22 Broad Street
Always a great dining experience, food, service, selection is one of the best in Maine
First time there. Very impressed. Food was delicious. Great martini. Love the ambiance- Victorian. Service superb.
We are regulars at 22 Broad St - we're in the area every few months and eat here almost every trip. Setting = sweet old country home, Food = awesome taste, texture, presentation, and portions, Service = friendly and efficient. What's not to like? Recommend for any time.
Great Restaurant, wonder what Italian food
We love it, everyone is so nice and accommodating the food is delicious and the service is wonderful !
We have visited 22 Broad Street on several occasions. The food is always wonderful and the martini selection creative and delicious. They have an extensive wine list as well. Their staff is always friendly and attentive, although we seemed to have been sharing our waitress with a large group so got a bit less attention than usual. The hostess did step in and see to our needs so we did not feel neglected in any way. This venue is a charming antique home that has been converted with individual dining areas in each room. There are lovely details in each room and hardwood floors making for a charming, cozy dining experience. The acoustics in an older building can be a bit challenging so it does get a little loud at times depending on the size of the groups and types of diners. We make a point of visiting every time we are in the area, 22 Broad Street is a "must" for a great dining experience in Bethel, ME!
Great food, great service, great Martini and wine selection.
Our dinner was excellent, the service was spot on.
Fabulous food, drinks and service.... but by April it's time to put the Christmas decor away! A wonderful meal just the same.
Excellent Italian cuisine in a beautiful old house. Great service and value.
We had a great meal and great service. Thanks!
Excellent meal, great service
Always great cocktails, wine, food, service and ambiance at 22 Broad Street. Our go-to place in Bethel, again and again.
we have been many times and love 22 Broad as one of best restaurants in Bethel however this time my wife ordered a ribeye steak that was bad (very tough to even cut never mind eat). they agreed that it looked bad and offered to make a new one or give her something else. she decided she did not want to wait because i was already eating. they did not charge for steak and offered free after dinner drinks which was nice but our evening out was kind of ruined at that point. probably would not order steak there again.
We were thrilled to return (and went twice last week) after several years to find the food, staff, and service as EXCELLENT as we had remembered. The prices reasonable, and kids and adults pleased with the experience! Thank you and we will be back again.
we were a group of 8 women out for an enjoyable evening of food and comraderie. the food was delicious and the service, impeccable. our server, mark, gave each of us individual attention. it was a most pleasant evening. we will certainly reviist 22 broad street.
Food is delicious, service very good. I had the haddock - it was delicious.
This was the 2nd time at 22 Broad and it was just as good as the 1st, we were lucky enough to get the same waitress ( Pam) she is wonderful! We will be returning as soon as possible !
The service and menu were exemplary. The presentation and the dinner entrees were impressive. The ambiance was hindered by the noise from the adjacent pub, however. It was an anniversary celebration that was somewhat disappointing due to the raucous crowd in the tavern.
Fabulous place and fantastic food. We made reservations while we were there for a birthday party.
Very nice atmosphere, food great, good choices and service was excellent.
Please tell John that this was the third time we ate there in the past 11 days during our recent ski trip . We simply haven't found a better restaurant in the area. I met him at the Barking Dawg during a previous visit and he was kind enough to cut me three of the most delicious New York sirloin strip steaks. As a result, he has managed to make my wife and I, along with our friends, regulars at Broad Street.
Continued success, we will see you in a few weeks!!!
Great place! We were warmly greeted, had a comfy table and attentive waitress. So many good things on menu, it was a difficult choice. Lovely experience.
We really enjoyed the food and ambience. We had great service as well. Highly recommend.
One of the few good restaurants in the Bethel/Newry area. We started with the clams casino, we got six nicely seasoned claims. The dinner portions are very generous, we had the chicken piccata and ravioli special. The ravioli was 4 cheese and it was a huge homemade delicious portion. Look forward to returning.
Cozy and welcoming after a full day on the slopes. Fireplace adds to the charm of this little gem. Great service, amazing food and good value.
We had a great dining experience at 22 Broad Street. The dining room was cozy, warm, and inviting.
Our server Carley was wonderful and attentive and gave us great advise on what to order.
We tried the spicy calamari, stuffed mushrooms, Ossobuco and veal parmesan and everything was delicious. The portions were very generous, the prices were reasonable, and all the staff were pleasant and helpful. I only wished we lived closer so we could become regulars!
We go to 22 Broad Street every time we are in Bethel. It is by far the best restaurant in the area and one of our favorites overall! Don’t miss an experience like this, the food, service and company is the perfect start and ending to your vacation or night!
Nice experience. We dine here one or two times once a year when at Sunday River. The food is always good, love the bread and olive oil. My husband usually orders the Sunday dinner option and I usually get the eggplant or lasagna. All three are very good and very large portions. Our waitress, I think her name was Patricia, was very attentive. Looking forward to our next visit.
It was our first time to Bethel and 22 Broad Street. Overall we had a great dinner. Martinis were yummy and service was pleasant and attentive. Parking was left to the street as there was a lot of snow and I found the sidewalk out front very slippery with not much attention to clearing it. I also found the red sauce to be on the spicy side. All in all it was a nice dinner.
Tough for us being from the Boston Area and having so many good choices for fine dining. That has not been our experience in Maine, for some reason the food up here just isn't as good as it is at home. Got a Steak, a porterhouse, I think it was $55.00, it was not good. I hate when I'm cutting a steak and I can feel that pulling sensation on the knife. I know right away I'm not in for a good meal. The Potato's and the greens were great, the wine was great, the Salmon and the Steak were not really edible. This was our go to place up here too, we eat there every time we come up to ski. Guess we are shopping for food at home and cooking in from now on...
We read an article in North Shore Magazine suggesting 22 Broad St. So glad we went. Everything was amazing!
The service and food in our three visits has been really good on every occasion. This third visit was a Wednesday evening and the noise level was particularly high. Perhaps more so because it appeared every table was filled. I was with a group and we were in a room with other groups with much good and lively conversation going. And - yes, I recommend this restaurant highly and will return.
Such a horrible dinner. The food is so mediocre. I mean, really pretty bad. The "rollotini" - blech. Tastes like it's from the freezer section of the cheap grocery store. And just slathered in red sauce. Everything just slathered in red sauce, perhaps to try to mask the taste?
The service was so horrendous. It took over an hour to get drinks - shirley temple for kids and a glass of wine for adults. And the server was totally out of it - maybe high, maybe just having a bad night?
Our children had been served their dinners and after a while the server came over to ask, "do you need anything else this evening?" with no acknowledgment that we hadn't received our dinners. When we said just our dinners, she looked flustered and disappeared. After another 20 minutes we asked for our dinners to go.
Not a word of apology, not a word of even "thank you". Just simply "i'll take the check when you're ready"
really odd place
and crappy food
the space is super charming though, but I'd say, don't bother
We celebrated my husband's birthday here. The food was excellent (we split the porterhouse for two) and the wine list had a good range (the bottle we ordered was also very good). We had a table to ourselves by the front door and the server was very attentive and sweet to our girls (6 and 9) who were with us.
We enjoyed a fun and delicious valentine birthday dinner! The Vesper was the best I ever had!
The food is always excellent but the service was really bad this visit. Maybe because it was Valentine's Day but we waited 45 minutes for our table despite having a reservation and then another 45 minutes after ordering for our food. Usually the service is good. The food is always excellent.
We really like 22. Service could've been quicker but over all dinner was great....as always
Went there for Valentine's Day. My husband ordered the veal chop they gave him chicken parmesan we told him that was not what he order they brought it back and within 3 minutes brought out of veal chop. the meat (both his meal and mine) was extremely tough it was as if they cooked everything earlier in the day and kept it in a food warmer
22 Broad is an outstanding place to eat when in Bethel. Pam was the best waitress and took very good care of us per usual. Would highly recommend eating there especially for special occasions.
