   Beautiful outdoor setting with attentive service. Out of our group of 4, three enjoyed their meal. One person ordered the seabass and didn’t care for his dish.

   We had a wonderful lunch, and our server, Eva, was superb. The only downsides were that my husband's sirloin was rather tough, although cooked to a perfect medium-rare, and the noise level was quite loud. That was mostly due to a 20-something with the loudest voice I've ever heard. Obviously, not your fault!

   We went there to celebrate my fiance getting her dream job. We chose to come here because this was where we had our fist date. The food was the best we've ever had, out waitress Mindy was phenomenal and the atmosphere was very romantic. This is our favorite place to go on dates.

   The setting is beautiful and that alone is a reason to go. The lunch menu is not. The menu is primarily heavy dinner choices. Other than a ceasar salad and a strawberry salad, there are no other cold/salad items. There is one hot soup and no other soups. On a beautiful spring day, the last thing we felt like having was a heavy full meal before walking in the gardens. THe food was OK but nothing memorable. The past, present, future theme is not helpful.

    We have been regular customers for years. Yesterday was a return to what 1906 had been before the remodeling and loss of fabulous hostess Joanie who was a mainstay of the experience. The menu is back to pre-COVID-19 thank goodness as well...We were lucky enough to have Ashley as our server who is fabulous and the woman who was hostess yesterday, also other times is an amazing server, Natalie, made us feel welcomed in and treated us like family. This is very different from the sad to say, aloofness we have received at the desk upon check in that was the norm after Joanie's departure. If this experience is the new norm, we are all for it!

    We had the steak frites and pork tenderloin as well as the cheese plate and everything was amazing. Very high quality and delicious. Our server was also very kind and attentive. The cocktails were were strong so be advised! Everything was amazing, definitely will be back.

    We ate at 1906 expecting the food to be "good" and we were pleasantly surprised to find that every one of our three lunch meals were outstanding, as was the service. We would return to Longwood Gardens for the 1906 restaurant alone. Highly recommended!

    Lovely meal and service. We requested outside dining ( for the 2 of us) and our table was outside- yet it was just too close to the table to our left and right. We felt like we were on top of the guests beside us at the other 2 top. We could hear their conversation. Suggesting to give the 2 top tables more space and privacy. Otherwise, we loved our meal , service and plan to go back.

    We felt overdressed for our 5:30 reservation, as there were people in shorts. At the same time, this makes sense because many walk the gardens before or after their visit. Service was excellent. Food was delicious…mushroom soup, brioche bread, salmon, and pork tenderloins. The fish and pork were perfect. The grits were amazing. The drinks were tasty and presented well. We did not have dessert but from the looks of our neighbors’ desserts and their comments, they looked and tasted amazing. Will be back and would love to sit on the porch next time.

    Birthday dinner. Food was outstanding. Ate on the patio. It was raining lightly in the background. The ambiance was so relaxing. It was the first time eating there for my sister in law and her spouse. They can’t wait to come back.

    I love having a nicer dining option at Longwood Gardens. Been going to the gardens for years and haven’t had a chance to eat at 1906 until today. I really enjoyed the mussels and the cheese board. I also had a nice cocktail. My husband’s steak was cooked a little more than he asked for and he said it was pretty good

    1906 is a beautiful space with large windows looking out to the woods. The seating is comfortable. The menu is imaginative and has many choices. The server was helpful and knowledgeable. The food was delicious and beautifully presented. We are looking forward to returning.

    We were excited about having a meal in such a beautiful location and were fortunate to be seated outside. The mushroom soup and mussels were delicious. Unfortunately, the main courses—both fish—had evidently been held before being served to us, as both pieces of fish were cool, and one was not completely cooked. The baby potatoes served with the rockfish were also undercooked. A bit disappointing based on everything we read before going.

    The food was very subpar, other than the wonderful brioche that everyone received in cute flowerpots. Our mussels were lukewarm, mushy, and several were clearly bad—inedible. Desserts looked impressive but did not taste impressive. Ambiance is where the stars are earned.

    The first visit where the food was not outstanding. The mushroom soup was overly creamy - almost gloppy - and the main dish, the Pork, although tender was tasteless.

    The Mother's Day Dinner was excellent! The past, present, future format was fun and the food was excellent. everyone one on our party had a great experience and the server was on point with timing and welcoming attitude. The strawberry dessert was also fun and tasty- will be back again soon!
