I understand you are seating less people do to Covid or short staff. I felt like the groups should of been spaced out more, the restaurant wasn’t full by any means, but it felt like we were all seated in the center of the room and close together
Lovely early 1900s decor, great value, great service, good food. We are from a metro area where this meal would have easily been 70-100% higher in price. Staff works hard to exceed expectations. Not five stars but a very good steakhouse. The baked potato was perfectly prepared and the size of a Buick! Great value on cocktails and wine. If you are staying in the hotel/casino a definite yes.
Well, River City Casino made this visit difficult and annoying. We parked in the parking garage which was near the concert (The Guess Who). When we tried to walk to the restaurant we could not get there because we had to pass through the casino. Oddly enough, the casino required masks but the rest of the facility did not. The casino did not provide masks. But we were told we could buy one - for $8.00. What a terrible set up and policy!!!
1904 is an upscale restaurant attached to the River City Casino. The food was excellent, and the service and decor are first rate. It was a bit too dark inside, which made it hard to read the menu without using the light on my phone. The server was very attentive and knowledgeable about the food, which helped. I had the prime rib, and it was great. Very tasty and tender. My wife had the Airline Chicken, and she said it was wonderful. It’s a bit on the pricey side for being attached to a casino. And the sides are ala carte. It made up for the price, though by having good food and service. If you’re in the area I would recommend it, but make reservations as they get quite busy.
overall great experience. wonderful time with friends
Nice place but customers sround us were carrying on conversations with a guy at another table, unsuitable for the type of restaurant that they were in.
My plate was great, however I had to send my partner steak back twice before she was able to get it well done by then it was burnt. Unacceptable for $56.00. She wouldn’t let me ask for a manager for the risk that they would harm her food.
Disappointing. My husbands strip steak was cold and underdone, the baked potato was luke warm. My filet was warm, not hot. Mashed potatoes warm, not hot. I added on two scallops for $20, expecting some impressive scallops. I was not impressed.
Bread was delicious. We also ordered french onion soup, which was very tasty and hot. Our waiter and all the wait staff were very good.
When we eat at what we consider a pricey, upscale restaurant, we expect meals to come out fresh off of the grill sizzling hot. We could have sent back our food, but then we would be waiting another 15-20 minutes, which we weren't interested in doing.
I don't expect we will go back.
Food was great! Service was great! Atmosphere was great!
All the seafood dishes we ordered were excellent. I highly recommend.
The beef here is so good that I often order the filet with no seasoning and no garlic butter......just grilled, and they grille it to perfection. My friend had the prime rib which had been roasting all day, and it was served rare and tender. Hopefully they have a plan to keep these chefs in place for a long time. The whipped potatoes are made fresh daily, and the house salad is fresh and crisp with the red wine vinagrette dressing. They have an ever changing list of top domestic red wines to complement your meal. Most recently we enjoyed the Caymus Cab, and the Stag's Leap Artemis is another wonderful choice. The waitstaff is knowledgeable and very efficient.
Wonderful food, beautiful restaurant. Our server was fabulous. Thank you.
I have NEVER left a restaurant a poor review before now. The food had no flavor whatsoever and the service was very slow. Will not return.
The food was very good and the service was excellent as usual.
Had a great dinner. I had scallops and my husband had the queen’s cut of prime rib. He only wished they had more steak options since they’re a steakhouse.
Our mashed potatoes and baked potatoes were cold, one of the filets had a funny taste sent it back, the salmon was not good at all. Other than that the prime rib And other filets were perfect. Veggies could of been hot. 314-600-3346 waitress and all staff was great.
Great service from Mary. Wonderful dessert—banana bourbon cake
Ughhh Being a steakhouse I had high hopes for the steaks.
Our table had Ribeye (VERY chewy), sirloin (very tough) filet (ok) prime ribeye (very bland) none of them has seasoning what so every. All Very bland. Service was no where near where it needed to be, especially for prices we paid. Very disappointed at overall meal and service. Highlight was Mary made great lemon drops! Wedge and spinach salads were good! Definitely understaffed . Also only 4 wine menus in the entire restaurant. The table assistant/bus boy was working really hard!
They were out of oysters, which is why we dined here. Not informed of this until it was time to our order. Service was great otherwise
All staff were very nice and friendly. Steak was excellent 👌
Great service and great food! First time there and will definitely not be our last.
Wonderful place. Our server Jack was spot on with recommendations and service. Steaks were prepared perfectly. Highly recommend.
Everything was perfect! The server came just at the right times-they didn’t bother us but were there just when we needed them. The steaks were awesome!! Crispy on the outside yet juicy and perfection inside. Couldn’t ask for a better experience! A+
Very good, but very expensive. Service was outstanding. Beautiful place.
The service was impeccable! First time we have tried this steakhouse and we loved it. The ribeye was so tender it melted in your mouth cooked perfectly. The whipped potatoes were divine, the calamari was to die for. Highly recommend.
always excellent quality food and service when we go there.
Great filets and mashed potatoes; menu selections could be better, with some smaller steak options
Our server was terrific, as always. He was kind & polite. Bus boys were very good also. Enjoy the food very much, but pricing each item, not pleased. Since the change a few years ago, pricing has become over our budget, we brought bring family here, but the price is to high. We liked it better when it was a full price meal & not each item a separate price. Way to high, it seems like more people could enjoy this if a reasonable price, especially older people on a fixed income. Maybe one or two week nights, & keep the week-ends higher priced. Thank you for asking for our opinion.
We were a little disappointed. When we made the reservation we stated that it was our 50th anniversary and birthday, and nothing was said. Most places acknowledge by either saying happy anniversary or a special dessert, but nothing. Disappointed!
It was fantastic! Pricey but really good! Why does this have to be 50 characters?
Server was personable but one our food arrived he disappeared. Two of three diners had steaks that were over cooked and very charred, not the medium rare ordered. Would have liked to talk to server but he didn’t reappear until we were well into our dinner. Whipped potatoes were excellent. Oysters were tiny creme brûlée tasted like vanilla pudding. Very overpriced for what we received.
Food was good. Service was okay. It took awhile for waitress to bring me my check. How we got sat down was weird. They sat us down in the middle of the booths and then sat everyone else around us. And where we were sitting was a high traffic area. I guess that's just weird since restaurants still take precautions to Covid-19.
The service and the food were fantastic! Would definitely recommend
The food was delicious and service was very good. Will definitely go again.
Jack was an amazing server. Steak was amazing but came with 3 pieces of asparagus...
Salmon was ok, but overall the whole plate was salty.
Food was over priced. Not cooked as ordered. Waitress was rude and unwilling to address issues with food. Would not recommend this restaurant to anyone. Would not even take the leftovers to my dog
Jack was our waiter and he was amazing
Fantastic food and service! It is pricey, but that was one of the best steaks I ever had. My husband got the red vinaigrette house salad and that was the best salad I’ve ever tasted. Highly recommend!
Filet and lobster were delicious
wife had Scallops wonderfull also
Always an amazing experience, thanks Serge! Can't wait for next time.
