Friendly efficient service; excellent quality food. Would certainly dine here again.
Lovely experience all round. Would’ve been nice to have the option of a side salad or side dish of veg with main course.
Pre-theatre menu - very nice food. Attentive service.
Nice bar afterwards.
Overall very good, would have given outstanding but the rice in the mushroom risotto was under cooked. Flavour was superb though. Speed of service and ambience spot on as always. Ideal pre-theatre venue when visiting the RAH.
Very tasty food nice and quick service. Ideal for before theatre bite. Mushroom risotto absolutely delicious, portions perfect size. Will certainly go again
We had the pre-theatre set menu, which was good value for money. We also had wine and bottled water, which we thought were expensive and bumped up the total cost of dinner considerably. Service was quick and attentive and overall we enjoyed our dining experience
Dinner after the show was well priced and delicious..... the small portions may not suit everyone....
Lovely restaurant to have a high quality pre theatre dinner within 5 min walk of Royal Albert Hall
Excellent location for pre theatre meal.
We booked to allow a nice dinner before we went to the Royal Albert Hall, unfortunately when we sat down we were told we could not order from the a la carte menu, just the ‘pre theatre’ menu which was very limited. Disappointing.
Very nice restaurant with great service. We were going to the Albert Hall for a show and so had the pre-theatre set menu which was perfect. We arrived a bit early so we had a drink in the bar which was great. Perfectly situated for going on to the Albert Hall which is about a 5 minute walk away.
Very convenient for eating before show at Albert Hall. Cheerful, courteous and efficient service. Good value for set menus but pricey a la carte. Portions on the small size but food delicious and well presented. Firmly recommended.
Good location for Royal Albert Hall and pre theatre menu is good value.
Outstanding food and service. My only comment is that the staff should wear antiperspirant as body odour and food dont mix.
Nice food and friendly atmosphere. And really convenient for Royal Albert Hall
Gorgeous atmosphere and excellent service - we will definitely be back.
Restaurant offers a pre-theatre menu. No food served until very late. Had to drop the desert as no time left before having to leave for the theatre. Created as stressful evening, which should have been a nice dinner before a show.
We chose this restaurant because of the Menus online looked great.. On arrival we were given a different, very limited menu. We were told it was the ‘Christmas menu’ and that it had been on the website for a few days. This wasn’t the case. I had looked at the website the day before and there was no mention of a ‘Christmas’ menu. There were pre-theatre and a la carte menus. There were only 3 starters and 3 mains to choose from on the menu we were given, and they weren’t very inspiring. We asked if the chef could do something different but we were told no. We didn’t have time to go elsewhere so we stayed. The portions were really small. The service was slack. Our glasses sat needing to be refilled often, the waiter was not observant and needed prompting by the more senior waiter. There was no atmosphere and I won’t be recommending this restaurant.
What an appalling place. We had to ask for a menu, and we picked from the pre-theatre classic french menu - my "onion tarte tatin" was "deconstructed" so it was a mass of salad, with some sliced red onion on a sheet of pastry - edible - but pretty poor. Then I had the slow cooked pork - which was just a sheet of fat underneath very non-crispy skin. Awful - I still shudder now. At £10 for a regular glass of rose wine - this was also expensive. The 2 course meal was £26 a head. I did complain and the manager agreed that the tarte was disappointing and she had spoken before to the chef (who clearly does not listen) - and she waived the cost of my meal - which was the only good thing about the place - still I would have rather paid and actually got some food!. Finally tables are very close together and the portions are pretty small. You have been warned.
Very good, thoughtful service. Food appreciated by all quests. After show meal served promptly.
Very pleasant pre theatre dinner, efficient and attentive
Great Pre theater dinner - staff was wonderful and friendly - kept our schedule in mind yet we didn’t feel rushed . Food was excellent !
The early dinner is very, very limited in choice, both the quantity & quality are not very good, the price is frankly ridiculous for what you get. It looks reasonable when you book at £30 per head but add a glass of wine, bottle of water and service charge & you finish up with a £95 bill. No thanks, not again for us.
190 is the perfect spot for dinner before a concert at The Royal Albert Hall. The food is excellent, service is exceptional and the staff understand that most of the diners need to be at a concert by a certain time. The room is elegant but unstuffy and we have visited several times.
Very civilised place for pre theatre meal only 5 minutes from Royal Albert Hall. Expensive for small portions but good quality food.
They just closed
Sat by window, cold draught!
Waited long time for Main course. Had to ask when was it coming?
Starter and Main Fish were good.
Service was Not very good.
No one asked if everything was ok.
I had to get up to borrow salt from another table. Service charge too high for quality of service but because with friends I did not say.
I booked, as offered on line, for a two course pre theatre meal with glass of wine, for £30, but on night we were charged for Wine!
But this was not realised until too late and we had left restaurant.
Only reason I would recommend 190 to friends is because of convenience to Royal Albert Hall.
The setting is lovely and appropriate for the quality of food / price.
The welcome was very good indeed and I enjoyed the service too.
Food was just brilliant and good value.
Attentive service was outstanding, in that, it was appropriate and timely.
Tables very close together.
Good service ,food and value . Very convenient for pre-theatre dining - Royal Albert Hall
The atmosphere was just what we needed, we had not seen our two companions for a number of years so being able to talk in comfortable and welcoming surroundings was perfect. How refreshing to be presented with a menu that managed to combine not overloading you with choice and at the same time offering a very good variety of dishes. I had the Beef Short Rib (I was wavering between that and the Chicken and the waiter recommended it). It was delicious. I will definitely return.
Always come here before visiting the Albert Hall. Lovely ambiance and good food. Service is always friendly and efficient
Pre theatre menu took over an hour to deliver & this was after twice having to remind the staff that we would be late for the start of a concert
Booked as restaurant was close to the Royal Albert Hall and went for the pre-theatre menu. Really nice menu and food was fantastic. Service was very good and was not kept waiting in between courses. Really nice atmosphere, would thorough recommend!
Very tasty. Good service.
One of our favourite place to have a quiet dinner with family or friends
Amazing meals. One of the best restaurants in London.
The food was good although the portions were rather small. The restaurant is beautifully decorated.
We were a party of 10 family members, celebrating my daughter's graduation. I had asked on the phone if we could order from both the set and a la carte menu, without pre-ordering. This was agreed. Yet, on the night, the head waiter was adamant that the a la carte menu was not available until 7pm (we were booked for 6pm). His manner was short, unpleasant and argumentative. He didn't seem interested in honouring the agreement I had had on the phone, or in helping us have a good experience in the restaurant. It spoiled the atmosphere for us a little bit. In the end, his colleague took our order that included a la carte dishes, so we weren't sure why the argument with the head waiter.
All in all we enjoyed the meal though, the dishes were well cooked and could not be faulted.
Relaxed restaurant in the Gore Hotel very close to the Albert Hotel. Wood panelled room with similar bar across the corridor. Good quality British/European menu which was of a high standard, excellent value pre-theatre menu. Perfect if you’re going to the Albert Hall.
This was the perfect pre-concert setting. The manager on duty was warm and welcoming and the service overall was professional. Food was tasty and good value. Ambience was perfect. would definitely return here next time attending something at the Albert Hall.
We picked the pre-theatre menu as we had a show booked at The Royal Albert Hall. We arrived for around 5.40pm and ordered after about 10mins. The starter came out quickly and was very nice. We waited about 40mins for our main and as it was so late, we had to cancel our desert. When we asked for the bill, we were almost charged for 4 deserts, luckily we checked. I also felt it very cheeky they placed a service charge to the bill when the service wasn't suitable for a pre show dinner.
