Pretty and cozy on the inside with fancy tin ceilings and a working fireplace. great martini bar with interesting options. The Italian food is just what you would hope for in a place like this, authentic, tasty, and inspired! Service is always friendly and prompt.
Once again a great meal at 22 Broad. We brought friends who were visiting from CA and it lived up to our bragging.
Right across from the Bethel Inn after a long day of XC skiing. Saturday night so place was full, we were sat up stairs. All very nice with some calm ambient Frank Sinatra when suddenly Ice Cube came on :0. After the 3 line of lyric (with a few not family friendly expletives) the plug was pulled. From that moment on silence the rest of the evening. Not a huge deal but we were sitting near a large family and had to listen to every detail of their conversations. Other than that I highly recommend 22 Board.
Another enjoyable meal! This is our favorite restaurant in Bethel. Very consistent and never disappoints.. We can’t say that about the other restaurants in town. Thanks 22 Broad!
Second time at this restaurant - good experience!
Food great, service very accommodating.
Family and kid friendly.
Restaurant is in an old house - let them know if you need ground floor seating.
Always so good! The staff are amazing. Above and beyond for service!
Beef bracciole was excellent
Our family was excited to try 22 Broad Street after being unable to get a reservation on our prior trip to Bethel earlier in the winter. 22 Broad Street does a nice job creating a cozy, intimate atmosphere for diners, while also being welcoming to families. My salmon over mixed greens was perfectly cooked and delicious; my son devoured his gigantic portion of chicken parm (the waitress did warn him it was very large), and my daughter appreciated the availability of a kids menu for her dinner. The side of green beans were delicious as well. We'll be back here on our next trip to the Bethel area!
We had a really good meal on a busy Sat night. Lobster bisque was excellent and so was the Haddock. Vegetables - asparagus and string beans were cooked perfectly, slightly crisp and not overdone or soggy. Definitely will be coming back.
Great find while staying at Sunday River. Wine list had some great choices at a reasonable price! Lobster ravioli was out of this world...a must go.
I made a reservation for a Monday night 60th birthday dinner. We were seated at a lovely table, the service was wonderful, and the food was excellent. My special requests were accommodated. I would definitely recommend 22 Broad Street to my friends.
Wonderful spot to celebrate my husband’s 75th - good seranading !!!
Wife said it was the best carpaccio she has ever had, and she's been around.
amazing - my third time back and it was just as good as the last time - high quality food and the best steaks in Maine - get the Porterhouse - you will not be disappointed!
Food was terrific .. especially appreciated the warmed plates. The pace of the meal was perfect. The server (Pamela) was outstanding.
Excellent restaurant, food was very good and authentic italian
It was great to be ten miles from home but feel like we were somewhere new. The food was good, service excellent, atmosphere cozy. Make a reservation if you go on a winter weekend. It’s jumping. Good energy.
Being Italian, I am always cautious about Italian Restaurants.
22 Broad is the real thing! We highly recommend the eggplant and beef Braciole
22 Broad Street has great food, good ambiance and good service. Whenever we go to ski Sunday River we always make a point of having dinner here.
Ths was our third visit. We are fans. Love the menu. Recommend the beef carpaccio. I ordered the shrimp scampi-not quite as good as usual-the warm chocolate cake was great.
Our biggest complaint is the location of the bathroom. It is practically in the bar and is awkward to stand there when it is full-which it always is. Would recommend a bathroom renovation!
Lovely space, great service, decent food, but quite warm. We were seated in front of a roaring fireplace. We were roasting, as were other tables that were seated farther away from the fireplace (yes, it was a point of conversation among various tables). Fire was pretty, obviously, but sweating through a dinner that wasn't inexpensive was unpleasant.
Very good and a standout for food I Bethel area. Real Italian in the land of public food. Will return.
We always enjoy a great meal here. Staff are friendly.
Love this restaurant it is quaint the service is good. The people are friendly. Most of all the food is really good.
My husband and I had our 24th anniversary dinner here. The service was very good and the ambience was very nice. It was quite cozy with the fireplace going on a cold night. As we ate early in the evening there were not many customers yet so the noise level was very good for quite conversations. The food was very good and plenty of it, we took home enough for another meal the next day. The prices were on par with other restaurants of it's kind. Overall a very nice experience that we will probably do again.
A wonderful braciole that was worthy of my grandmother from the Bronx. I was stunned to find such an authentic Italian place in the Maine! Generally you end up with some variation of egg noodles with ketchup! Not at 22 Broad, wonderful, authentic Italian at a fair price. Reasonable wine list as well!
Small tables and big tables. Good for friends and families. Near ski resorts. Terrible parking and, obviously, no public transportation!
Good martinis, service was ok - late on serving wine, steak was excellent and cooked as requested. The seating is a bit cramped. One of the better restaurants in Bethel.
Quaint Classic New England atmosphere with a warm real fire in the fireplace. Great wine selections, delicious bread/oil, tasty Caesar salad, perfect size entrees (rack of lamb special was wonderful) and delicious deserts. Best meal we've had in Bethel in a very long time.
This was an Italian-American dinner in a cozy antique setting. The drinks were excellent and pasta dishes were above average.
Fantastic New Years Eve dinner. Everything delicious. Staff worked well together, they were all helping each other out. Nice to see. The sun room was lovely, quiet and cozy. You know I'll be back.
Amazing meal and great experience
The service was prompt, consistent and dinner was delicious. My family, which is a mix of teens and adults, liked everything; arancini, bacon wrapped scallops, chicken parmigiana and steaks. Dessert was delicious and we liked the Key Lime pie best.
A New Yorker has a very discriminating taste for Italian food. 22 Broad does a decent job at having good italian food but not great. It remains a good alternative to the many “pub” options near Sunday River ski area. I would avoid the red sauce plates as it is very thick and more like “Ragu” from the jar.
Great otalian in bethel!
A favorite dining place of ours. The Food is outstanding and the service is prompt and friendly. The wine selection more than adequate and complements the menu nicely. It’s costly rather than expensive but well worth the price.
Ate at the small bar. Delicious food, very attentive and nice bartender/manager. Would highly recommend.
the service was fine but the food was very bland and over cooked. i had the Chicken Parmesan which was cooked so long it was dry and looked like it had been sitting around for hours. my husband had the Linguine with Clam Sauce and it too was bland like they just opened a can of tomato sauce with no seasoning How disappointing for Christmas Eve dinner.
Everything was really good except the food. The food was ok but not as good as we expected given the reviews.
Excellent food quality. Ate here on two different days during week. Had baked stuffed shrimp special which was nicely prepared with a seafood stuffing. Shrimp were fresh. On second occasion split the eggplant crispy lasagna which is a very large portion. They also have a good selection of appetizers. Ambiance is nice with a working fireplace.
