About

This restaurant is permanently closed. I believe that the responsibility of a chef goes beyond simply having 100% confidence in the food that is served. To me, the quality of ingredients is just as important as how the dishes look, smell, and taste. This principle has led to my insistence on using organic vegetables and natural meat. I combine fine ingredients with French-Italian methods to create my own style of cooking, with emphasis on great taste and healthy nutrition. Enjoy small plates, wine, freshly cooked al dente pastas, fresh seafood, and natural meat entrées. -- Chef Hideyo

We will miss 2117 when the chef retires. We have been eating at 2117 through these last 20 something years, and the two restaurants before this one. The service is always friendly and there are many choices, especially if you want a light meal. Lately we have been eating their special "Sawtellini" pasta which is freshly made and nicely chewy with many choices of toppings, especially Asian choices. Always a good experience.

One of our regular dining places for more than twenty years, and we will sorely miss it when it closes at the end of the year.

No No No Don't do it.
Empty when we entered at 8:30. Stopped here after a nearby early movie. A few more people came in.

Asian-Italian fusion is a description but confusion is more like it.
Jalepeno pasta (homemade spaghetinni) was blah.
Crab cake tasted like it had been frozen.
Hamachi sashimi is edible but boring.
Spicy tuna tartar was blah and boring.
Nothing fusion, more boring and confusion.
We got the feeling even the staff was bored and lacked personality like the menu and food. (and mediocre service with a slow restaurant)

What a fabulous surprise. This Asian fusion restaurant is a true neighborhood gem. The crab cake was full of crabmeat, not like some that are mostly breading, but this one was dense with crab meat yet light and perfectly crisy. The Ahi tuna salad was delightful topped with a tangy, earthy delicious dressing. Their home made pasta with mushrooms is a must.

Their roast chicken is always special. The tuna tartare was devine and the appetizer so large, could substitute for a small main. Fish excellent. In a strip mall, but don't let that deceive you. Food as good as anywhere

Fabulous gourmet food. Only complaint is price of Pelligrino. 7 bucks for a 25 oz bottle. Two bottles, $14. Too much.

Great as always. We enjoyed our soft-shelled crab.

A hidden gem. On of the most creative mid priced places in L.A.

This is the start of the soft shell crab season. It is particularly good here. We shall return many times between now and October.

Really unique approach to almost every dish and brilliantly executed as well. The chef is to be commended for actually accomplishing what others only promise. Our waiter Andrew was the icing on the cake with skill and charm.
