We picked this hotel due to character and location of the city. The atmosphere was perfect, with that being said there was only one waiter on staff on a Saturday evening. We had to wait for a while for our food and even ask before it was brought to us warm. However, the overall experience was still very nice and staff was friendly.
We went to this restaurant on a Friday night. It was not super crowded so we were waited on promptly. The food was just ok. My associate ordered a medium steak and it was served rare so it was sent back. Several of us ordered the crusted walleye and it tasted over cooked. Bottom line is the food was just ok and I would not recommend it return.

Valentine’s date, very nice restaurant, excellent service, and excellent food. I put this restaurant on par with St. Elmos. Smaller establishment and lesser known, but just as good.

Made a reservation to celebrate our 20 year anniversary, we had excellent service a complimentary bottle of champagne and dessert which left me speechless, food was amazing! Loved everything about this perfect night! Very attentive staff without hovering! Will definitely be going back again and this time staying at the hotel as well! I honestly cannot say enough good things about this restaurant, we had two appetizers the gnocchi and the meatballs, I really wish the meatballs and the amazing sauce they were in came as a pasta dish because it was one of the best I’ve ever had, my husband had the walleye which was absolutely amazing and I had the filet mignon which was equally wonderful it would be very hard to choose again what to have, dessert was a flourless chocolate torte right up my alley! Really loved this place!
This place is a hidden gem! We were staying in the hotel and decided to visit. Dinner for two will run you about $100, including appetizer and drinks. The food was incredible. Service is present without being overly so. Great restaurant!

We chose to come back as it had bern awhile since we ate here. One additional draw was 1913 was listed as a Devour Restaurant. When we asked we were told you were not participating. Too difficult to manage. We were the only diners on Friday from 5 to 6 :30 so I am not sure how it would have been hard to manage. Very disappointed in false advertising.
The restaurant is at the entrance of the Omni Hotel. Which meant that every time a guest entered the hotel a breeze would run through the entire restaurant. It was below freezing out on NYE and we felt like we were eating outside. I would not recommend eating here on a cold evening. The food was good. The highlight was the sugar cream pie!! It was the best we’ve had....ever! The waiter was very attentive.
We went for a nice Christmas dinner so we wouldn't need to cook and clean. The environment was very pleasant as was our server. Not very many menu options but I personally think that's the key, very few things and they are all done to perfection. I started with the shrimp cocktail and moved to the salmon dinner with asparagus , I could not have been happier with those choices. I'll visit again and highly recommend 1913 to anyone who asks.

I took my husband to the 1913 Restaurant for Christmas breakfast. My plan was to have the the breakfast buffet, as it would be a special surprise for him. I was disappointed that the buffet was not being served. I was not given a reason, but was given an apology. I ordered the Hoosier Breakfast which was nothing special. I did enjoy the blueberry maple sausage patties, and my husband liked his Malt Waffle with Blueberry Compote. The service was outstanding and the staff were very friendly and attentive, which helped make up for the disappointment. I would still like to try the buffet, and I would also consider returning to try their dinner menu.
On one of the busiest dinner days of the year (Saturday during the PRI show), we were able to get a reservation for 6 here. We were a little concerned when we arrived to find a nearly empty restaurant. Those concerns quickly vanished as we took our first bite. The food was excellent as was the service. I would highly recommend this best kept secret in the heart of downtown Indianapolis.
We had thanksgiving dinner at 1913 and could not have been happier. The music was a perfect backdrop too. Chef used a lot of local products and the staff was very helpful and attentive though not overbearing. I'd highly recommend the Omni for any special occasion.
The food was fabulous. Unfortunately the service was terrible. We actually had to ask to have our waiter sent to our table to refill water and order drinks. When he finally did arrive, he didn't explain or apologize and was extremely short with us. As a party of 8, his tip was included. Even the manager that came to assist was less than friendly. We ended up spending nearly three hours because the wait staff was so slow. The food, however, was terrific if you have all night.
The food was great, prepared my Chef John Camphor and the service was awesome by Lucy Hawkins.

Our waiter was absolutely clueless about the menu and couldn't recommend anything from the appetizers to the entrees. Service was horrible since no one ever came by the table to see if you needed a drink refill. I had the pork chop which was over cooked and deathly dry. My date had a salad with salmon on top which was also over cooked. I wouldn't recommend this restaurant to anyone for any reason.
Made reservations to stop by 1913 on our way to a concert at Lucas Oil. Food was great. We appreciated the locally sourced ingredients and fresh options. Service was very slow, due to the concert crowd, but we agreed mgmt should have taken that into consideration for adequate staffing levels. Drinks were fine. Bartender knew how to make some obscure concoction, which we didn't actually order ;-) but we took it anyway as we didn't have time to wait on another. Overall, better than average. Nice, convenient, downtown location.

We tried it for the devour Indy menu and it was okay. Although the sweet corn creme brulee was fabulous! The other dishes didn't quite meet our expectations. The service is outstanding and they went above and beyond! It's inside the omni sevrin and open to the lobby which makes it very loud and not quite so intimate.
The walleye was delicious! I judge food by "would I it order again?" and I definitely would! My husband really enjoyed the strip steak also. The meatball appetizer was very good.
Excellent meal for from their Devour Indianapolis menu. Had the meatballs in an Italian red sauce (which was excellent and great portion), the walleye fish dish, and the corn creme brulee. Good meal for the price.

Our dinner was excellent and service to match. Thomas did a good job explaining the options and made some recommendations. We enjoyed a quiet dinner and we were pleasantly surprised. I would return to this restaurant again. We both had the filet and a surprise desert for a Birthday celebration.

Was disappointed to learn that we were charged for a meal after telling the restaurant my sister-in-law could not attend. (Her son past away just one year ago.) .Also, experienced difficulty with a gift card. Finally resolved but was still charged for a meal - not cool.

Our Easter Brunch exceeded our expectations! From the friendly valet parking attendant to the very attentive waitstaff, the pianist and the casual chic atmosphere - we thoroughly enjoyed our Easter Celebration. We originally reserved a table through Open Table for three adults, however our young Grandsons were unexpectedly in town and the 1913 graciously amended our reservation. The buffet was fabulous - starters included shrimp cocktail, mini quiches, stuffed eggs, fruit and pastries. The omelet station was excellent and somewhat overlooked. The Lamb and Ham offered in the carving station with au gratin potatoes, perfectly steamed asparagus, and eggs Benedict were favorites at our table. The Crudités table, breads, desserts all were amazing. We were very pleased and grateful.

Went for Valentines dinner. Ordered off of the Valentine's menu. Was under the assumption that we couldn't order off of the regular menu, but saw other tables have different food. The Valentine menu just didn't have a lot to choose from: only 3 entree options? The items that we did order were OK...seemed over-priced. The waitress was wonderful and we appreciated the free valet service that came with our reservation. Still don't know if we would go back.

If you like food that is just ok, while sitting in a hotel lobby and getting ignored by your waiter the entire night then this is the place for you. We both ordered the four course New Year's Eve special, and I am guessing nearly everyone else did too. Besides being pretty mediocre the wine pairings were not very good. Our waitress then disappeared for most of the night, only to show up before the third course asking us if we wanted the check. When we told her we hadn't even had our entrée yet she looked very confused and went to find it. It shows up with a different server a few minutes later who runs away without giving us a chance to ask for more silverware (our silverware had been missing for over 10 minutes at this point). After five minutes of literally no one being in the restaurant we flag a water boy and ask for silverware. He has no idea what that means so he has to go find someone else to bring back to the table to ask us. The second water boy then finally brings us new silverware. On top of all that, we had to ask for the wine repeatedly for each course. When it came time for the check, it took the waitress well over ten minutes to bring us the bill somehow.
After all of that terribleness I thought I was free, but I wasn't. I was told for the valet that as soon as I was done with dinner to take it to the front desk, which I did. The front desk calls my car and demands $26. I reminded them that the restaurant is complimentary. She then tells the valet not to bring my car and tells me to have the restaurant stamp the valet ticket first. So I walk back over and get it stamped and then walk back to the desk. She tells me that she won't call the car for me and to take it to the valet myself. Two things here, first she was very rude and second why couldn't have she told me that the first time? The valet did find the car in a normal amount of time, so they got at least one thing right.
There are many much better restaurants out there...AVOID!!!
