Welcome to 200 Monroe, a unique restaurant delivering capstone-learning experiences for Hospitality, Culinary and Tourism Institute (HCTI) students at Frederick Community College.

Join us for a high quality dining experience as our students, under the guidance of our Executive Chef and Maître d’ instructors, showcase their hospitality and culinary skills in our open-kitchen restaurant setting. Our exclusive 3-course dinner menu offers your choice of selections including starter, entrée, dessert, and beverage, for an all-inclusive price between $30 and $38.

Open during restaurant hours, our all-new bakery counter also offers fresh baked goods made by our Baking & Pastry Arts students for purchase.

We are located at 200 Monroe Ave in Frederick, MD. Please note, we can only accept credit card payments and are unable to accommodate food allergy requests.

Wonderful experience with student cooks & servers in an educational institution, so not directly comparable to a private restaurant. But we had a wonderful meal in a very nice setting, and would highly recommend.

Fabulous ,service was excellent. We ordered the soup which was a great cream of mushroom and the Monroe salad which was wonderful. For entrees we chose the chicken piccata and the cioppino. The chicken was moist and great . The cioppino was over the top ,the seafood was cooked perfect and the sauce was so good I could have drank it from a cup . For dessert I ordered the Apple croustade which was excellent and the other side of the table ordered the tiramisu that turned out to be great .
Can't wait for next semester . Great job.

This was our first time going to the Monroe Center for a meal. It was a fantastic experience. The food was fantastic and the price can't be beat, plus you are helping future culinary students! A win for all!

A very clean and enjoyable place. The food was fantastic with some minor complaints of flavor and uneven temperature of food. Servers are a mix of very professional and quality servers, and amateur and rough around the edges waiters. All in all, our experience was good, but I'm not sure if the great quality is consistent enough in terms of service.

What a gem of a restaurant! Only negative is that it is open only on Thursdays.
We enjoyed the Monroe salad and the Crawfish bisque. Followed that with the Beef Brisket and Cioppino, delicious! As there is always room for dessert, finished the evening with Tiramisu and Flourless Chocolate Cake. Sparkling Lemonade was a hit too!
Cudos to the college, students and staff. Keep up the great work.

Read the reviews of this restaurant keeping in mind that it is the college training facility. With that said, the food was quite good, service was novice and friendly. Not perfect, but better than some 'real' restaurants I have visited lately. Worth a visit.

Great price for an evening out. The food could be served anywhere and appreciated. We enjoyed the seafood and pasta dishes. Some of the servers need polish, but given that it is staffed by students learning their craft, that is very understandable.

We received a warm reception when we entered the restaurant and were seated promptly although we arrived 15 minutes early. The menu carried a nice selection of entrees without being overwhelming. Service was polite and fast. The waiter was very attentive. The filet mignon was cooked as requested, very tender and delicious. The halibut was moist with a crispy outside in a flavorful sauce. The salad was good but nothing to rave about. The lentil soup was a winner. It was nice being able to observe the food being plated; it gave it an intimate atmosphere. Can't wait to return.

Excellent food and value! Waitress could have been more attentive. Our glasses were empty several times for long periods and silverware was missing for 2nd and 3rd course. Overall a very good experience.

This student-run pop-up cafe offers great value to diners. The food is excellent, starting with well-sourced ingredients. It is a set menu of a starter, main course, dessert, and coffee (or tea.) Since it is run by students, there can be hiccups. Our server was very warm and amiable but not versed in server etiquette. For example, she always took my husband's order first, did not check on our water glasses, and recited the ingredient list when we asked what the soup of the evening was. It was also a little distracting to have a TV monitor directly behind my partner's head (although I could see my dinner as it was plated). Otherwise, I can't wait to go back in the spring. I am glad that FCC gives this opportunity to its students.

This is a restaurant that helps the culinary arts and hospitality students at Frederick Community College learn their craft. The experience, however, did not feel like a learning environment. There were a great selection of dishes. My husband had the steak and I had the gnocchi. We both enjoyed our dishes. Our server was friendly, energetic, and attentive. We would definitely recommend to others and would come back again.

Nicely done student run/teacher supervised dining experience. I've taken that into consideration in my rating. There are a few rough edges, but their desire to please makes up for it. Halibut was excellent. The gnocchi dish had an overly rich cream sauce. It is a tremendous value and we'll return in the spring semester.

My husband and I had dinner at 200 Monroe after reading an article about the Hospitality, Culinary, and Tourism Institute at FCC. 200 Monroe provides an opportunity for students to experience all aspects of a restaurant operation. The students prepared and served the food. We enjoyed interacting with our server and the supervisors who were present. It was a great evening. The food was well prepared, well presented, and delicious. We were impressed with 200 Monroe and will return.

Loved the atmosphere and it was such a nice experience to enjoy a 3 course dinner with my daughter at a reasonable price. Would definitely go back and recommend to friends
