21 Main at North Beach Ratings and Reviews
Our server was awesome and very on point! She didn't crowd us and was very enjoyable! I had the delmonico Robert, it was seasoned well, the demi glace was great, creamed spinach and mushrooms were great. Had a bottle of stays leap petite stray for $79, I think that is priced properly. Thoroughly enjoyed my evening and will be back!
Awesome food and superb service. The young lady was attentive and chatty. With experience she will be first rate... Don't take that as a complaint. I had the pork chop which was incredible. Only disappointment was the bar was very expensive @ $15 with tip for a martini...the drink was very well made. Tasty!
Service was a little slow. Restaurant was very busy given it being off season. Server was very attentive and keep the drinks coming while we waited on the food.
Overall it was a great experience. The shuttle drivers from the condos were very nice. If you stay at North Beach you need to have at least one meal.
Our first time at 21 Main and we were pleasantly surprised. Was looking for a place before seeing at show in the area. 21 Main was in the paper as participating in Restaurant week, so I figured let's give it a try. Place is clean, everyone was friendly, food was fantastic, and our waiter Tyler was great.
We were there for New Year’s Eve dinner. The service was erratic as they seemed disorganized in service. We got water and waited 10-12 minutes to see the waiter again. They were busy but there were open tables - so not packed
Good was very good but not special. Waiter didn’t know the food when we asked about the fish - vague and said he hadn’t seen it.
Oh well, not bad but nothing special.
We spent our New Years Eve dinner at 21 Main. We arrived a little early where we were immediately greeted. Our table was not ready yet so we spent some time at the bar. The restaurant was really busy and the staff did a really nice job of handling all the customers.
When seated our server Ashley was exceptional. We started our meal with the she crab soup. It was delicious. I would of preferred it a little hotter but it was very flavorful. The choice of wine suggested by Ashley was on the money and went very well with the meal. I had the petite filet and it was a really nice size with the added crab meat and the baked potato which was more than enough for both of us to share. My wife had the petite filet and a side of the shrimp. In short it was a great evening. The service and food was exceptional. For a busy New Years Eve evening the restaurant did a really nice job of handling all the customers. We will be back for another wonderful evening.
"Twas the night of Christmas" for a return trip. Memo to self: Avoid Christmas Day. Too crowded, hurried and noisy with families. Happy for them; not what we wanted as it impacts the atmosphere.
A return evening with Jeff serving us in a friendly, efficient and professional fashion even if quite busy. Began with the Seafood Appetizer for Two on ice. Great! Ample amounts of shrimp, oysters, crab claws and bites and a split lobster tail. All fresh and tasty with great sauces. Bravo!
For entrees we chose the Petite Filet and the smaller of the two Delmonico Ribeye. Both cooked precisely as ordered, medium and medium rare respectively with a light bit of seasoning. Outstanding prime beef, deep flavor, juicy and tender! Opted for two sides; a large baked potato and sauteed mushrooms; plenty of each to split. The salted potato was fresh, hot and flavored just right. The mushrooms were especially good with light flavors of butter and possibly a red wine. Whatever, they were outstanding and not, as often the case, overcooked and mushy.
All was accompanied by warm, soft yeast rolls and salted butter.
21 Main is a fine dining establishment with formal settings and atmosphere. For our tastes, Christmas Day is not the time for a relaxed, formal dinner. Not their fault; gotta make it when you can!!!! Will make a return visit, just not on a big, family holiday.
The bar setting is quite comfortable and relaxed and they have a most respectable and varied wine list.
I love this restaurant. The Service is first rate. The food excellent. We have gone 3 times in the last 5 months. This time for Christmas. Really Special. The wait staff very knowledgeable. I don't eat meat she had the risotto changed. Can't say enough about how much I enjoy this establishment.
Went to 21 North Main on Christmas Eve. After reading all the great reviews we were very disappointed in our dining experience. Restaurant was beautiful, waiter was personable and efficient. The food was not that great except for the surf and turf entrée which was perfect, according to person who ordered it. Drinks were good. Colossal scallops were no where near colossal and mashed potatoes tasted like instant potatoes from a box. A steak ordered was stringy and fatty. Maybe it was not the usual staff preparing dinner that night but was expecting much better for the prices charged. Live in area and had always wanted to go there. Over-rated on this occasion.
Fantastic and perfectly prepared filets for myself and the kids. Dry age Kansas steak wasn't necessarily worth the extra cost, just meh. Lobster Mac is magnificent. Disappointed that the online menu listed creme brulee however it is currently not on the menu. The turtle cheesecake was a great substitute. Great wine list.
Always phenomenal!! This is one of my favorite steak dinners in Myrtle Beach (or anywhere). Totally on par with Ruth's Chris. Service is always wonderful. My only complaint before had been the lack of really good desserts if I wanted to indulge but now there is a new pastry chef....and WOW. Cant wait to go back
We were in town from Cleveland Ohio and I researched places that were open for Thanksgiving Dinner on the Grand Strand website. This place looked really good and the website said the charge for Thanksgiving Turkey dinner was $26. It ended up being $38. That was dissapointing. Food was good. Nice place, but pricey.
We spent Thanksgiving dinner there . We were very impressed with the ambiance and service . The white tablecloths are always a winner !! Allison was a wonderful, knowledgable and conscientious person who took excellent care of us that day ! We will surely come again !
Excellent seafood, steaks well prepared , season/sauce topping choices and excellent service . Cocktails and wine list also excellent . Recently moved to Myrtle Beach from Phila. area and this will definitely be our go to spot. Lobster bisque soup is 1st rate best , seafood special was well put together. Would rate this right up with the top steak places. Price what you would expect at top steak/seafood place Morton`s, The Palm . Food is better than Ruth Chris
My favorite local steak house is New York Prime so that is what I was comparing this restaurant to since their price points are very similar. The evening that we dined here they were not very busy. We were seated as soon as we arrived. Our server was friendly and provided good service. We shared a wedge salad and both ordered their 8 ounce filet. The wedge salad was one of the best that I've had. Their filet was good, but in my personal opinion not as good as the one that I get at New York Prime. My only complaint was with the drink that I ordered. I like to have a glass of scotch with my dinner. My preferred scotch is Dalwhinnie, which they did not have so I ordered Glenfiddich instead. It arrived in a small glass with one large ice cube. The amount that was in the glass was very little, when I commented about it after we got our check I was told that the bartender said it was their standard 3 ounce pour. I don't know how much there was, all I know is that when I order my Dalwhinnie at New York Prime it comes in a larger glass and there is twice as much scotch in the glass, for the same price that I paid. I will stick with New York Prime as my choice for a very nice steak dinner out.
FANTASTIC experience! This was out first time dining at 21 Main and from the minute we walked in until the minute we left we have exceptional service. Our server was super attentive and made recommendations from appetizers to dessert that didbn't dissapoint. I can't wait to go back to try something else off of their menu!
Food and service were excellent. Layout is very open, doesn't seem that the space was originally designed to be a restaurant. Table of 14 next to us was extremely loud and raucous, inappropriate for a upscale, fine dining restaurant. Other patrons in shorts and tee shirts.
