Great spot for lunch - it is usually nearly empty so you get lots (but not too much) of attention in a lovely, serene setting. Definitely sit on the lower level. Great food and service. Expensive but not outrageous.
Always pleasant, go to place. A bit on the expensive side compared to surrounding restaurants but consistently great food. Wine list small but well done.
We had a business appointment downtown and decided to try 2West because we’ve had fine meals at Ritz Carlton hotels in other cities. We were not disappointed. Our lunch was very good; the plate presentations were attractive, and the staff was friendly and welcoming. A broiled salmon was served with a really tasty beure blanc sauce, and there were other details that enhanced the lunch. One of us ordered the NYC Restaurant Week Lunch, which was a real bargain. One of the desserts was a sticky pudding served with vanilla ice cream. I’ve never before had this dessert in a restaurant outside of England. Very good.
Excellent as always
The dining room and food service was not really up to Ritz standards. The waiter was very unengaged - and the dining room was very mediocre
Great spot for an Anniversary brunch. Food was outstanding. Meal came out quickly. Immediately seated. Eddie our waiter made the experience pleasurable.
Delicious breakfast - pancakes and French toast are a must.
Quick, Friendly and polite service.
View curtailed by scaffolding but food is good.
Excellent service. Delicious meals. Crab Cakes are a must.
Excellent food with limited menu. Good service. M'aitre 'd, Milan, was very attentive and made us feel special by checking in with us several times. Enjoyed the experience.
Great neighborhood brunch place; we live next door so easy and kid friendly also!
Went there for brunch, it was very quiet and relaxing. The decor was modern but luxurious and the 3 course option was a great value. You would expect teeny portions but my friends lox and bagel app was legit an entire meal in and of itself! I had the flank steak which I partially took home and I couldn't believe it tasted even better the next day! Everyone was attentive and friendly. My only complaint was that they mixed up our orders when we asked for it to be wrapped up. We both ordered the same dish, but ate different amounts. Since we've had leftover mix ups at other places before, we knew to check after they packed the food up for us. I would for sure come back for brunch!
The service was wonderful but the food was merely average. The Mahi Mahi/grouper sandwich was dry and was more bread than fish. The breadbasket was cold. The shredded pork sliders tasted like sauce from a jar. The cheesecake with strawberries was quite nice though.
A hidden gem ! The food was fresh, delicious and perfect in every way. The ambiance was made to order. The wait service was top notch. I highly recommend this restaurant.
A comfortable, refuge from the noisy, crazy New York restaurant scene. Food was excellent. Beautiful salads, and huge portion sizes (maybe too huge, but they did offer to pack it up for us to take home). I could quibble with one or two dishes. e.g. too much butter on the brussels sprouts, but the bacon marmalade was tasty. Most of all, the ambience was lovely. Restaurant is very handsome with great views, but no so elegant that you can't relax. The low noise level was refreshing. You can hear yourself think, which is increasingly rare in NYC.
2 West made my anniversary very special!
Absolutely wonderful! Service impeccable-Edward rivaled the best servers in any 5 star hotel around the world! Food delicious!!! Looking forward to returning!
Had a great birthday dinner at 2 West. The staff was extremely friendly and gave us a nice dessert to celebrate the occasion.
Great, friendly servers
Service was good. Atmosphere was standard as was the menu. Very much a hotel restaurant. Nothing particularly special here.
Stopped by 2 West for Restaurant Week and very much enjoyed the Crab Cake appetizer and the wonderful Skirt Steak entree cooked exactly to the temperature we requested.
Our server Wendy was friendly and helpful.
They had a great bento box special to celebrate Chinese New Year. Very friendly service including our host Nigel and our servers Tino and Miguel.
We arrived at 10:35 for our 10:30 reservation. They finally seated us 15 min later despite the restaurant being about half full. We got to our table which they just st set, to find it was set for 3 instead if 4
The Steamers appetizer had a wonderful broth and the French Onion soup was solid. The steaks and lamb chops were a little pricey but they were prepared just as we requested and we enjoyed them very much.
Great staff - our servers Tino and Wendy were terrific.
Went with friends for brunch and found 2 West on OpenTable as it was close to their neighborhood in the Financial District. Looked forward to the crunchy French toast. We were immediately disappointed with the ambiance of the place, which is typical corporate hotel style with no real character.
Service was typical of this kind of hotel scene, a bit lagging but nothing worthy of a full-throated complaint. Brunch was mediocre and would have been fine if it came complementary with our room but we actually live in New York and had to pay for it.
I will say that it is a decent place if you do not like cramped spaces. There was room if you have kids and need to take a stroller inside, etc. But would not recommend.
The food was very good.
The staff was very friendly and helpfull.
Top class dining!
Extraordinarily bad service. No one seems to know what they are doing. Wrong order came out twice and one woman kept bringing over food asking if it was ours.
Additionally, no one in the kitchen listens to the orders so you don't get what you asked for.
Want water? Forget it. Your waiter disappears and you'll die of thirst.
The food is OK bu absurdly overpriced. And I do mean absurdly.
You'll be far better off eating some where else. It's shocking how bad the experience was.
The wrong orders brought to table over and over.
Way over priced.
How do you get an order like -- plain bagel with nothing on it wrong???
Why do we have to continually ask where the bacon is?
This place is truly a new low in BAD service.
Super overpriced Mediocre service and just OK food.
The Ritz Carlton - 2 West is always a terrific place to dine, quiet with great service, great food. It is always enjoyable. The bartender, Kevin, does an outstanding job mixing cocktails and pouring wine. He is a bartender in classic New York sense. Well versed in topics of the day. Always ready with a quip and attentive service. Don't miss this place!
Solid French Onion soup, great preparation with the Cod entree.
The restaurant is in a great location facing the battery park harbor. The restaurant is modern, small, but the decor is average. It is located in Ritz Carlton. The service and food is what you except from Ritz Carlton; consistent and high quality. Enjoyed every bite.
This hotel restaurant has excellent food and services at customary hotel prices. Tables next to the window have a view of the Hudson River and New Jersey. The host/managers are excellent. Business meals can be planned efficiently (privacy and on schedule).
This place is in the Ritz Calton. It is basically the hotel bar. Not worth eating there unless you stay at the hotel. Our service was bad, the food just OK but way over priced. Find another place!
Great restaurant hidden in the back of the Ritz Carlton Hotel. The Roast Maine Cod and the Steak entrees were terrific. Also, don't miss the Sticky Toffee Pudding for dessert.
we went for lunch during restaurant week. Food was fresh and well prepared. Portions were large. This was good value for the money (restaurant week).
The service was really good. The presentation of the food was really good but flavor could use improvement. Ambiance was good for a date night dinner.
2 West is the restaurant inside the Ritz Carlton in Battery Park. I would guess most of the clientele are hotel guests. Food is excellently prepared there. Menus are on an IPad and I was there for Restaurant Week. That menu was not included in the IPad and the waiter inadvertently forgot to hand one to us. A little awkward asking for it since I was a little unsure if it was lunch only and we were there for dinner. But it was just an oversight. Restaurant Week dinner was tasty and well worth it. Lobster corn chowder and crab cakes were very good. Skirt steak and herb roasted chicken were also very good.
Was expecting a little more ambiance - feels like a regular restaurant / diner
