We had reservations for 7. We ordered a bottle of wine and placed our order shortly after we sat down. We waited for an hour for our food. Two tables that were sat after us were served and gone before our food arrived. Around an hour after us sitting, when our food has finally arrived, the waiter made a comment about how fast we finished our wine and later made a “joke” about how fast we ate. I guess I just was disappointed, we spent a lot of money, waited a long time for our food to arrive and were made fun of after all that by the waitstaff.
Makayla was great, Very attentive and great food .
Terrible food, service even worse. Employees completely incompetent and rude. Never again!
The pianist/trumpet player was a highlight. Plus the view was pretty and there was a pretty area to walk around outside.
We had the prime rib buffet. Everything was delicious.
It was an overall outstanding experience! We had the prime rib buffet and was fantastic! I highly recommend this place!
We had a very nice time with friends - out for the prime rib buffet and it did not disappoint.
Nice~! This place has it right - a good balance of value and luxury. Good food all the way around. Good wine list. Service was very personable. The views were lovely - the ambiance very nice.
Place was empty so it was pretty quiet except for our waitress who was probably bored and wanted to talk. No problem getting seated of course. Not much of a selection for anyone with dietary restrictions. Actually very small menu overall. I ordered the barramundi but they ran out(???) so waitress offered Mahi Mahi. It looked good but was dry. My husband had the angus burger which he enjoyed. The fries are cooked in beef tallow so vegetarians beware. Dessert-flourless chocolate cake was on the dry side but quite good despite that fact.
There wasn't a hostess, so we stood there to be seated. Food wasn't good, sent my food back. Bill was ridiculous.
Food was delicious and the service was fantastic. I had the short ribs which were nice and tender. The was served very quickly. Really nice experience.
My family had the mixed grill, it was very good. I had the mushroom papperdelle and would not recommend. It was very heavy and oily.
Wonderful presentation of food, very tasty. I still miss have the elegant dinner in your iconic A frame but I do understand time marches on and you need to utilize the space that is the best for business.
Very nice setting and the food was very good. Claudia's service was excellent.
Enjoyed the food and restaurant very much
But needed to send back onion not hot
Vegetables were only warm
We have stayed at The Abbey several times and have been disappointed when we make the choice to eat here. Last Thanksgiving, the service and food was very poor. This time our service was great and the past bowl that my husband had was good but, my order, the New York Strip while cooked correctly, was very tough. I did not even eat a quarter of it and for $31 was very disappointed.
The table wasn’t set when we were seated, the staff walked around with no emotion or care, we had to search all over for a bathroom with a changing table, and the buffet was all lukewarm, even the fresh food that was brought out. We expected much better.
This beautifully appointed dining room at the Abbey Resort never fails to provide a great meal at an appropriate price. Staff are super-friendly and helpful. My husband, who is from the South, said the barbecue ribs are the kind he used to drive out of his way for when he lived in Georgia. Excellent wine selection as well.
We've been enjoying The Abbey Sunday brunch for years, on special occasions. Always a good time for our family. All of the offerings are delicious, including bottomless champagne - a celebration topper!
Jack was a great server and was entertaining my children! The food was amazing: I had muscles, onion soup, and husband had filet trio. Delicious! Kids even said it was the best Mac n Cheese and chicken tenders.
Everything was awesome
Took 20 minutes to get the check after my spouse and toddler had left the table and our plates had been cleared. As it's a hotel restaurant, we expected high prices for convenience and nice views. But still, a kids' meal that does not come with a side or a beverage--meaning we spent $16 for a bowl of generic mac and cheese, a side and a cup of milk--with just an apology for the 20-minute wait for the check--made for a disappointing experience.
Service attempted to provide drinks in a timely manner - but all food was delayed. When the food did arrive it was floating in salt! We had to return steak and asparagus! Asked for steak to be medium - it was rare. When food was sent back (and other tables had been waiting for an hour for food - one server dropped ribs on floor as he was about to serve them) - the server told us they were all trying to make do - the chef (or cook) had given two weeks notice and didn't care what he was doing. Information that should not have been shared - and we chose to leave - - they still charged us for one entree and appetizer!
Filet Mignon was fabulous, wine was fabulous (Moscato-Italy), and cheesecake was to die for! Highly recommend
Thank you so much for sharing your experience! We are so happy to hear about your visit to 240° West.
We both had a filet that was very good. Need more items on the menu that are more recognizable.
Many of the descriptions had words that the average person does not know meaning of. Nice to be
fancy but also turns people off. More comfort items on menu needed
Very disappointing dinner. Everything was over cooked, burnt and cold. Server and ambiance were good. But, I can’t believe they served us the food that came out.
My husband and I both had steak. I got the filet and ordered it med/well. The outside of the steak was burnt and inedible. It was well well done. My husband has NY strip and he ordered it medium and it was perfect. The meal was just ok. I’ve had better
Told them it was our 2 year anniversary via open table and it seems like they disregarded that and sat us in the back corner of the restaurant, away from everything, behind and up against a dividing wall, near the kitchen. I understand server stations, but the Restaurant was pretty much empty and they still sat us in the corner, behind a dividing wall. Absolutely horrible.
To add, the gave us bread - no plates; which isn’t a big deal typically but they just exacerbated the issue.
Our food took very long to receive - the waitress did apologize for the delay.
When they brought out the food, they brought (and prepared) the wrong order for me (I ordered NY Strip).
Had to then wait even longer for the food.
When it finally came out, it was tasteless and super tough to cut. Potatoes also seemed not cooked entirely. I let the waitress know that I wasn’t too pleased with the meal as well.
Waitress felt so bad she tried giving us a free dessert; which we declined.
Needless to say, this was a horrible experience.
Being there for our second wedding anniversary - we were hoping to thoroughly enjoy ourselves. Unfortunately, we less extremely dissatisfied and will not be dining back there.
Birthday Fish and gill filet were very good. My meal medallions of filet left a lot to be desired! I’ve had medallions previously other places and they were excellent. At 240 Restaurant they were bite size and not very tender more like tough. I would NOT recommend that meal to anyone!
Food was really good. Great view of the harbor but the music was pretty bad (elevator music).
Our guests’ prime rib was moderately warm at first visit to buffet cut station. The second visit was improved temperature. Disappointing Brussels sprouts and bacon ordered as a side. Wine list by glass was moderate. Wondered if that had changed. Risotto was excellent.
Very poor service! Tables are all chipped. Need to be repaired or covered!
Yessica was wonderful. Loved our food too. Piano music was lovely but horn was a little loud.
Staff were great. They checked to make sure we we okay and that everything was good
This was my husband and my first time visiting Lake Geneva and 240 West exceeded our expectations for a delicious dinner.
The interior of 240 West has huge beams in a raised ceiling. Live dinner music adds a touch of ambiance as does the views of the harbor if you're fortunate enough to get a table with a view. Although we could have ordered from the menu, the dinner buffet for $31 was an unbelievable value; oysters on the half shell, crab, mussels, tilapia, pasta primavera, fresh vegetables, prime rib, full salad and dessert bars. Good wine selection with a special featured wine of the night. We did have a hard time finding the restaurant inside of The Abbey but it was totally worth the hunt. Note: Find and enter the main lobby entrance. Definitely going back!
I would recommend it because of the ambiance. Most of the food is good but the prime rib was a little tough and the crab legs didn’t seem very fresh.
Very good breakfast and good service. The restaurant need updating but nice view of the marina.
Steak was chewy - had better. Shared wild mushroom parpadelle with table - delicious! Overall - meh!
