   Welcoming and attentive ,but not intrusive, staff. Food beautifully presented and very tasty. Nice surprise with a birthday gift for my wife.

   We've been coming to Café 21 for at least 10 years and it remains consistently good. Our two course set lunch was excellent value and the choices were all so interesting that I had trouble deciding what to have, not usually a problem for me. Two courses were plenty and we were pleased to have very good bread and butter - so many restaurants seem to have dropped this or it is only available as an extra, which feels inhospitable. We had a very enjoyable bottle of Puglian Primitivo, although it would have been helpful if the wine list showed the strength of the wines: 14.5% at lunchtime could be a bit much for some. Service was as attentive as usual, and our Lithuanian waitress was cheerful and enthusiastic on her first day. Only a handful of tables were occupied, but it was Thursday lunchtime and business lunches are less frequent than they once were. It is impressive that Terry Laybourne continues to maintain the quality of his significant empire with a superb emphasis on high quality produce and ingredients.

   Great welcome and got the window table requested. Food was great, lovely cocktails. Service was excellent and friendly, no airs and graces. Fantastic afternoon out, really special.

   Great Sunday Lunch in a buzzing environment. I had the scallops as a starter and the beef as a main and the quality was superb. We were well looked after by all of the staff.
