Gourmet quality food, attentive servers, in a beautiful woodsy setting. Lovely in any season.
Service excellent, food unique, delicious and great and clever presentation. Wonderful variety and selections , extremely comfortable atmosphere. Can’t wait to dine there again.
We always love capping a visit to Longwood gardens by having a celebratory lunch at 1906. The hibiscus Martini was perfect as were our entrees of steak salad and fried oyster with chicken salad. The delicious rolls served warm in “flower pots” are always a treat. The service impeccable and the ambiance lovely. All adding up to an experience as lovely as the gardens.
I so enjoy dining at 1906! It’s one of my favorite restaurants! Also, I enjoy bringing friends and family and see the look on their faces when they experience the surrounding beauty of your outdoor dining and when they taste the 1906 cuisine! I always look forward to the entire experience! Thank you
We enjoyed a cool birthday lunch in this dining room on a very hot Sunday and found the staff very attentive knowledgeable and helpful with some of our dietary restrictions. The salads -our appetizers and desserts -were all well prepared, but the crabcake and tuna looked like they had sat for a while- so were perhaps a little overdone. Most enjoyable were the refreshing non-alcoholic cocktails! We each ordered different ones so we could taste them. The strawberry basil and the cinnamon gingerbeer Mule were delicious. Thus restored we were able to go out and see the beautiful gardens and fountains.
Fantastic experience. The food was amazing and so beautifully presented! I would highly recommend!
Always a delightful place to dine with excellent food and service.
Excellent food, beautiful setting!! Wonderful service! We celebrated an anniversary with our family and had a fantastic time! I would highly recommend!
Everything about the evening was first class. While a little on the expensive side, it was still good value given the quality.
The food was absolutely delicious and the presentation was wonderful! There was so much attention to detail. I highly recommend sitting on the outdoor patio. It was fully shaded and overlooking a beautiful wooded area.
Always an absolute pleasure. Staff was perfect and the food was outstanding!
Great ending to the afternoon at Longwood Gardens.
Great service! Wonderful atmosphere!
Our server, Erica, was so courteous and kind. The ambience of 1906 was perfect. The outdoor seating was also superb.
Wonderful experience and did a great job making my Mom’s birthday feel special.
My wife and I had a wonderful experience. The food and service was great. The flower pot dessert was the topper. Very unique. Will be back soon.
Food and staff were amazing, as always! We love 1906.
Great way to get a wonderful meal in the middle of touring the gardens.
I brought 4 adults including myself and 2 children 1 being a baby. I have eaten in the 1906 many times and always been very satisfied with my meal. I have also brought my niece, being one of the adults this time, several times and we liked our meal very much. This time however 3 of us had chicken salad and fried oysters, the oysters were delicious as I would expect them to be. The chicken salad on the hand was not up to par. I ate very little and my 2 guests ate a little more to be polite. The pieces of chicken were very small and the salad was over dressed with mayonnaise, it was hard to distinguish the herbs used. My one guest who picked the tuna dish was very pleased with hers. I was disappointed, paying so much and having 2 of my guests not having what they expected. Service was fantastic, she was kind to the 2 year old and helped the mother of the 6month old with several things. We will come back but not for the chicken salad.
Cold, freezing cold in the dining room. Should have sat outside!
Service was attentive without being too much. It can be difficult to achieve this balance.
All the food we ordered was prepared to perfection. Taste was exquisite, and presentation was spectacular!
Sat outdoors on the patio. Fresh flowers on the tables. Staff is always lovely and efficient. The brioche in a clay pot with creamy salted butter is scrumptious. Best mushroom soup. Fresh berry and greens salad quite tasty. Interesting cocktail choices.
Family out for a night at Longwood Gardens. Our waitress Mindy was phenomenal. She was friendly, personable, helpful and went above and beyond. My tuna was amazing. Tough menu for kids and/or people who don’t like to “step out of the box” when dining (my parents). But I will be returning for the tuna and hopefully Mindy!
Beautiful space, & great food! I only wish they had more drink options.
Overall we had a solid experience. The food was good
The menu selection was extremely small. The portions were small. No vegetable selection was given. No salad. For the price of the food could have been given more. Very dissatisfied and disappointed.
Mindy was very nice and did a great job. Our lunch was wonderful.
Love the food snd drinks here. Interesting menu, past, present, future.
Recommend the oysters and fried oysters and the vibrant ting drink!
Loved eating outside on the porch! Service always amazing!
Lunch at 1906 was, as usual, delightful. We arrived early, with reservations, and were seated promptly. The mushroom soup was outstanding, the best we have found anywhere, and the yellow fin tuna done to perfection. The desserts were just right and presented in interesting bowls! Looking forward to our next visit - reservations already made! We felt sorry for the number of visitors who were turned away - even for lunch mid week!
It’s a lovely place for lunch.
It was lovely decor and the service was excellent. I really enjoyed my mushroom soup and omelet.
The Mushroom Soup!!!! Silky, flavorful, a drizzle of chive oil-heavenly. Michael suggested a French rose, which was perfect. Perfect lunch.
Really unique, seasonal menu (both food and drinks) served in a gorgeous setting. Wonderful experience all around!
Wife didn't like the Tuna. The Filet had a tough membrane between the flakes. It was almost like a silverskin. She had to scrape the fish off because the membrane was inedible. We didn't complain. Rigatoni was prepared al dente and was delicious. Summer Berry Salad was fresh with strawberries and blueberries. Blue Cheese slice was a nice addition. Service was great. Our table sat directly over an AC vent. Too cold for me but my wife didn't mind. Drinks are too pricey to enjoy. ($14 for a glass of wine). All-in-all we enjoyed the treat but probably won't go back. It's a nice place to try once in my opinion.
Crab Cakes at 1906 were very good. A little pricey but good. Food met expectations.
1906 is a really great place to enjoy wonderful food from local farms. We fully enjoyed our meal before the big fireworks show. There was no rush of the food to the table but it was nicely presented and hot. A great place to eat.
We like the way you built out the deck on 1906, like the white tablecloths, server was really nice, food was wonderful, everything was great, thanks!
I have never had a bad meal here! The cocktails are fantastic as well. Whenever I go to Longwood Gardens I always make a point of eating at 1906!
We usually eat at the cafe for a quick meal but decided to try the restaurant since this was a birthday celebration. We ate lunch outside which was covered in case of rain and surrounded by trees. The mushroom soup was the best we ever tasted. All of our entrees were very fresh and flavorful. The flower pot dessert was beautifully made AND delicious. Entire staff was top notch, will definitely be back to try other dishes.
Great meal and ambiance!
