restaurant in Miami. I love this place!!
One of the best dining experiences in Miami. Their food is amazing, the atmosphere is relaxed, service is awesome and their drinks are some of the best you'll ever have.
Grossly overpriced and overrated ( sadly by both clients and food writers ).
Condescending staff, mediocre food. There was absolutely nothing good about it.
Fortunately there are still plenty of great restaurants in Miami.
First off, the servers we met were fantastic and charming. This is a difficult review as we visited for Brunch because my friend loved it when he came and recommended it - I think we came on an off-day.
We arrived and the host was fine, not very engaging but OK. It was a bit cold/windy so they informed us we could sit inside or outside but we decided to give outside a go. On second thoughts we came back in and asked if we could in fact sit inside and asked to sit in the front room where it was bright. We weren't allowed to and they directed us to a different room which no one was in and was dark and sat in the corner - not asking if we were happy to sit there and seeming like we were causing a bit of an inconvenience, we felt like we couldn't ask to move again (We noted that no one else sat where we were hoping to, and there was also an option of another room which was brighter).
Things then improved by the 2-3 servers we engaged with. They were very personable and helpful explaining the menu. But then I'm not too sure what happened, half the drink order never arrived and then eventually neither did our main course. All the while, a couple was seated in the same area - they asked to move because it was dark. Another couple was seated in the area after us, and then received their food and paid all before we eventually asked for the bill and to call it a day.
I do want to reiterate, the servers were lovely, lovely people - our's was very upset + apologetic that it didn't turn out as expected. Hopefully an off-day as I said.
Can't comment on the food because we only received our tid-bits.
My favorite restaurant in Miami! Took 9 women here for a bachelorette party and it was perfect. We had some dietary restrictions they accommodated, they adjusted our reservation time as needed, the waiter Jacob was down to order for us and did a great job, and everything was delicious as always! They recently changed their menu and it’s still absolutely amazing.
Absolutely delicious. Went there for a birthday dinner with girlfriends and everything we ordered was amazing.
Amazing service and food!
I love it when you go somewhere where the waiter takes charge-- Helped us plan an amazing dinner with a fish of the night and some of their best hits. Casual, delicious spot with GREAT cocktails. Had another drink after dinner at Broken Shaker bar after. A perfect night for high-quality food Miami style that is "un-Miami". Loved it. Food lovers will appreciate it. Someone looking for looking for large restaurants inside hotels on Collins Avenue - this place isn't for you.
Wicked good food wha!!!
The restaurant is not bad, but it's not super either. In truth, I was slightly underwhelmed with the food, cost and service and expected more. Everyone was nice but service was slow. The best thing about the place is the outside atmosphere. A good place with a Miami vibe, but nothing overly impressive.
Our food came too fast (5 minutes after we ordered) and before our drinks. Food wasn’t great. Loved Broken Shaker next door for cocktails. 27 initially sat us outside on small metal table right next to Broken Shaker and felt like we were still at Broken Shaker with the music etc. switched to inside.
I like the restaurant but when we asked if we could move to outdoor seating we were told once we’re seated we couldn’t move. There were 5 tables open so it wasn’t like it was packed.
Great food. Spotty service. Great drinks. A little too dark. Depending on where you are seated you may not be able to see what you are eating.
A lot of kids in restaurant at dinner time. Server spilled water all over table. Was overpriced for atmosphere and service.
I've been to 27 numerous times but this might be the last. The service was truly awful. The wait staff kept changing and it took an inordinate amount of time to get our food and drinks. The food quality and presentation were also not up to 27's standards. This visit was truly disappointing.
Terrible experience. Service was horrendous, I think we saw our waiter like 5 minutes in two hours? The food was meh and not cheap! Two of us had the fish and it was such a tiny portion that they were still hungry at the end. When I asked the manager about the portion size for price ($34), she seemed offended instead of apologetic. I’ve ate many nice places around the world, This was terrible. I also never write reviews, that’s how bad this was. Don’t waste your money.
Service was very slow and inconsistent. Left dirty dishes on the table while we waited for the next round. Asked for a drink list but took twenty minutes to come back. Was polite but must have been new and gettinf up to speed.
We sat outside which is a lovely atmosphere, string lights, candlelight, romantic. We never felt rushed and our waiter was attentive. More seafood on the menu than i expected, but there was sufficient variety for all, even those who don't care for seafood.
We have been 3 times, and we enjoy our meals at 27. Great pesto on the cauliflower, delicious scallop ceviche crudo as well. Octopus paella was great as well. Certainly recommend this place!
Food, drinks and service were perfect. Don’t go next door for drinks, 27’s bar is much better
Delicious cocktails and great food. Highly recommend.
Excellent food, drink and service!
The restaurant is absolutely trendy BUT the service is quite bad, the noise is absolutely terrible and for the food
The food was superb!
Bar was fun and interesting...would visit again just to hang out there.
Service was a little disjointed to start with the seating (more communication would be helpful) but the wait staff was knowledgeable and attentive.
Overall great experience!
The staff at 27 were sweet but spacy. The waiter took my order from behind my shoulder and I had to twist around to answer him. Awkward. The food was ambitious with small portions and overpriced. I ordered the carbonara pasta with what was perhaps uncured bacon. A very chic choice that ultimately gave me stomach cramps all night. My bill came to $70 for what was basically a tiny meal that caused me to fall ill. The glass of wine was unremarkable and served in an awkward, short glass that I at first thought was plastic. As a red wine enthusiast this disappointed me. The 3 falafels plate tasted okay but again, very overpriced for a tiny saucer-sized plate. A bartender’s choice mocktail which was likely grapefruit juice and pineapple juice was the price of an entire bottle of wine. The place is charmingly decorated but the bald attempts to make money at any cost were depressing. As sweet as the young staff was, and as much as I wish I could support the restaurant’s ambition, I won’t return.
This place is always great.
Fabulous restaurant that spans cuisines. We shared three or four plates and loved it so much that we went back the next night when we got back into town late, and the restaurant stayed open to serve us. Big recommendation
Worst service I’ve experienced as an adult
There was only one waitress for the entire bottom floor on a Sunday evening. She was super nice and was doing all she could, but it was obviously hard to take care of each party equally. We waited 10-15 minutes for water, another 10 to order drinks and didn’t place a food order until nearly an hour after arriving. The food was overpriced and a steak was undercooked.
It’s likely somebody called in and they were short staffed, but it’s a shame that it affected the entire experience.
I was there a few years ago and the food and experience was really good. This time, not so much. Mostly the food was just not good. Both my friend and I did not feel well afterwards unfortunately.
The food is creative and well executed. The service is totally clueless and careless, water took longer than drinks, dirty plates and glasses never picked up. There was not management or anyone around. And the place was mostly empty.
The atmosphere is great and the food was very tasty. Unfortunately, the service was quite bad. We had two servers that were each rude and unhelpful. It really ruined what could have been a great experience.
Extremely rude hostess and waitstaff. Super weird menu- nothing appetizing or worth ordering besides lobster dumplings which were good but not great. Really dark. Really rude. Would not recommend
Favorite place to drink and eat in Miami. Hands down.
Overall we had a very positive experience. The food is delicious and we had a lot of fun with the bartenders choice cocktails. It was really nice that the bartenders cocktail was available in a non-alcoholic form as well, as that is not something you typically find. We were 8 people and just shared a bunch of dishes. Afterwards you can continue enjoying yourself at Broken Shaker. Would definitely recommend for a large group.
Chef Jimmy sets the standard for a true leader both in the kitchen and in front of the House. He is the best in Miami.
