   This restaurant was a casual yet elegant break from the large crowds everywhere else at Longwood Gardens during the Christmas season. Our dinner was a very enjoyable experience.

   Great soups and salads. Entrees were very good except the lobster mashed potatoes had to be sent back because of saltiness. Otherwise, a lovely dining experience.

   Wonderful lunch at 1906 on Thursday 01/04/24. Outdoor seating is my favorite, even in winter. It's much quieter than the main dining room and there's plenty of heat. My salad with shrimp was so delicious and my friend loved the gnocchi. Staff is top-notch. Fabulous service. Now for the honest part since you're asking - I think the restaurant is more expensive than it ought to be. It always has been pricey, and I know everything has become more expensive since Covid, but spending $35 to get a salad with four shrimp (albeit jump shrimp) is outrageous (should be $28). The $65 tag on filet mignon is over the top and I eat out at upscale restaurants. My salad was the best meal I've had at 1906. Often times I find the food bland so to charge those prices for bland food is not my choice. I eat there for my friend because it makes her happy. I'm hoping future visits will include more tasty dishes and somewhat lower prices. I recommend but with caveats.

   Longwood gardens is fabulous and a great ending was the restaurant. Very crowded. Had to wait about a half hour even with a reservation. Food look and tasted great. Cute bread offering at the beginning.

   Great service from Ashley. Prices are high and menu is limited for entrees. Nice ambience but hard to get reservations. Ordered scallops but weren’t cooked enough. Flower pots for dinner rolls was nice touch.

    We booked a table during one of the busiest weeks in the Longwood calendar, Result: a long wait (40 minutes) to be seated. We kind of expected a jam-up, but this was a bit beyond the limits. Other than that, the experience was very good. The food was excellent, the waitress pleasant and accommodating, the ambience nice. I especially appreciated the fact that even thought it was a lively crowd, the acoustics of the room kept the noise down so you could have a conversation without shouting.
