I love it here. The chef always prepares a special treat to try before the meal. Delicious! I just love the mushroom lasagna - the mushroom omelet was incredible - if that can refer to eggs.

We love eating at 1906!! By the way---what is the origin of "1906?"
This restaurant is the perfect compliment to the wonderful elegance of Longwood Gardens. You will see us every time we are in the area---and 1906 is one good reason to "be in the area!"

I would highly recommend this restaurant at Longwood Gardens. Food was delicious, service was outstanding with a nice view to the property. My only complaint is that I ordered a glass of Riesling wine without looking at the wine list. The waitress didn't ask which kind and I was given the $15 wine instead of an $8 glass of wine offered on the list. However, it was delicious. I just think she should have asked for clarification.

Pleasantly surprised to find a top quality restaurant in a touristy spot. Found the food, service, and atmosphere to be excellent. The fact that this restaurant could still do a brisk business with a lesser quality experience made their attention to details all the more impressive.

You have to pay admission into the Gardens to eat here, or be a member, but when visiting Longwood it is worth making a reservation here for a special meal. It's a little pricey but well worth it with great food, great drinks and very attentive service.

I have eaten here several times now for lunch. It never disappoints. The food is always delicious and the service is very good. It's a small restaurant, so reservations are a strongly encouraged. Each time my young children have come along (since they were 3 and 4, now they are 4 and 5) with no problem. Wile the restaurant has a children's menu also, I wouldn't necessarily say its a kid-friendly restaurant. Most parties there have no young children. Tends to be an older crowd. Nonetheless, eating here is a highlight for my 2 often rambunctious girls and me. The wood surrounded deck is fabulous for an outdoor meal. Overall, the restaurant is rather quiet, even when eating on the deck. 1996 is worth my one hour drive to Longwood Gardens.

My wife and I, we are members, have enjoyed for years spending Sundays at Longwood with a meal at 1906. However, the menu has become too eclectic. . Most of the dishes are for sophisticated "Foodies". We, and others we know, would enjoy more of the "standards". I would suggest this is a view of many, if not most, persons who dine with you. The evedence of this is the numbers of Hamburgers and Fried Oysters dishes you sell. From our information thet compose a very large proportion of the disheds ordered, if not a majority between them. This evidence should speak volumes of yur customers preferences. I do not mean that the dishes should be a simple as a hamburfer, but ony a little ss artsy.

Dining in the trees of Longwood gardens on a beautiful day--how lovely! The warm brioche, the soup sample from the kitchen and the special sangria of the day (blueberries from the garden), all contributed to a memorable, delecious lunch.

My fiancé and I had to most wonderful dinner at the 1906 Restaurant. I would recommend this place to anybody who is looking for an experience as well as first class hospitality. Michael who I believe is the manager greeted us at the entrance with a smile and made sure we were taken care of. I will definitely be returning in the near future. Thank you for everything!

Our first visit to the 1906 house will live in our memories as a special experience. My family and I were welcomed and seated on the enclosed deck that provided a lovely arboreal view. Service was exceptional and every effort was made to deliver comfort and satisfaction. Our daughter, age 5, was treated like she found long lost aunts and uncles. When she couldn't find a suitable vanilla cake dessert to her liking, the staff searched for and found a much appreciated substitution. We raised our glasses, toasted their kindness and promised our first visit would not be our last.

The service was exceptional from the moment we entered the restuarant. We were greated by a pleasant hostees. Our waiter, Tim, was very attentive, informative, and friendly. We had the fabulous express lunch which was a wonderful deal - served with a perfect portion of pan-seared salmon, arugala salad, and exquisite mushroom soup, plus a wonderful Italian dessert - panna cotta/blackberry compote - everything was so tastey! At the end of the meal we were served special chocolates for our anniversary - what a classic touch!

This is a lovely setting and makes an evening in the Gardens a very romantic experience.
Wine was especially good. We opted for the Chef's Tasting menu with an preference in fish. The chef sent an appetizer of scallops wrapped in bacon that was outstanding. The salad of greens was delightful and so fresh, the greens grown on the ground. He sent us two fish dishes, which we enjoyed swapping half way through. Very dish was very artfully presented. Dessert was very nice, especially a dish of shaved chocolate served with sorbet. We also enjoyed just being in a restaurant that was quiet even though it was busy. The waiter was terrific as well and helpful pointing out spots in the garden not to miss.

Excellent meal.

We come away from many restaurants in different price ranges with the feeling that what we had was good, but "uninspired".

Longwood's fare, from appetizer through dessert, was truly inspired and unique.

Located in beautiful Longwood Gardens, this restaurant is a wonderfully relaxing way to rest weary feet and enjoy a truly good meal. We've been there twice and plan to return in a few months The menu is not large, but is very interesting and tasty. It's upscale, but not stuffy. Since patrons are visiting the gardens, one may dress casually. There is a less expensive, self-serve cafe adjacent that also has good choices; but 1906 is our pick for all the reasons mentioned.

Eating outdoors iby choice and feeling as if we are in an elegant tree house. Had the garden tasting 4 course meal with wine pairing. Our waitress whom we have had before was a great help in having the chef include a desired fish into the tastings. The vegetables were from Longwoods gardens and well prepared. The entire meal was imaginative as well as tasty. Our waitress explained all courses, each wine served and made the meal a special occasion.

Quality of the food was outstanding and the Longwood Gardens setting is unique. Just be prepared for the bill. Did not ask what the lunch plate special cost, it sounded good, so I chose it. Excellently prepared Salmon, although $26.00 for a lunch special is certainly on the high side considering most of the other choices were $12-$16. In the end - still worth it!

We went there for lunch. We ordered hamburger and Penni which are surprisingly very greasy. I usually don't like light food, diet food and all kind of so called healthy food. But, I am surprised that the food was prepared in greasy style.

We are members of Long wood Gardens. On June 8th our reservation through OpenTable for members special dining day was canceled by the restaurant because we did not know to register for one day entrance permit. We did tell the reservation persons that it was booked more than 2 months ago for a family celebration.

It is a famous and only restaurant in the gardens. We had a dinner there more than 10 years ago. Maybe they have different chefs for dinner hour.
