You're accustomed to great food at the restaurant, now experience it in your home. Whether it's a dinner party, quiet luncheon or drinks and nibbles, we're here for you. If you're lacking space for a large party, you may rent out 221. A great space for rehearsal dinners, family reunions, and holiday parties.
We love to have brunch at 221. Years ago Wolfgang Puck awarded a winning round to Eliza Gavin on national television because her omelette was so perfect ! It still is! Her blueberry muffins are great too . Luke is doing an outstanding job of managing a top-notch team of people . We will be sad when branch season is over !
Great evening to mark a special anniversary. We’ve been several times before and had outstanding food every time., We had a beautiful table up front, yummy food as always, nice attentive server. Preordered gf cake was spectacular! Thanks for making my parents 50th wedding anniversary celebration great.
Who doesn’t love an excellent dinner by a renowned chef in a cool old house in Telluride...
One of the best meals we’ve had. Sitting on the back patio on a beautiful night was so nice. Thanks, we’ll definitely be back again!
Amazing meal. Would definitely go back... so many amazing things to try. Wish it was closer to where I live! Server was very nice the whole time even though we were the last table in the restaurant.
This restaurant used to be one of my favorites and it has gone down hill this season. Sadly.
Excellent brunch as usual. The 40oz Rose was a great recommendation.
Exceptional food, excellent service, always!
A table for 6 on back side porch was quiet, out of the way, and yet we never had to search for a waiter. Food is interesting, but not too far out. Vegetarian menu a real bonus. Brown butter cake the best!
Went here on the recommendation of a friend as we had never been to Telluride before. We were there for the annual Telluride Jazz Festival, so having dinner at 221 South Oak made for a nice ending to our very nice day of Jazz. Our food, wine, service, and the overall ambience were all excellent. The restaurant is set in a house off South Oak St., making for a lovely setting. While a bit pricey, by comparison to other Telluride restaurants, it was definitely worth it. Would both highly recommend this restaurant to a friend and definitely return the next time we’re in town. Do note that reservations are highly advised depending on the season.
Wine list is terribly expensive. Would be nice to have a few more reasonably priced choices.
Food is delicious, and a nicely varied menu. Not a very kid friendly place, but that’s fine by us!
WE really enjoyed the varied and unusual menu. Our fave in the week we were in Telluride!
Great food, service and ambiance! Eliza and Luke are amazing! This is a local’s gem and Eliza is at the top of her game! Luke is a good manager too!
Sunday brunch was terrific! Our server, Daryl, was personable and attentive. The food was creative, well-presented and delicious. Beautiful setting, great service and excellent food; worth a return trip next time in Telluride.
Eliza, Luke and the whole 221 team are amazing. Sunday brunch is the best in town. Friendly, warm and inviting staff make you feel like you are there at their personal invitation. The food is creative and delicious. One of our favorites.
Our waitress was the best!
221 South Oak has become our favorite Telluride restaurant. Great ambience, consistently excellent quality of meals. Chef is amazingly creative in combining flavors. Beautiful presentations. Service is above & beyond five-star.
My wife and I went to 221 during our honeymoon in Telluride. The food was incredible, and the staff was fantastic. They really went above and beyond to make our night special. We will definitely be back next time we are in town!
All very good and nice atmosphere. Tasty and creative menu. One of the three best in telluride.
The wait staff was very attentive but not intrusive. They were also well versed in the menu and wine list and had an extensive vegetarian/vegan dining menu. It was a very pleasant and enjoyable evening.
Always love the place. It does appear the kitchen timing is slightly off. Just sayin.
Our first visit was great, second visit just mediocre...this last visit made me have no desire to return. Time between appetizer and dinner was rediculously long and dinner just not up to par. Won't be going back...☹️
Service was poor. Food was creative but some dishes lacked flavor. I had heard great things about this place but was pretty disappointed with my meal overall. Would probably give it another shot but had much better meals while in Telluride and much better service.
We were on vacation and chose 221 South Oak for a nice dinner out. To start my husband had the watermelon beet salad, very refreshing. I had the watermelon, fennel, corona salad that was the perfect summer salad- bursting with layers of light summer flavors. For the entree, my husband had the trout and said it was excellent. I had the bison strip and it was cooked perfectly and so delicious. Our server recommended the perfect summer wine, the California Smoke Tree Rosé. She was so attentive, but not invasive. Also, we splurged and split the chocolate mousse dessert. Great way to end the meal! Thanks for making our last night in Telluride so memorable!
My wife and I enjoyed a wonderful anniversary dinner at 221 S Oak. The food was excellent and not run of the mill preparation. The ahi tuna tartar appetizer was unbelievable.
Everything was AMAZING! Everything!
Excellent meal again at 221! Unique combination of flavors with a great presentation. As Paul Prudhomme said, there should be a party going on in your mouth when you are eating good food. 221 will get that party going on.
Always delightful, however the service not up to the usual standards
We have had many meals there. This is - place with great food and a creative kitchen that never stops surprising.
The regular menu is extensive with too many good-sounding things to try in one visit. Everything we've ever had here has been excellent. On top of that, the vegetarian menu is exceptional. We're not vegetarian but have tried some of the selections on various occasions just because they sound so good, and we've never been disappointed. This place is a real find for vegetarians who usually get short-shrift in restaurants.
So many vegetarian choices for us. Great food, creatively presented. Terrific service. Dined on the patio on beautiful evening. Five stars.
Spectacular bartender, food even better. Best brunch in town. Complimentary blueberry muffins were delish!
Wonderful food in lovely home atmosphere......bustling crowd......creative, interesting menu
This was my second time eating at this restaurant and I have to say the experience was even better the second time. The food here is absolutely phenomenal and the service staff is incredibly knowledgeable and attentive.
Always like 221 That night was not as good as many other dinners. Martini was one of the weakest ever and Halibut was not memorable. The tuna tartare appetizer was greasy always
It was our first trip to Telluride and my 56th birthday (6/7/18). With all the rave reviews and top rating we booked dinner there. We asked the waiter which two appetizers he liked the best and one of them was the octopus. It was dull and chewy and even fishy tasting; definitely not fresh and full of flavor. I got the scallops and my wife got the Wild boar loin. The scallops were quite good but the loon although cooked medium rare was very chewy and very disappointing. Overall not a good first impression and likely not going back. Just being very honest ..happy birthday!
Was thrilled to drag my non-foodie boyfriend here for our last dinner in Telluride. He was equally as blown away as I was in everything from the setting, the cocktails and of course the food! Aside from telling more folk to visit Telluride, I will absolutely send them to 221 South Oak for dinner!
What happened? Did this chef change? This was an embarrassment and a let down after I talked it up to friends. I’m confused. This used to be the best place in town behind Siam.
Best brunch in Telluride. Great food, nice staff and enjoyable atmosphere. I had the soft shell crab Benedict and it was delicious. We will be back again. Only problem is that 221 brunch is only in the summer. Wish it was year round.
Every part of our dinner was amazing! We dined on the patio and had an amazing server. The fried green tomatoes were delicious as were the trout and halibut. Would definitely recommend, and make sure to have a reservation- they were busy.
