I wasn’t sure what to expect, but this place was so special. The food was very good. Our server was kind. I chose the restaurant because of its location. The server upon finding out it was our anniversary had a special happy anniversary sliver of chocolate added to the dessert we ordered. They also gave us a card to celebrate our anniversary.
We love eating at the 1906. It's always a nice trip in order to get away from the busy of life.
Must partake, a true dining experience, take your time and enjoy
Outstanding in every way!
Excellent meal! Beautiful presentation and flavors.
Lovely setting on the porch, like being in a treehouse. Food was good, service was very good. The chocolate mousse flower pot dessert was very pretty.
Ryan our server was a sweet and courteous young man. He made the lunch experience even more enjoyable.
Lovely setting, nice to sit for a meal after wandering the gardens in the heat. Staff was friendly, decor was pretty. Food was interesting, but nothing we had was stand out. Hibiscus mule was far too sweet. Fruit and berries cocktail was deliscious. Brioche was warm. Beet salad was good but over priced for what it was. Chocolate flower pot was far too sweet and rich we couldn’t eat more than half between the two of us. Overall the price was too much for the portions.
Anniversary lunch was lovely. We had a wonderful waitress who was happy kind and attentive. Everyone working there was well dressed and professional. I will definitely be visiting again.
Excellent crab cake and oysters. Salads were delicious too.
It was Delicious. The "Yesterday, Today, Tomorrow" Lunch menu is very creative.
Really enjoyed dining at 1906 for my mother's birthday! The restaurant was lovely as were all the food dishes and cocktails. The personally signed birthday card from the 1906 staff to her was also a really sweet and unexpected gesture - she had a great time. Thank you for helping make the day special!
There was a hair in my crab cake which was in the next to my last bite . Yes it was found in my mouth! I will never eat there again.
1906 is simply a great restaurant. Very innovative cuisine, as they take old standby's from the past, and combine them with a number a new ideas. Lot's of very interesting dishes. Good wine list, craft beers, and awesome service. We always look forward to our next visit.
In one word AMAZING!!
All I can write is perfection from Michael's excellent service to the outstanding food,
The service and food were excellent! The menu is a bit limited however. Overall it was a very comfortable and relaxing time before we started our walk around the gardens!
Fabulous dining in the middle of Longwood Gardens. Fresh, locally sourced food. The Kennett Square mushroom soup is a must try. Every item on the menu is an culinary adventure.
We chose to eat outside on the porch and loved listening to the rain on the canopy and being surrounded by greenery. We each chose a different entree and shared tastes and found everything to be delightful. We especially appreciated the portion sizes, not too big, not too small.
We ate inside as the forecast was a bit iffy. Had I known their outside dining is covered id have opted for outside dining which looked quite nice. Mindy, our server, was nice and professional. Service was prompt, efficient and unobtrusive. The food was very, very good. The mushroom soup got raves, two of us had the tuna (I was one of them) and it was seared nicely the way it should be. The Agnolotti and Chicken were, I’m told, very good as well. I’m used to NY prices so I wasn’t phased, but some may be. Not cheap but all in all I’d say worth it. We’ll be back.
Food & service outstanding. Would eat there again & recommend it.
THIS IS UNNECESSARY. THIS IS UNNECESSARY. THIS IS UNNECESSARY.
Our waiter was the best trained we met in a very long time (I mean years)!
We cannot recall the previous time the waiter held the chair for my wife (instead of me).
Tuna fish was properly cooked but over salted. Waiter was hard to find after our orders were placed, though we were able to get coffee refills . Strawberry desert was overly sweet, not enjoyable, and overpriced
Delicious lunch. Staff was friendly and accommodating. Would return anytime.
Such a wonderful restaurant in the center of a gorgeous garden! Longwood is beyond extravagant for the whole family, 1906 was a wonderful and superbly delicious experience. Jordan, who was a new first time server, did an amazing job with his candor, recommendations, and compassion to our family. We had 2 adults and 2 small children on a hot and sweat day but we were refreshed and treated with loving respect. Can't wait to go back, the food and drinks were nothing short of amazing. Heads up though, MAKE a reservation!
Gracious wait staff helped celebrate our 53rd anniversary.
Such a great staff. Michael was friendly and helpful. The drinks and food were beautifully prepared and delicious. The special birthday treat and signed card was an extra touch of “lovely”! Thank you!! We’ll return!
The Yellow Fin Tuna Nicoise was absolutely amazing, a must have!
This is a very enjoyable place to dine. The food is excellent and made with fresh local ingredients. I love Longwood and the restaurant. It is way better than the cafe which I think is lacking. However, with that being said, it is extremely overpriced even for being gourmet. It’s like paying for lunch or dinner in an amusement park.
The mushroom soup and chocolate flower pot were outstanding. The omelette was good but very skimpy on vegetables. The lunch cost more than many expensive dinners I have had.
Unfortunately we had a server who was new. They did not not how to split the bill between cash and credit card. We had to reach out to the manager to check us out.
The value for the food is way out of line.
We had a wonderful meal, drinks, and overall great time!
We look forward to doing this again and enjoying your wonderful menu!
Excellent food, beautiful outdoor seating, very attentive service
Came to see the flowers stayed for a fabulous dinner
Excellent and well presented meal

A wonderful oasis for a special meal. Will be sure return when we next visit Longwood Gardens.
