First of all service was amazing. Given how so many restaurants in Miami Beach seem to have an attitude there was non of that here. It was so refreshing. Second of all the food! Equally as awesome! We were there for brunch. Everything was sooo tasty. Only small complaint was dishes coming out at different times. We were sharing so it didn’t matter but if we weren’t would have been suboptimal.
Food was imaginative and creative, combining Miami vibes (patacones, yucca fries), with middle eastern (zaatar), South Asian (curry) and a variety of other influences. The patacones with avocado salad was unforgettable, as were the lamb ribs. We ordered a variety of dishes and nothing fell short of remarkable. The outdoor ambiance and attentive service were also unique and highest-level.
The setting is quaint and the food is more than a pleasurable experience. Great cocktails too. It’s a must-visit place!!
Beautiful ambience, the service was excellent, and the food outstanding. One of my favorite places on Miami Beach, great food and perfect place to chill at the bar next door by the pool.
Food was amazing. I wish we were staying longer so we could enjoy one more meal and try other things on the menu. My only complaint is that we were seated outside and the chairs were quite uncomfortable. But the food from appetizers to dessert were truly exceptional.
So good - it’s worth the noise. Must have cauliflower with pesto and the whole fish. The leche cake was the best we ever had.
all in one, great experience!! Amazing food and service.
To start off with - the food was very good. It was the service that was terrible. When we sat down we ordered 2 of their specialty cocktails and we placed our order, specifically telling our server not to hurry anything. She also opened our bottle of wine.
Well, needless to say, our first order of food came out in 5 minutes, yet no cocktail to enjoy before dinner. So, we started to drink the wine. By the time we finished our appetizers, the drinks finally came, along with my wife's main course, but not mine. We could hardly enjoy our cocktail. My dinner did not arrive until my wife was done with hers. Terrible.
If you go, I would suggest not order anything until you get your drinks and then only order one course at a time.
Food was tasty. I was trying to understand why the prices for appetizers and small plates were so similar when the amount of food for a small plate was much larger than what you get for an appetizer. The chairs were extremely uncomfortable but the atmosphere was nice. We sat outside where they had heat lamps (awesome because it was chilly!).
I haven't been in a few years, but a friend was visiting so I decided to check it out again. The food was over the top and the natural wine selection is top notch. We went twice in one week.. it was that good!
The food was very tasty, however the service was not the greatest. I will say it wasn't too different from the service we experienced in most Miami Beach restaurants - but our server was a little abrasive and we could tell she was judgmental of our order, which was off-putting. I'd recommend for the food but not for the experience (stick to grabbing a drink at Broken Shaker).
Good selection on menu & great cocktails upstairs in the bar. Some portions a little small but really good, especially the burger.
I have traveled around the world and eaten at some of the best restaurants. This is one of the most pretentious hole-in-the-walls I have ever encountered. Service is impersonal because everything is systems based and must be entered into a computer. At breakfast, we ordered coffee right away and it took 10 minutes to come. After finishing one cup, we couldn’t find our waitress anywhere and asked a busser to refill our cups...he couldn’t! He had to go find another waiter who then entered our order into the computer. A third waiter delivered our coffee after we were completely done with our meals. Then...for the first time in my life, we had been charged for each cup of coffee. This is plain drip coffee, not a specialty drink. 4 cups of plain coffee (including the mandatory service charge and tax) came out to be over $20! From the attitude, to the setting to the service to the food to the bill...this place is pretentious and there are literally dozens of better places to eat in South Beach!
Tried brunch this time...was pretty great.
The food is as eclectic and thoughtful as the ambiance. The dishes themselves were perfectly cooked and just amazing. Our favorite was the kale salad and cauliflower dishes. The only complaint is that the lighting was so dark we had to use a flashlight to see the menu but that is an easy fix.
Great brunch, the shawarma fried chicken benedict was so good, really interesting flavours. Service was warm and friendly, and loved sitting out in the shady courtyard.
Amazing! Food, quality, service on point 👌🏼
restaurant très sympa et qui change à Miami. ambiance top, la cuisine est bonne, une bonne adresse.
Poor service and food.
Unorganized team, same menu as 5 years ago
Food was great! Service was lackluster. Specifically we asked our main dishes to be brought after our appetizers and the servers ignored us. Took forever to get a drink
The food at 27 Restaurant never fails to impress. We have taken a group of 25 multiple years running and everyone always wants to go back.
The atmosphere around the Broken Shaker Bar is nice, but the 27 Restaurant is just ok.
The food was outstanding! Our biggest complaint is that the serving sizes were ridiculously small. We have been to many “tastings” restaurants and know quality, flavour, ingredients should be the focus not the size but a $14 citrus salad was delicious but incredibly small and certainly not shareable as our waiter told us. The catch of the day was four bites as delicious as it was but incredibly over priced.
What can be said that the “in the know” haven’t already said. This place is so cool you wouldn’t dare show up not decked out in your trendiest attire! That being stated the Freehand is not remotely pretentious in any way, it’s just that you can ‘feel’ they’re trying their best to bring the goods. It’s a free, funky amazing thing they’ve got going- the food is firing on all cylinders, the staff is amazing, the outdoor ambiance in Miami Beach in February is lush-escapist fire and it makes you wanna be just as cool.
Can’t recall when I’ve had a worse restaurant experience. Was there with my wife. My food came out 45 minutes before hers. I politely mentioned this to a manager, as well as our server. Nobody seemed to care. Nobody offered to comp anything for the problems. My wife’s dish, when it finally came out, was too salty to eat. This place is definitely not ready for prime time.
Friend was in town from out of state. The food was okay. The octopus wasn’t as tender as before times I’ve had it and the Huancaína sauce they made was awful. The fish of the day we got for $40 was ok at best. The crudo for $19 was a joke. It’s a shame because the setting and ambiance is one of the best in town.
We had a large group. The staff at 27 were so accommodating. Food was outstanding. Ambiance was magical. Highly recommend!
Simple food well done but not extraordinary
n a ‘Hostel’ environment
We went for a price fix dinner on Valentine’s Day. We had been to 27 many times in the last two years and always thought the food was superb. Quality was never an issue nor was quantity. I was blown away by the lack of quantity on Valentine’s Day. Three courses. Four oysters first course, two grilled shrimp over rice was second course (which they had called a paella- no saffron). There was nothing in it other than the two grilled shrimp over some rice and some salmon paste. A tablespoon of sorbet for dessert. Although delicious, we were shocked by how little food there was. With two drinks for three people we paid three hundred dollars and left hungry. The manager was very gracious- we should have complained when the entres was served. We will return , but never again on a holiday.
This restaurant is a hidden gem in Miami Beach! Excellent food in a very chill, great vibe setting. Incredible ambience for a lowkey date. It's set in a converted house that feels like you stepped back in time -- enjoy some delicious food, and feel like you stepped into a Mad Men episode and release your inner Don Draper. Be sure to check out the upstairs lounge after dinner! HIGHLY RECOMMEND!
Excellent service ambiance. Food outstanding. All the appetizers are tasty and plentiful...yellow tail was grilled and enough for 3 to share.
Innovative cooking, helpful service and just a great buzz
I hate to complain for something not outstanding about very good place. But I believe that truth and honest feedback is actually very helpful to other people like me. Who wants to hear truth but not only 5 stars ⭐️ reviews with only* awesome and perfect. *
So. It was a little bit loud there and waiting time for part of the order was quite long. But food was delicious even picky eater . And atmosphere is really homey.
Nice ambiance a little expensive for the food.
Excellent cocktails and fun atmosphere. Would definitely return again.
Flawless food, cozy hidden oasis like setting... servers were knowledgeable capable and extremely chill.. especially when considering gratuity is included with check. Just go, everyone.
Great restaurant, really good food. Look forward to coming back.
Excellent atmosphere and great creative food.
27 is by far my favorite restaurant in Miami Beach! It is unpretentious and cool with amazing eclectic food. The ambience is awesome, like Miami Beach or Havana in the 50’s! A must dine when in the area.
