Inspired by the sophistication and the playfulness of the “speakeasy” style, 1920 Tavern’s walls are lined with antique mirrors, crystal accents and globe lighting that provides a natural ambiance which makes it one of the best pubs in Roswell. Dark brown wood and leather banquettes with a contrast of diamond-shaped white tiles beneath the beautifully suspended light pendants that hang over the bar and dining area. The newly constructed bar offers a comfortable space to watch the bartenders create your favorite beverages.
Good food, enjoyable atmosphere and great service!!!
We love this place for getting together with family. Today we tried the brunch and the food and service was excellent as per usual. The Mimosas are fantastic!
A great meal every time we go! Service was outstanding and the drinks were great too! Got to sit street side and had an awesome evening!
The atmosphere was cool and a bit transient. Seemed like folks were in and out and was definitely a bar stopover for those walking around the square. I would go back, but probably only for a drink.
Great food. Loved the back room for a larger group.
This was our first time eating here. The food was VERY good. We had the fried green tomatoes appetizer, the grouper and the short rib, all excellent. We would eat here again.
Great experience. Food, drinks and service all good!
Even on Alive After Five night, service was fantastic here! Our server was on top of it and our food was delicious. Thank you!
Always great! Outdoor seating is nice. Delicious sangria and dinner!
Excellent food and solid service. The outside bar staff was attentive and had excellent recommendations. The dining staff was good, but not outstanding. The chef is creative with fish and beef. There is not as many vegetarian or vegan dishes as I'd expect for leading edge restaurant. The grounds are beautiful. Be sure to save some time to wander around the restaurant and see the museum quality artworks.
We thoroughly enjoyed our meal. It was Mother's Day, so it was very busy. The only negative feedback I have is that the restaurant called & emailed me around 5:00 pm the day before and wanted me to verify our reservation. I was not available the entire evening and did not read my email until the next morning when I found that they had canceled my reservation because they did not hear back from me. They canceled my reservation at 9:00 pm the night before, only giving me 4 hours to respond. That was very frustrating! This may be just their practice on holidays, but I did not appreciate it. The good news is, however, I called the restaurant and they immediately gave me my reservation back. I guess they were going to hold the canceled slots for walk-ins. It was NOT customer friendly to me, however, having made the reservation a week in advance. But, worked out fine in the end.
Enjoyed a Mother's Day celebration sitting outside. Weather was iffy for rain, but atmosphere too good to pass up the outdoors. We were guaranteed a seat inside if it started to rain. It did rain, but we were comfortable and very well shielded from the rain. The Owner even put a cone on the street to ensure no cars splashed water onto the customers. Fantastic food, excellent service! Loved sitting on the patio. Our waitress and the Owner were very attentive. Crab dip and pimento cheese dip to die for! Everyone enjoyed their meals and food was prepared to perfection.
Place is small- It’s loud with or without music.
The food at 1920 was very good and we really enjoyed it. Everything we ordered was very good: pimento cheese dip, fried shrimp, southern fried chicken, crab cakes, coleslaw, black and blue salad and chocolate truffle cake. Decor was nice and had a deco feel. A few negatives: The pimento cheese dip (delicious) was served with only four triangles of pita bread which is insufficient for the amount of dip. The kitchen needs to add more bread and maybe some raw veggies to dip in it. It was very loud but It was Mother’s Day so it may not always be. They advertised free valet parking but the hostess informed us the valet never showed up to work. Parking around Canton Street can be difficult. Be mindful that the floors are also extremely slippery. Overall, the quality of the food would bring us back.
Overall a good experience on Mother's Day. Was a little busier than usual and therefore slower service but still a good early dinner. The Seared tuna was great and the piccata, though non traditional style, was also tasty. Will be back again....
Love this spot!! It's an easy choice for a yummy go-to! Never disappoints in service or quality!
We love 1920! The food is consistently very good and service is superb! The only negative is the noise level. But, we keep coming back. Highly recommend!
We sat outside and enjoyed people watching At one point is vegan to rain lightly and the host immediately checked on us to see if the rain was coming in to us. The roof was blocking most of it so we were ok.
The food was great and the service was too.
We would recommend this place for great food and atmosphere.
The food was delicious!
Amazing ambiance for a date night! The food was spectacular and the service was fabulous.
We had a fabulous evening. The owners are extremely attentive and hospitable. The food was excellent. I highly recommend this restaurant for an evening of fun, good food and great vibe
Great little place with excellent food, excellent ambiance, and excellent cocktails. The bartenders were friendly and engaging, and we had an excellent meal.
Food was great! Little close quarters so it gets loud pretty quickly. Staff was great, will go back!
We eat at 1920 Tavern often. The food and service are consistent, and we like sitting outside despite the traffic noise on Canton street. We have noticed that their prices seem to have gone up in the last year or two--along with cocktail prices being some of the highest around. We enjoyed 1920 for their value and the quality of food, but now we may reserve our dining here to lunchtime, with lesser lunchtime prices. Still, it's good food and if you don't mind paying their prices for a dinner entree and cocktail, it's worth a visit.
My friend and I went to enjoy dinner and the overall experience was uncomfortable. Keep in mind this was a Monday night and the restaurant was NOT busy. There are too many tables for the space at the front of the restaurant. The server at our adjoining table knocked ME out of the way to rest her hand in the center of our table while she chatted with her patrons. No apology from her for her behavior. I’m actually surprised that she was allowed to serve food as she looked as if she hadn’t bathed in a few days, and that’s the nicest thing I can say about her. Our own server barely came over to us and didn’t refill drinks or really bother with anyone in the restaurant. Instead, all the servers congregated at the bar and had a grand old time amongst themselves. My friend and I noticed a couple of folks come to the bar and they were not acknowledged, so they left. Again, did I mention that they weren’t busy? Let’s get to the food. My friend ordered shrimp and grits and it was a soupy mess. I ordered the short rib appetizer and it was cold. I also ordered the mussels and those were positively anorexic. The whole experience was so disappointing as I very much wanted to try this place out. I wouldn’t recommend this place to anyone.
I think Easter Sunday was not the usual service quality. Eggs benedict came out runny after specifically requesting hard. Very noisy in the corner booth with service door banging every 2 minutes. Condiments not brought out. One guests food arrived 10 minutes after everyone else.
We went based on open table reviews for my moms 70th birthday. The menu was a crowd pleaser as we were dining with 7 people ages 2-70 with three kids under ten. There was something for everyone. I loved the small plates menu to have a salad and a crab cake. And it was plenty for a full meal. My husband loved his dry rubbed chicken and the kids had potato skins , Brussel sprouts and pasta. The back room was perfect as we had seven people and the front would’ve been too loud for us to hear each other. My only complaint was things kept getting taken from the table we weren’t finished with, it would’ve been simple to just ask if we were finished before taking it. My sparkling water glass disappeared and my daughters dinner also left the table without even being asked if we wanted it to take home(there was a ton left), but they made a new one for us to take. Otherwise we found the setting fun for a birthday 🍰, with a creative menu and very nice staff. I think they were just being expeditious in turning tables on a busy night so maybe they need to just make sure people are done with plates and it would be a five star review from me.
The staff was friendly and attentive. Food was great. Dining area is tight but comfortable.
This restaurant never disappoints! Had friends in from out of town & the experience was great from start to finish. Bloody Mary’s were perfect, food was delicious, & the server was friendly & efficient! Thanks!
Food was amazing. It was everything most restaurants and food places have been missing in my opinion. Great portions and extremely flavorful. Not a place for an intimate date only because it was so loud (not a negative just saying) will be going again soon.
My friends came to Atlanta, so I took them to 1920. They loved it!
We were there during Alive After 5, so it was quite hectic there. Will definitely go back during a less busy time. Great Menu!
Birthday celebration. Nice evening. Sat outside. Good food and good service
This place is well run, great service and delicious food! We will definitely return:)
Our whole experience was amazing. The food was delicious, the staff is friendly, professional and on top of everything and you the energy was great! We can't wait to go back soon!
Always enjoy this place. The food is awesome. The owner is very personable and checks on you. Can’t go wrong!!
WE had a very nice experience at 1920! The food was excellent and the service always friendly and timely! We will go back very soon!
Birthday and celebration at my new favorite place
Great place, great food. Nice staff and ownership!
