Inspired by the sophistication and the playfulness of the “speakeasy” style, 1920 Tavern’s walls are lined with antique mirrors, crystal accents and globe lighting that provides a natural ambiance which makes it one of the best pubs in Roswell. Dark brown wood and leather banquettes with a contrast of diamond-shaped white tiles beneath the beautifully suspended light pendants that hang over the bar and dining area. The newly constructed bar offers a comfortable space to watch the bartenders create your favorite beverages.
Staff was on point, drinks and food were excellent. Really love the champagne mussels app!
One of the best restaurants I’ve ever been to. The service was amazing and the food was even better. I would recommend this place to anyone.
Food selection great and the food is tasty. Service is good as well.
Great experience. Food was awesome. Service was spot-on.
This was my first trip to 1920 Tavern, in celebration of a friend's birthday. Four of us were seated across from the bar on a busy Monday evening, where we enjoyed friendly and attentive service (taking all kinds of dietary requirements into account), terrific food (the salads could feed a village), and great cocktails (a perfect Sazerac, thank you very much). I highly recommend the 1920 Tavern for visitors who want a great meal in historic Roswell.
My wife and I visit 1920 Tavern at least once per month. The food is fantastic; Chef Mark is very creative and always offers up the most flavorful creations that tempt the eyes as well as the taste buds. Owners Jenna and Howard always make us feel most welcome and special. Our server, Mirela, is THE BEST; Great recommendations on the specials as well as prompt, attentive and friendly service. Great place to go to have fun, conversation and a fabulous time.
It took forever to get our drinks, a server brought us the wrong items, the lamb sliders were completely overlooked and everything was very expensive for what you get. Not impressed, I won’t be back.
Great food. Live music. Staff is excellent!!
Live guitarist made for good ambiance, even for a Thursday night.
This was our second visit to 1920 Tavern and we were not disappointed. We went for the Brunch on a Sunday which is a great time. There is a special brunch menu available. We shared the chargrilled oysters, then each one chose a different entree. One had the grouper sandwich with fries, another steak and potatoes, and lastly the salmon sandwich. Our server was great, but sadly, I cannot remember his name but we joked with him about wearing a black plastic glove when he boxed our food. There are so many restaurants along Canton St but this one has become a favorite.
Food was excellent! Our waiter was very attentive and spot on with suggestions. A bit loud on a Fri evening with big groups in the back room, but it didn’t bother us. We’ll go back!
Great food and staff is friendly
We eat here often and enjoy the food and atmosphere. One of our go-to eateries in Roswell/Canton St.
Saturday nights are always very busy in this area of Roswell. 4 of us (friends who hadn't seen each other in a while) had reservations at 5 p.m. We ordered appetizers (wonderful), cocktails (also wonderful), entrees (good, not wonderful) & desserts with coffee (yummy). At 6:30 p.m. we were asked to vacate our booth because people were waiting and it was raining outside. The manager offered a round of free drinks but the bar was full so not sure where we would have enjoyed those. The total bill was hefty so the restaurant was not losing money because of us. Not sure that we will return.
Great food, great service, and super cool vibe, even with packed rooms.
The food is always consistent and always good. Service is above and beyond.
Great food and service. Always have a good experience here.
Larger thank it looks from the outside with seating in the back. Food choices are many and varied. Quality is also very good and a bit above average for downtown Roswell. Drink selections are also varied and many. Service while above average not quite 5 stars. It was crowded but food and drinks were slow. Having said that I don’t think it was so slow that it will keep me from coming back. I can’t overstate the quality of the food. There is something on the menu for everyone.
Not only is the food and the ambiance fantastic, but the staff makes everyone feel like you’re old friends. The cocktails are amazing and the food is superb. Definitely one of my favorites!
Wow I liked this place the first time so this was not a surprise.... Food was awesome; I love, love, love avocado toast. My friend had blac and blue salad...fabulous and my husband had some rocking grouper.
Our Sunday brunch was perfect. We got there just after they opened so we did not experience the noise issue others have mentioned. We started with the chargrilled oysters-delicious!! One ordered the steak from the brunch menu, I had the lobster & shrimp spaghetti, and the last order was for the steak from the menu. The steaks were grilled just as requested, serving sizes were ample. Since it was a birthday celebration we ordered the choc truffle cake ( a gift from 1920 Tavern) and the peanut butter cake. All were excellent. Liz was our very personable server who knew her stuff. She explained the menu and was observant when we needed something without having to ask. The manager checked with us once and Liz a couple of times but always done in a brief and unobtrusive way. Go...you will love the food and ask for Liz!
I came to town on business and my associate and I had the pleasure of going to 1920 dinner. I was a
little noisy, but food and service were just GREAT! We had the blackened Mahi....wonderful!!
Another excellent night out at 1920 Tavern. We all tried different cocktails and were not disappointed. Try the Cucu-Melon. Outstanding! And I am not a fan of vodka.
Sat us back where the servers were hanging out before their shifts
Watched a male employee go into the only girls bathroom to change into work clothes
Had staff pass us with ice buckets, rubber gloves, and other supplies so they clearly weren’t prepared for service
Had the busboy take our silverware before we were finished; when we told him we weren’t done he offered us the pile of dirty silverware back
Had 3 people in a matter of 5 minutes stop at our table to ask us how everything was; poor communication with front of house leadership to disturb guests that frequently
Menu offered a variety of fish, but almost every fish dish contained other types of meat so made it difficult for someone who has meat restrictions, especially pork
I’m sorry that you didn’t enjoy your time at 1920. We don’t close after lunch and we were very busy prior to your 5:30 arrival . We’re a small restaurant and have to go through the back room to get our materials continuously through the day. I was 1 of the 3 people who came to check on you, i do this to ensure our guests are taken care of, I apologize if this was overwhelming for you.We are always happy to accommodate any dietary needs, but we only have 1 out of the 6 fish dishes that has meat.
Jenna and her team are always focused on a great customer experience from personal involvement, to service, to food. They never let us down!
1920 Tavern is an amazing restaurant - the service is always excellent - the food is fresh, healthy and delicious - everyone is friendly and accommodating. We come for date night or with the kids and each time we love the experience! The owners work hard and are simply a delight!
The food and drinks were delicious! Service was great also. Will be back!
1920 Tavern never disappoints! Our appetizer and dinners were amazing! Perfectly prepared!! There is no room for improvement here. It's one of my favorite places to enjoy lunch or dinner!
1920 is fantastic. We love the staff and food. Always a pleasure to be there.
We came into town from Connecticut and truly enjoyed our meal and overall experience at 1920. Our family will visit 1920 again when we come back to Roswell.
We had grouper, tuna, and Tavern salad. All of these were excellent.
Based on other reviews, I expected a high noise level even at lunch on a weekday. It was loud but we were easily able to hold a conversation.
Staff was engaging, knowledgable, and attentive.
Table was ready at our reserved time and servers were attentive. Food was great as usual, and they didn’t rush us out to flip the table. We were able to have drinks after dinner and enjoy ourselves. Great atmosphere as well.
It was my very first visit to the cozy, quaint, 'neighborhood-feeling,' NYC-vibe gem! We were celebrating a friend's 'new job,' and for starters, the sparkling rose toast was light and refreshing. The guitar singer was on-point, and the calamari I'll definitely be back!!"
We had a great experience! I was so appreciative of the staff taking care of my larger party. We got there and water was already placed. Our server, Patrick (I believe), was attentive to our needs and answered all of our questions with ease. The food was excellent, with lots of good choices. Drinks were great and included a selection of local drafts. The environment was nice but laid back, and perfect for my group. It was an excellent dinner for me and my crew, thanks!
It was Alive in Roswell (big street party third Thursday of the month) in Historic Roswell so the place was crazy crowded. We walked in 1920 (with a reservation) and had attentive service from the bartender and the wait staff the entire evening. Hard to do with the crowd that was there. Food was good, hot and fast! Bar was packed but the bartenders kept it going on! Server was cute and nice and plenty of other managers or employees constantly stopped by our table asking if all was good. And it was!
Alive after 5
Amazing. As always.
Our food was very good. Tables are a little closer than I'd like. We had a nice waitress and a manager was doing a great job checking on tables to see if everyone was good. Menu has a lot of variety. Drink was good! Will be back.
