20 Brix Ratings and Reviews
This was a very unique and excellent dining experience. From the minute we walked in the door, the service was wonderful. We felt so welcomed and had that “right at home” feeling. The food continued to add to the experience as all the dishes are like nothing you’ll find anywhere else and were delicious!! To top everything off, the setting and ambiance were that of a romantic, intimate night, while still allowing for a casual and comfortable environment. We will be back!
I love 20 Brix but it just seemed a little "off" Friday night. The best thing that we all shared was the Mushroom Bruschetta. I can't even describe how delicious this is! It's a must-try. Two of us had the Grilled Shrimp & Scallops with grits. The flavors were terrific, but was just lukewarm. The Chicken Sausage Bolognaise I was told was just "ok" & the Skate Wing was "incredible".
We always enjoy the great wine list and the atmosphere. Will definitely go back.
A nice vibe and very good food. My only criticism is that on both occasions I've eaten here someone in the party had food that was served lukewarm rather than hot. This definitely detracted from the dining experience and is especially concerning since it happened twice.
Our Valentines Day date night experience at 20 Brix was fantastic! Food was fantastic, we split a bottle of wine, and had some macaroons for dessert. Our waitress was also super nice and helpful. We will definitely be back.
P.S. The bacon wrapped figs are awesome!
Again a lovely evening with terrific food. The appetizer special was a Cajun combo that was amazing. Service is spectacular and the setting is beautiful. This is a Wine Spectator awarded restaurant. There is a reason they’re celebrating their tenth anniversary.
Service was amazing!!! Food was delicious, however very very rich and heavy....not my favorite all of the time, but regardless very tasty. The wine they were promoting was expensive...a Pinot noir for about $46 a bottle. Not sure what that was about...we ordered martinis which were yummy. I do love this spot for a nice night out. No one is stuck up...and the restaurant is warm and inviting.
A friend who had not seen each other for a while had dinner on a Monday evening. The restaurant is open until 10:00 pm, was mostly empty when we arrived at 7 pm, and was empty except for my friend and me by the time we paid our bill. After paying, we spent another 1/2 hour talking and drinking our wine. At 9:40 pm we got up to leave, stopping at the bathroom first, which required taking an elevator to the lower level. We commented to the staff our intentions. When we came back up and the elevator doors opened, the entire restaurant was pitch black. It was 9:45 pm. My friend stated that she hoped we weren't locked in, and a voice came from the darkness and said the doors were still unlocked. We had to gingerly make our way to the door in the dark. I found this to be extremely rude and unprofessional of the staff to turn off all lights before diners had left the restaurant. I have been to 20 Brix a fair number of times in the past, but I am not certain I plan to dine there again after this incident.
We had a great server. He did a good job of not rushing us, spacing out the meal and letting us enjoy our evening. Only thing was at the end of the meal, he shook everyone’s hands at the table. I am not sure why he felt the need to do this, but it was very awkward. We respected him completely, and had a great meal, but that was completely unnecessary. Especially during flu season.
Nice selection of wine. Food selections were creative, flavor was good, temperature was just warm. It would be helpful to have wait staff that are familiar enough with the menu to be able to answer ingredient questions for customers dealing with food intolerance, food allergy, or who are vegetarian or vegan. Another option would be to identify menu items on the menu itself that contain common allergens or identify any vegetarian or vegan choices.
First visit to 20 Brix; wife & I thoroughly enjoyed the ambiance, food/beverage & service. Jeffrey guided us through the extensive wine list along with providing starter, entree & dessert recommendations. My flat iron pork dish was prepared perfectly; my wife stated her salmon dinner was the best ever experienced. 20 Brix is now on our short list of “must return to” restaurants!
Second visit here and it wont be the last. The staff is amazing (Tony was great at helping us with wine selections). Menu changes with local offerings and we look forward to it every time. Meat and Cheese board was delicious as was the Scallops and Shrimp dish. Cant wait to try again soon.
Another great dinner at 20 Brix with Chef Paul. My husband and I split the fried quail and the seafood special (crab-stuffed sole); my son had a beautiful strip steak cooked to perfection. My only (long-standing) complaint is that the beer menu is lacking. All of Cincinnati is gung-ho about the craft beer movement, and yet there are still less than a half dozen craft beer offerings. Perhaps they can start carrying something from their new neighbor, Little Miami Brewing??
20 Brix is absolutely the best restaurant we’ve ever eaten in. They have a great menu and the food is always fantastic. We love the ‘farm to table’ approach and the food is always beautifully presented. 20 Brix has also become our Christmas Eve family tradition!
Our server Robin was great as well!
Chef Paul does the best menus. He changes it up seasonally, uses fresh and local ingredients when he can and has an impeccable palate. We love all of his menus and have yet to be disappointed. It's great for date night, for groups and get togethers. Great staff and service.
Very nice place. Relaxing and out of the busy big city circus. Definitely suggest trying it out for the “first-date” meetings and the special occasions. We will be going back, been there a few times and have never been disappointed. The menu is always changing so there is never a “same-ol, same-ol” dining. Staff is excellent and for the wine-lover, huge selection.
We arrived early on a Saturday so noise level was very low. Our food was good, servers were very attentive and friendly. The menu items and dinner specials were explained so we didn't have any questions. Pricing for beer and wine were a little pricey for the venue. Overall, it very good, but it would not be an every week destination point for me.
