1919 Restaurant Ratings and Reviews
We did a Chef's tasting menu, with a wine pairing with each course. Each wine was better then the next. One of the best dinning experiences I have had. Service was amazing and the servers tended to every need. 1919 is a can't missing if in San Juan. It is on par or better then any top rated restaurants in NYC.
Very good food. Not sure cost justified. Extremely tiny cup of coffee that seemed and tasted like espresso but asked for decaf. Asked for refill and ended up getting charged for 2 cups. Got that taken off bill. Some of price fixed options have upcharge. Tuna app did not but $5 was added to the bill for an upcharge so one should carefully check their bill. Salad portions small. Entree sizes good but fish of day entree small.
I cannot give enough praise to the staff, the management, the chef, the service, the ambience... everything was perfect! I came here with my girlfriend for a farewell to San Juan dinner and every dish I tasted brought me close to tears it was so good! Even the palate cleansers were delicious! We cannot stop raving about this place! Advanced warning, it is obviously on the pricey side, but do not let that deter you. Save some cash, dress in your best smart casual attire, and pay a visit to this restaurant. It is an experience worth every penny!
Two items were almost too salty to eat. Both of us are Chefs, the food was over salted. Service was very good but they seemed unorganized. You almost have too many servers on the floor. More efficiency would decrease the number of staff members.
It was a very nice upscale dining experience but I doubt I would go back.
3 hours to finished eating. They took 30 mins in between meals. No taste at all. Blah food. Overpriced. They tried to overcharged $100 extra on my credit card. And it looked like the waiter knew about it. He didn't apologized. Bad bad bad. Malo malo terrible
The server Enrique was great. The host was very welcoming. Great experience overall. Celebrated my girlfriends birthday. I reserved a table on a tuesday night in order to ensure a nice romantic evening and to avoid crowds as i was also proposing, however, a group of about 70 people arrived and made the resaturant extremely loud and killed the ambience. This just added a funny side to our proposal memories which did not bother us. The staff was still attentive and service was excellent.
This was an outstanding experience from beginning to end. The food was creative, tasteful, innovative and on time. The staff is well trained and fit for a michelin star. And lastly the chef is an outstanding superstar in the kitchen, well underated ,this might very well be the best restaurant in the caribean. Thank you chef for an anniversary meal that we will remember forever.!!!
One of San Juan's top dining experiences, an excellent combination of local ingredients and fine cooking techniques to bring out the best natural flavors in every bite. Top to bottom, start to finish, a win-win choice, if you're lucky enough to be in Puerto Rico for dinner!!!
We loved this place! The service was absolutely top-notch! We had the chef's tasting menu and loved just about everything on it. A few things were just a bit too salty for me, but we generally found it to be clean, inventive in a good way, delicious food. We hope to be able to go back.
My husband and I dined here on our 25th wedding anniversary. We had the 4 course tasting menu with wine pairings- every course was fabulous, and the wines were excellent. My one small critique would be that a red wine was chosen for our fish course, and although it was light and fruity, I would have preferred a white. The service was amazing and everyone at the restaurant treated us as special as the occasion itself. As I am a chef and sommelier myself, I am a harsh dining critic! I would recommend 1919- the food was expertly prepared, beautifully presented and professionally served. A lovely experience.
