So my husband and I took our very good friends out to celebrate both of their birthdays as well as their wedding. We started with appetizers of French onion soup and lobster bisque, both very good. We ordered dinner and that is where it went downhill. After a half hour or so, they bring out three of the dinners and said mine was coming. I didn't order anything extravagant or difficult to make; lobster tail. How hard is that? They proceeded to eat and I waited and waited. Finally when I realized they had almost finished their meals, we turned to the maitre'd and inquired. His response was very flippant and rude. He said, oh they are preparing it. I proceeded to tell him to cancel it, and he just started to walk away. My husband asked him to send the manager over and he said fine and then walked away. Because we were celebrating, they brought us desserts followed by my lobster tail. I told him again I didn't want it 3 times, and he insisted on leaving it, saying it was not going to be charged to us. So he left it and each of us tasted it and then we took it to go. And, the manager never bothered to come over and talk to my husband. 21 Oceanfront ruined what was supposed to be a great night of celebration. Shame on you. I will never go back.

This was an opportunity to see what a California steakhouse has to offer, and we were not disappointed! Very well prepared steak, seasoned to perfection! The service was also great, recognizing each party and their privacy; extremely attentive.

Amazing evening filled with great service from our very talented waiter Zach and his assistant Eric. The food is off the charts great!! Baseball Cut swordfish was amazing!!!!

Everything was nice but crazy expensive

We arrived on time and were seated immediately. The assistant manager was gracious, friendly and had a great sense of humor. The service was attentive without being overbearing. The menu choices were ample and interesting. Our food choices were delicious and served just right.
One suggestion. The crab cake appetizer could use a more spicy and more generous sauce.

We had THE MOST AMAZING TIME dining here! Our table was perfect, Monika, our server, was one of the best I’ve ever seen! Every part of our dinner could not have been better. I would ABSOLUTELY come here again!

Lovely. Classic, romantic, classy interior, cozy booths, fancy without pretension, attentive service, and delicious food. Expensive, but superbly prepared food and very good portions. The only thing that doesn’t belong in the restaurant are the two tv’s at the bar! They have no place there. Other than that, really perfect.

I took my wife, daughter and another couple out to a special dinner to celebrate my wife's birthday. 21 Oceanfront definitely was a special treat and did not disappoint. The food & service was top notch. The staff was very hospitable and accommodating. It is a bit pricey but worth it for special occasions, for which we will definitely be back in the future.

This is one of our “go to Restaurants when we visit Newport Beach. Consistently wonderful.

We went on a Thursday night in Newport, and it wasn't very busy - maybe about eight tables -
so that was a bit of a surprise. I think that due to the sunset views, maybe earlier in the evening it would have been busier. The staff were nice taking us to the table, and our waitress was friendly and engaging. I had the lobster tail, and it was excellent. My gal had the crab legs, and she said they were the best she'd ever had. We tried a couple of new cocktails (vodka with mixer and champagne float) and they were also excellent. We were too stuffed for dessert. The decor seems a little dated, but some would consider it a French style restaurant. Even though it wasn't a 'happening' place that particular night, we will certainly go back for the food and service!

The service, food, drinks and overall atmosphere were all 100% on point! Luke was a fantastic server who had the right answer for everything, worked with us to customize anything, never left us with an empty plate or drink and had one helluva staff with him to ensure that we were treated like kings. Truly some of the best food I've had in a very long time and with the live musician in attendance it was an experience like none other, thank you to the 21-O Team!!!

Booked this place online for my wedding anniversary and asked if we could get a window table not thinking it was possible last minute. They delivered on the table and we enjoyed an amazing meal with equally amazing service. To top it off they surprised us with a free desert with a Happy anniversary message. We will be back for sure. Lovely room very warm and elegant. We just returned from rough crossing from Catalina and were cold and wanted hot soup and salad .And a good red wine.
Our youngest age 14 wanted steak and Caesar salad which he eats everyday. Thought the strip was good!

We are on vacation and this was the best restaurant we visited so far. It is quaint in the way it evokes old time classical restaurants - banquettes, wallpaper, wood, tuxedoed staff. Everything was perfectly done. The food - my filet mignon and my husband’s scallops- was perfect. Every course was prepared and served in the best, most professional way. Cannot commend them highly enough. And delightfully, the music in the dining room was Doo Wop. It was all great.

Great service and excellent food. Ambiance is terrific. We travel to Newport once a year and we make sure we dine at 21 Oceanfront.

Second opportunity to dine at 21 Oceanfront, and we weren't disappointed. The receptionist, Sarah, confirmed all the pertinent information related to our reservation, and our waiter, Roberto, did a superb job ensuring our every need was met or exceeded during our dining experience. Great location, fantastic ambience, and if you're fortunate enough to catch the sunset, you will not be disappointed. We'll definitely be back soon!

One of the best prime filet steaks I have had and I have had allot of them. Service was perfect. Only complaint is they were sold out of rib eye.

Our first time and was a magical experience from start to finish, they had a red rose on each table for the end of V- Day and the food was so fresh and delish!

Although this restaurant came highly recommended, my husband and I both agreed that the food was mediocre at best. Service was slightly better, but for the price and location, I expected their seafood to be better. Many more restaurants in the area are superior

This place was amazing! The food was great, and the atmosphere was even better! The guy who was singing and playing the guitar was phenomenal and his music selection was really good. Service was also wonderful!

The food was excellent, and Monika, our server, is both a true professional and a delight to interact with. They were also very accommodating when we requested to come earlier than our reservation time. Of course, we understand that outcome may not have been possible given different circumstances, but the friendliness with which our request was received was all that could be expected.

My wife and I enjoyed the Valentine's Day Special - very friendly and first class service from all their employees - very nice and quiet this time of year around the Newport Beach Pier area.

Went here to take my wife out for her birthday. Everything was good until we went to leave. We spent $200. After we walked out the doorman came after us and asked to search our doggie bag stating that the manager said we had taken a plate/charger. The charger wouldn’t have fit in the bag in any event. After he confirmed no bag We then went back into the restaurant to confront the manager. The manager and server stated that they had no idea what the door man was talking about. This was embarrassing and ruined the whole birthday celebration.

Food was fantastic but our waiter was awful. Though the food was fantastic probably would never go back.

Best steak ever! Great restaurant. The only downside was we were seated in the dining room in the bar area. It was very noisy and difficult to carry on a conversation.

We make 21 Oceanfront our "go to" place for special occassions! In the 20 years we have never been disappointed!! The service is top shelf, along with the food, cocktails, wine list and the view. Gracious and welcoming staff make 21 Oceanfront our premier dining spot even with the hour drive.

I took my nephew from TX here for dinner. It is one of his and my favorite restaurants. The Prime ribeye steak were excellent, and the service was friendly and efficient.

The restaurant is very nice and sits on a fine location near the pier in Newport Beach. The food portions were horrendously small, not worth the price, but everything did taste great though! If it was more reasonably priced or portioned, this would be a great place to go.
