The host called me after making my OpenTable reservation to let me know if I was one minute late they would give away our table and not seat us. First time I’ve ever had an open table subscriber contact me to notify me that I shouldn’t be late by one minute. Weird.
Poor food quality, poor service. Too pricey for the quality of food.
The calamari was good. I had the halibut and my husband had the burger. Both were mediocre at best. The halibut had a few slices of fruit on top but no other garnish, and it was tasteless like it had no seasoning whatsoever. The flavor was bland like it had been put in the oven plain. To be honest I could have done a better job at home. The truffle fries were overcooked and chewy. My husband said the marmalade on the burger was overpowering. Overall the atmosphere was relaxing as we had a nice view of the harbor, and we enjoyed the piano music, but the food fell short of our expectations, and it was warm and stuffy and a bit uncomfortable. I do think the prices were pretty fair.
The restaurant was extremely quiet, not many customers. We had a window table overlooking the harbor, very tranquil. The cocktails were very tasty. The food was prepared expertly & was pleasing to the pallet. It was a special evening exceeded only by the service & the food.
We stop here every time we are in Lake Geneva. Great experience everytime
Beautiful setting and great food. The piano player really makes it a great experience.
Dinner was inedible. Dirty glasses, hair on plate , disgusting
Our server was outstanding! Food was delicious. Everything was wonderful
Halibut, beef ribs and vegetables were dry. Reheated???...
Nice view on the harbor. Nice service.
Ed provided great service. Food was innovative and original. Average price. Food too a long time to come out. Beautiful atmosphere.
Great food and staff
Went for a Birthday dinner. Service was the worst I've experienced in my life!! We were given water and waitress did not return for 30 min then after repeating order got our order wrong. Had to ask manager for water refill and after getting order wrong forgetting the 2 salads for our table then brought the wrong salads that had tomatoes on them past their prime.. waitress then forgot cocktail that was whole reason we picked restaurant in 1st place. Everyone's allowed a 2nd chance so don't completely write this place off as I have no idea if the fault was with the waitress staff that evening or the management. But based on all the positive reviews I had read before choosing this restaurant. Our actual overall dining experience was lower than subpar. So disappointed.
4 foodies with money to spend who will not be back.
Food and service was great. Will go back for sure.
Nice restaurant but food was not seasoned well. Prime rib was bland and not worth the price. Lemonade tasted like water with a few drops of lemon and no sweetener.
Service was fantastic, our waitress was very attentive to our needs. Food was very well prepared, but the filet was a bad cut. Otherwise, everything was very nice
Excellent food and great service. Definitely will be back.
I’m a big burger fan. Well, this guys have one of my top 10 burgers. Absolutely delicious!!!
Poor waitress was the bar tender and our waitress, she did her Absolute best and we will be back.
First of all I made reservations on 3/18/2021, then asked for a nice view (window view). When we got there on Saturday there might have been 10 to 12 tables occupied. Next the Hostess sat us all the way in the back of the room. Obviously, I asked her when we got to our table, if we could get a window table. She immediately said that they where all reserved, O boy I thought that's what I did on 3/18/2021. Ok so we sat in the back, next we all ordered the Prim Rib special ($45.00 a Pop), which included soup or salad a cold plate of shrimp and crab legs and the main course. Soup was ok, next the cold plate comes out, I have never seen crab legs the size of a #2 pencil. The shrimp sauce was frozen and when asked for some melted butter for the crab legs, the waitress brings out this liquid in what looked like a shot glass, it was cold. The Prim Rib was the toughest piece of meat any of us had ever had. I did take home a large portion of the Prim Rib, because I got tired of chewing, I was going to give it to my Dog, but I couldn't do that to her, so I threw it out. Now understand, we have gone to the Easter Brunch for many years, and it was wonderful. Somebody new must be in the kitchen. I wrote a review on their website (240 West) it was pretty much what I'm saying here ,except I told who was ever in charge to take a short ride over to The Mars Resort on Lake Como Saturday night and order the Prim Rib Dinner so he or she knows what a Prim Rib dinner is supposed to look and taste like.
We came to The Abby Resort for the weekend. We enjoyed 240 West so much for dinner we came back for breakfast. We were lucky enough to have the same great waitress, Claudia! She was fantastic! Definitely recommend for a nice quiet adult night out.
Service was good. The prime rib that was ordered came out very well done. We ordered it medium rare. The server related it to her manager on duty. He immediately arrived at our table. He apologize for the inconvenience. He also went above and beyond. After coming to the Abbey for 30 on our anniversary, it still was a good experience. Thank you
We had an amazing time Our waiter I believe his name was John was excellent Very genuine very good at his job The food was amazing We just want to say THANK YOU We will be there again
Everything was Fabulous. The service, food, atmosphere. Can’t wait to go back
Great evening- Ed’s impeccable service and delicious food made our anniversary very enjoyable and memorable. Looking forward to returning soon!
great date night. excellent service.
Dinner at 240 West – Mind you, I was eating alone and the restaurant was not that busy. I had a very nice gentleman take my order (not my server), and while I placed my dessert order (to go) ahead of the table next to mine, they received theirs very fast. It took almost 20 minutes for me to receive my little box of dessert to go. My server had no problem leaving my bill before placing (or forgetting) my dessert order and disappearing. Then the same previous gentleman brought my dessert and apologized.
Breakfast at 240 West - Again not busy, I ordered over hard eggs (runny eggs make me sick), and the server put everything on my table and off she went. Of course, my eggs were runny. I never send things back, but this time I caught her attention and did mention that the order was wrong. She did correct the mistake, left the bill and disappeared
Customers not wearing masks from entrance, overhead speakers on during piano players set, no options for non-dairy, noisy overall, portions small
We were impressed with the restaurant, and especially, Yessica, our server. Very attentive and flexible with our needs/requests. We had a nice quiet corner overlooking the harbor lights and enjoyed the piano music and fire. Very warm and inviting atmosphere.
I feel like the staff was courteous but the food was just average. The shrimp appetizer was overcooked. My vegetarian ravioli was good. My wife's salmon was soft and fishy tasting. Possibly it was just an off night.
The table next to us was obnoxiously loud and kept interrupting us. The lobster was luke warm and the baked potato was overdone and cold. The asparagus was overdone and very large stalks. The steak was good and cooked and seasoned well. The Meiomi Pinot Noir was great.
overall not the best experience for a restaurant at a resort and spa. Food was good but service was slow and inconsistent.
Good was tasty and presentation was great food looked wonderful but very pricey for 2 of us it was almost $100.00 with no alcohol 1 cup of coffee and a water no appetizers either.
Birthday celebration for party of 6. Hostess was very accommodating and got us in earlier than our scheduled reservation. Music was beautiful (performed by a very talented piano and trumpet player). Ambience was great and the service was good.
Food: The French onion soup was a little too salty for everyone at the table except me. Everyone else switched to the salad to replace the soup. We each ordered the prime rib special which was a great value for dinner ($49 for shrimp appetizer (cold), soup/salad and prime rib). Overall, a good choice for dinner.
Our meal and experience was great ! Our server was very prompt and attentive, the food was amazing, items were normal fare but with a very nice twist to them also. I would recommend trying a meal here what a wonderful evening! Thank you!
The seafood sample leaked water all over us because putting ice on a napkin to serve crab legs and shrimp is the worst idea I have ever seen.
Food was very good. Would go back for sure to try other things.
Worse service from the kitchen to the waiter and mostly the manager
Service was great. Food was good but the prime rib was thin and one serving well done versus medium I ordered.
Was all can eat. Second piece was better but still thin and bring more potatoes and veggies apparently in effort to fill a person up. The fact is a 3 course meal is what makes it a good deal.
We had a wonderful dinner! I wish i would have had the option yo the full menu but it was still worth the price! Can’t wait to visit again!
