21 Main at North Beach
Enjoyed restaurant week
I have stayed at the North Beach Plantation Resort many time but haven't eaten at the restaurant. To my surprise I have been missing out on a wonderful dining experience. The atmosphere was very nice, romantic were my wife's words. The food was excellent, my steak cooked as I asked and it just melted in my mouth. The service was very good waiters are very attentive. Will definitely return my next trip to the resort.
We tried 21 Main for 2020 Restaurant Week since we had heard good things. Unfortunately, it was disappointing. 3 of 4 of us order the fried green tomato appetizer, and there was just a sliver of tomato that was burned, with a huge dollop of pimento cheese. My husband got the gnocchi with lamb ragu. The ragu was over salted and there were 3 little gnocchi. We all ordered the 6 ounce filet mignon. My husband's came out rare as he requested, but mine was almost rare and I had ordered it medium. The mashed potatoes were mildly warm and nothing exceptional, and the grilled asparagus was inedible...floppy and mushy. The beignet dessert was fine, except my husband's beignet was not cooked through. The Rose' wine was just "ok"...there are better wines out there, especially since that Rose' is about $15/bottle and they're charging too much per glass for the value. And the wines listed for the pairings did not provide the year for those wines. Anyone who knows wine wants to know the year the wine was produced. We will not be back.
Restaurant week menu was excellent! Took guests to 21 Main twice for Restaurant Week. The first visit was delicious!!! Loved Victoria King!!!
A wonderful dining experience.
We had a wonderful dinner at 21 Main. It was the last Saturday of Restaurant Week so the place was packed but the service and food was very good. We will go back another time that is not Restaurant Week. My husband and I both had the lobster fondue appetizer, not fans. It had a very grainy texture. I would like to try their lobster bisque and think that would be better. My steak was cooked correctly and was more tender than it appeared, think my knife was dull. My husband enjoyed his filet and banana pudding cake while I enjoyed the beignets very much.
Our meal including the filet, red snapper were outstanding. Lobster fondue as a starter was superb! Charlene our server was terrific and kept the water and wine glasses full. We finished with the banana pudding cake which was so tasty! Will bring more friends and family back again!!
A beautiful place to enjoy good food with friends. We came during restaurant week so the prices were great. Our server Amanda did an excellent job of making things run so smoothly. Great job of offering suggestions and making our night of dining so pleasant. Admittedly the noise level was a bit high but it was not so much we could not converse with our friends.
We went for restaurant week and we ordered off of that menu. The portions were a little small but the food was very good. We will definitely be back.
Outstanding dining experience! Everyone from the hostess to the bus staff went out of their way to ensure everything was to our satisfaction. The food was excellent and came out hot. Will definitely return!
Excellent evening! Great food and service. We came during Restaurant Week and it was our first visit. We will be back!
We come here every year during convention and look forward to a wonderful meal. This year we were very disappointed and won’t be going back. The steak was very good that was not a disappointment. The oysters were terrible, the worst we ever had. The asparagus wasn’t even cooked it was cold hard with no taste. The mashed potatoes I think were instant mashed they were not real potatoes had no taste. Service was ver sub par. When I told the hostess when we left she really didn’t care. For spending over $200 on a meal that was not good we will not be coming back. Very disappointed not sure what happened to this place since last year.
Don’t go with a group over 6 as we went with a large group and I pre-ordered the appetizers to try and cut down the time on the entrees. I was seated 15 minutes late as I could see our table was ready as he said he wanted to hold us to help the kitchen out. That absolutely didn’t work. It took an hour to get entrees and we were so late I asked them to give me check and we skipped desert. Btw. This was a business dinner.
Eveything was impeccable! We were warmly greeted upon arrival which set the tone for a fantastic dining experience! Our party of 9 all ordered from the special restaurant week menu and everyone enjoyed their selections and wine pairings. Our server, Trina, was very knowledgeable and attentive.
Our experience at 21 Main was outstanding. The steak was cooked to perfection and the chicken was out of this world. The ambiance was world class, and our waiter was knowledgeable and prompt. We will definitely be back and definitely recommend it to our friends and visitors.
We celebrated our Anniversary. Everything was very nice. We ordered from their Restaurant Week menu. Food was great. We’ll be back
Excellent food, good wine, superb service, but we were seated beside the wait station. The wait station was noisy and chaotic which was very distracting to what should have been a relaxing dining experience! That table should come off the dining room floor.
We tried 21 Main during Restaurant Week. The restaurant is beautifully appointed with tables separated nicely so you didn't have to hear your neighbors' conversations. The food was delicious and expertly prepared. Steaks were cooked just as ordered. The wine pairings were on point and dessert was just the right ending to the meal. Our waiter was attentive from start to finish. Overall, an outstanding experience. We look forward to dining there again.
We only had one complaint for the restaurant week menu and that was the brussels sprouts were so hard, could have used a little more cook time. Everything else was great. Especially the lobster fondue.....loved it.
Our server Tyler was great, he gave good recommendations that we loved. Definitely made the experience better than just the food.
Wonderful meal and wine pairings. thanks for participating in Restaurant week
Not worth the money. The venue was cold and noisy. The appetizers were over-fried. The entrees so-so. Wine was expensive, for a short pour.
It was restaurant week and pretty crowded. They did an excellent job with taking orders and getting food out. We fid not feel rushed at all during our dinner.
Prices are a little on the high side but food quality and atmosphere make up for it, especially on special occasions.
The food was not so great and the service was not good
Possibly the best filet I have ever eaten. Prepared perfectly and nice sides. The appetizer and dessert were excellent as well. Lovely atmosphere and our server was attentive just enough. Thanks for a wonderful dining experience.
My wife and I look forward to coming every year for Restaurant Week. Again this year we were impressed. The 3 course meals and wine pairings were special! We really love this spot!
Have dined there many times and always find it excellent. Was especially impressed with their selections for Restaurant Week.
Lobster fondue was perfect with generous chunks of lobster and a rich creamy bisque. Filet mignon is perfectly cooked with nice charbroil crust. Our waitress, MJ was very attentive and knowledgeable of the menu and everything about the restaurant's history. We have already made another reservation including inviting another couple to enjoy this wonderful dining experience.
From the appetizers through the desert, everything was excellent: fresh, beautiful, delicious.
This was our first time to this restaurant even though we are locals (never had much opportunity since we live on the opposite end of the beach). We were very impressed with the atmosphere and of course the food. The food is fine dining but very much emphasizes southern comfort food. The bacon is amazing, the lobster Mac and cheese is RICH but so good. I had the NY strip and it was cooked perfectly with a very nice and even char on the outside. We really enjoyed our dining experience. Will definitely make an effort to come back!
The food was incredibly good. NY Prime steak melts in your mouth. Great wine selection. Dessert was sinful.
This was my first visit to 21 Main and I was very impressed. Our server was very friendly and informative. The food was great. I will definitely be back.
Service and Food - Very good. Will definitely dine here again. Ambiance is very nice. A little noisy due to the open ceilings. Restaurant Week 2020.
The food was the best! The staff were wonderful!! Such a great dinner!
Everything was first class. The food, the service, our table were all perfect
Great place to celebrate New Years Eve!!!
EXtremely pricey. Guests were in shorts, flip-flops, jeans and ball caps. Not what we expected. Very loud. Did not see price of drinks on menu. If you want an entree under $35, do not make a reservation. I will say our waitress was very attentive and nice.
Waiter was excellent and most informative. Meal was very good
Amazing dining experience. Steak was amazing and appetizers were delicious.
Simply the best on The Strand every time. Fine dining and 5 star.
