19 Kitchen & Bar - Harvey's Lake Tahoe Ratings and Reviews
We've been many times and this was the first time I left disappointed. The Lobster Chowder, what Lobster? And the Lobster Mash, same thing. Two of my favorite dishes this time were far from it. :( Our servers, The Sean's were good and on the ball, which is why I gave service a 4. The table we got was in a very strange location and was awkward. The strangest thing was when we were getting our table, the gentleman up front was talking to a "high rollers" family in front of us, they were complaining that there children were asked to leave the casino, then he was talking with us getting us our table, a call came in, asked us to hold and then walked off the the "high roller" who came in behind us. He had to announce who he was and rudely interrupt us. You can't control the other guests but you can control your actions. You don't know who we are nor would we announce it, that's not are style but everyone should be greeted with a warm welcome. I frequently come to Tahoe and with the loss of one of your best servers it seems something has changed.
We were looking forward to our New Years Eve dinner as we have eaten at 19 Kitchen before and enjoyed it. This time however, the service was poor and the food was just okay. We had to keep catching our waiter's eye to check on our appetizers, entrees and dessert. It was a prix-fix menu so there was no surprise what customers were going to order, so service should have been better. When we finally got coffee it was just luke warm. Probably won't go back anytime soon.
The food was incredible and you can't beat the view of Lake Tahoe from the nineteenth floor. The hostess had us wait five extra minutes to seat us with a better view. Very thoughtful on her part. The bar has a great relaxing mood with couches next to the windows and great background music. I highly recommend it for a special date classy place to eat!
The service is always top notch and the view is beautiful. The staff has been there for years so they know their stuff. Frank the maître d’ is always friendly and seats you on time for your reservation. The cotton candy at the end is a great way to end the meal.
From the moment we arrived to the time we left everything was great! Frank seated us at an amazing table with a great view. If you want to see the sunset make sure you go early or else your not going to enjoy what your paying for. Make sure too that you get the doughnuts for dessert! It’s a must! We love going here and can’t wait to go back.
Beautiful views and nice ambiance. The menu selection was good but the service was on the slower side. Once the staff notice we had been waiting a while, they were attentive. I would return again but not after sunset. It’s a great place to see the lake before dark!
Kitchen 19 is a great spot. We enjoy going for a special occasion. This time we were celebrating our friends 30th birthday. Frank is the host running the show. He made sure the evening was exceptional as usual. Our booth over looked beautiful Lake Tahoe at sunset. Wine and food were great! The lobster popcorn special was a delicious starter with my go to oyster sampler. All our entrees were cooked to perfection. Size of portions were perfect. We ended the night with cotton candy. A night to remember.
Service was ok except they didn't bring me cotton candy, just my check. I saw it being given to lots of tables and when I asked they said something about my having the "bistro" menu?? I had an expensive appetizer, salmon, and wine but didn't qualify for cotton candy? They did bring me some when I asked.
Food also ok, but nothing special; salmon was hard and dry around the edges. Great view, but wasn't worth the money.
19 Kitchen and Bar was an awesome dinner to celebrate my husband's birthday. The view of the lake and the mountains is beautiful. Definitely go before sunset so you can enjoy the views! The food was delicious and priced pretty standard for a steak and seafood restaurant. A fun bonus - we got a plate of cotton candy at the end of our meal! I also got the cotton candy martini and I would highly recommend. Definitely a very sweet martini, but the presentation is great and it is delicious. The service and the food was great and we really enjoyed our time.
My only complaint would be that immediately after you sit down, someone comes to your table and offers you Pellegrino or Fiji water. The person who came to our table had a very thick accent so it sounded like it was something that came with our meal. Wrong...we ended up paying $16 for the water (which was more than my Husband's two beers). So unless you have a fancy for one of those waters, I suggest you just say no and request some tap water.
Overall it was a blast and we had a great time!
Dated decor - looked like an old casino restaurant- which... it is. Food was excellent, view was excellent. But we waited 30 minutes for our reservation- and watched other couples walk right in ahead of us. Staff seemed disorganized, didn't leave a good impression from the start. For the money, I would go somewhere else.
The view from this restaurant is why we went here. The food was a bonus. Everything we had was delicious! We asked to be relocated to a table at the window and they were more than accommodating. The service was excellent. The cotton candy at the end of the night was a fun addition (given with the bill). We will probably be back next time in Tahoe
