We were made very uncomfortable by numerous suggestions to rush through our meal. It was very busy and you felt like they wanted to you out asap to get someone else at the table.
This was one of our 'go to' places but not after this disappointing evening!
We have eaten at this restaurant a number of times over the years when in Whistler and always thought it was a little gem. We were disappointed this year though by the rushed service and saltiness of the food. I know it’s a popular spot but it felt like there was a rush to turn tables and get the next diners in. The portion sizes also seemed smaller on the main plates.
Service was good and they were able to get us a table ahead of our reservation time. We ordered a steak dinner and the short rib special which with were both mediocre and a little cold. Food could use some attn.
Great homely style food
Plenty of it and great flavours
The food was delicious but the menu was a little limited as to sides. All entrees are served with the same sides. Overall it was a good experience.
Entrees came over rice, which was not described on the menu and was surprising to us since we’re trying to avoid grains. A dish tiger prawns and scallops came with small shrimps and small scallops, not what we expected. Understand they are trying to make a profit but if they can’t do so with tiger prawns and scallops they should make dishes with Elsa expensive ingredients.
Great restaurant, attentive staff, great food and good ambiance.
The host was on the ball and the servers attentive without being too intrusive.
The food was excellent. It is important to make a reservation before your trip. We had one, but liked the food so much we wanted to go back, but everything was booked up.
Whenever I go to Whistler I always book to go to 21 Steps. The menu is creative and with plenty of variety. My biggest issue is I always want to try more dishes than I can physically eat, which usually ensures another visit within days! A great place, lovely and knowledgeable staff, and nice wine list.
Climb the "21 Steps" to the second floor! You'll be happy you did! The Bison Ribeye Steak was cooked to prefection.
Birthday dinner! It was fabulous as always!
My son and I had the bison steak and he had salad with kale and I had the squash soup. All of it was delicious.
The patrons were a younger more my sons age (twenties). It was a happening place.
Every time we go to Whistler qe book 21 Steps because it is usually one of our favourite places to eat. This last visit was not so great. While the service and ambiance were great like usual, our food came out WAY too fast and seemed like it was precooked and had been quickly reheated to serve. We were seated at 7pm and by 730pm had already been served drinks, appetizers, main entrees, and dessert! None of which was flavorful or fresh like their usual food in prior years. We had planned for a romantic dinner and were disappointed with the "fast food" experience. I know they are trying to seat as many tables as possible but hope I hope the food goes back to the way it used to be!
Amazing server. Food was outstanding. Loved the ambiance. Will be back again! Wish this restaurant was back home!
Hervorragendes Essen, guter Wein. Preis - Leistung passt.
Ein paar Tische weniger im Raum wäre schön gewesen.
Alles in allem echt gut.
Good quality food, at a good price., as was the wine. The table we had overlooked the high street and was comfortable. Service good. Pleased we booked it.
3 out of 4 loved our meals. We love going to this place!
Great food and location! Definitely recommend making reservations as the line was long waiting for them to open! Good sign of a great restaurant. Food was delish!!
Great visit! Superb food and service, which was attentive and professional without being stuffy. All six of us had different entrees, and all were top quality. Loved the place.
The food was great. Service excellent. Nice atmosphere.
Good food, excellent cocktails, nice decor, walking up 21 steps no too bad after skiing.
Food was fabulous, I had the prawns and scallops, excellent. Wine list is not extensive but has reasonably priced options. Service was great and the atmosphere is good. In the heart of Whistler Village, very nice dinner
Perfect food, great place.
Terrible! Worst meal I have ever paid for!
We had a perfectly fine meal. The appetizers were quite good. All five of us ordered completely different dishes and they came out looking almost exactly the same: meat in a brown sauce with the same exact veggies and a starch. That is the sign to me of a singularly unimaginative or overtaxed kitchen, possibly both. The food was cooked well enough - it just was not very interesting. The room was extremely loud. I wouldnt put this at the top of my list to return.
Delicious.. great service !
Amazing flavors & sauces, fabulous food. We had the fried goat cheese and bacon wrapped filet for appetizers...yum! Dinner choices in our group were rib eye, seafood pasta, and small plate prawns, everyone was happy with their choices. Highly recommend if you can get reservations.
Disappointed that we had a 5:45 reservation that we arrived on time for and our party of 4 was wedged between a large party and wood column. Our chairs were backed to two other parties. Have dined here regularly and always made an advance reservation. Food is solid and good value for dining in the village.
salmon was amazing. low sodium and cooked to perfection
Food was good, but we were very rushed, in as much as my appetizer plate was still in front of me as they brought our main course. Basically cattle in, cattle out!
we had the main course special surf and turf , fillet steak and lobster tail , it was fantastic. dessert let it down a bit but would definitely go back.
Great food and drink menu that had good gluten free options for my son.
Well priced and well presented food.
Lovely food. Great atmosphere. Fantastic service.
Fabulous value kids meals (with steak being one of their options)
Changed our reservation a few days prior from 2 ppl to 3, and when we arrived they had no recollection of it. I am about 95% sure our service after that was affected. Saw our waitress twice, people who sat down after us and ordered after us got their food before we did and were gone before the waitress even had the nerve (after over an hour) to tell us that it shouldn’t be too much longer. Umm? The food was excellent and I think it was fair priced but the service we got was absolutely horrendous for such a highly spoken about restaurant
Food was delicious and came out quickly. We had a great meal with friends and would definitely recommend this place!
Amazing experience! Great service, perfect drinks and exceptional dinner! Kids loved the mussels and I the steak
Food cold and average.
Kids pizza seemed reheated frozen pizza...
Food was OK, it was my mothers 80th birthday and there was no acknowledgement of this at all which was somewhat disappointing. lovely atmosphere and location.
The food and wine was excellent. We had a great time.
Great food and great service for a family outing. The filet, the salmon, mushroom, pasta and pork schnitzel were wonderful.
