2 Darbar Grill Ratings and Reviews
Most amazing part was the food. Really well flavored, not too hot for the European taste. Service was very attentive. Pay attention to: Cocktail Happy Hour is only if you sit at the bar, not if you are dining (very sad...) and food on the menu is not equally spicy, even if the dishes do not show a chili sign behind the name. For me it was perfect, and so it was for my girlfriend, but we have a very different taste, so I would have found her food not to be spicy enough and mine would have been too hot for her.
The food was amazing! I went there with a friend and we both thought the food was very good. They were good portions for their price but the spice levels across dishes was unpredictable. I suggest you ask for additional spice on the side. Service was exceptional.
My Skirt steak (cooked black & blue) Med. Rare was spectacular. I appreciated the vegetables that came along with it. Very moderately priced. We enjoyed our Malbec also moderately priced. Excellent value. We sat outside enjoy the atmosphere. VERY nice find in NYC!
Food is very good at 2 Darbar Grill. Ambience is just OK. Prices are a bit higher than what we would expect considering the overall dining experience. A minor issue is that it took 25-30 minutes for our meal to be serviced. Anyway, it is important to highlight that we had a good evening at 2 Darbar Grill.
We were in NYC for the weekend, and 2 Darbar Grill was the perfect way to spend our Friday evening. The food was delicious, from the chicken korma , lamb masala, and mango chicken curry to the spinach and cheese stuffed Naan. Our server AJ was spot on with his service and attentiveness. He was very knowledgeable about all of the dishes and willing and patient to explain! After all of the hustle and bustle of the city, it was nice to walk into a relaxing, quiet, inviting atmosphere. We will definitely return to 2 Darbar Grill.
Trust me, I'm Indian, and I know good Indian food. This place does a great job flavoring their tandoor options. They're not afraid to make things spicy, so watch out and order mild if you don't like too spicy! The mango lassi is delicious and fresh (just yogurt and mango, no cream). The cocktails are strong and creative. Portion size is larger than other Indian restaurants, which always feels good! Additionally, the service is fantastic! Will definitely come back again and consider this a place I can bring my family when they're in town to visit :)
Great food, very accomodating to our large group including those with dietary restrictions. Interesting wine list including Indian wines. Good recommendations for ordering for our group in terms of variety and amount. Service was very considerate and on top of keeping glasses filled etc. Not very fast, though we weren't in a hurry - if you are then it may be worth mentioning to them so they are aware. Overall great experience.
We had a great early dinner and found Darbar Grill to be a friendly and welcoming spot on a cold winter's night. The service was excellent , the menu offered extensive choices and the portions were just right for sharing. The bar crowd seemed to be regulars, and as we were leaving around 6:30 the restaurant was beginning to get more crowded. We will definitely return.
although I am not big about spicy food, I go there since I live in a couple blocks off the restaurant, and was satisfied with the quality of food. My fb often gets the delivery service from Darbar. This time, however, I noticed my mango lassi was watery , and the curry that I order most of the time was, less flavorful, different from what used to be. My bf said everything was ok... This was the first time for me to feel a little disappointed, but until last time, everything was good.
Everything from food to service great. The only thing we didin't like was all the back and forth foot traffic of the kitchen staff from the kitchen to the bar. This was very disruptive during the quiet meal we were trying to enjoy and frankly disrupted the entire ambiance of the place .
Great food at this Indian restaurant -- I would highly recommend the Tandoori vegetables and the Lamb Vindaloo especially if you like hot and spicy food- Nice people serving also.
However when the restaurant is full, which happened to us the other night, you can wait almost an hour to get your entree... which is clearly unacceptable!
It's time for Darbar Grill to create jobs :)
when you see diners of a cuisine's origin eating at restaurants specializing in that cuisine. And there are plenty of diners from the subcontinent eating here. The food is tasty, copious and delicious. The chicken tikka is not to be missed. Or the bhel puri. How nice to have a fine Indian restaurant in this nabe!
