19 Kitchen & Bar - Harvey's Lake Tahoe Ratings and Reviews
The views were nice overlooking the lake and the food wasn't bad but the service was awful. Perhaps it was just a bad night for the wait staff but the attentiveness of the waitress was sub par at best, especially for a restaurant of this supposed quality. For the prices you're paying here, we would expect a lot more from the wait staff. The decor was a little off putting as well. At the end of the day, even if the service had been better, we probably wouldn't come back and spend money at the this restaurant. There's plenty of other places in Tahoe that provide better food, service, and comparable views.
Unfortunately our much anticipated dining experience was a non-event. Although the restaurant did not seem exceptionally packed (We dined on a Tuesday night), we were asked to take a seat in the lounge where we waited about 20 minutes. We were finally seated at a table next to a very large and loud crowd. Honestly could not hear ourselves talk to one another. We had no service from our waiter for at least 20 minutes and decided finally to get up as leave as we had a show to go to and didn't want to miss it. Not sure how all of this happened. Normally this is a top spot for us with excellent food and service. Despite this experience, we'll give it another try at some point in the future.
This is our favorite restaurant in South Lake Tahoe/ Stateline area! First, we are always receive good service and Myla up held that-attentive yet not overbearing- her team worked well together. The host was friendly, fun and respectful. Second, our meal was prepared perfectly as ordered. And last, the ambience was outstanding with a wonderful view. The business casual dress coupled with the relaxed atmosphere , excellent menu and effective service shows commitment to customers. We always leave satisfied.
Our family vacation is in Tahoe each August and 19 in the restaurant for the family dinner. We are from Cleveland and our children meet us in Tahoe from Dallas, New Orleans and Atlanta. The views are spectacular (make an early reservation before the sun sets) and the food is great. Service is personal and dress can be casual or dress up. I highly recommend this restaurant if you are in the Tahoe area.
We have been to Kitchen 19 many times in the past and found it enjoyable. Our recent experience was not as good as usual. The food was good but nothing exciting. The prices are steep compared to the quality. The service was just a bit off. Overall not a horrible experience, but there are plenty of other better options in Tahoe for a fine dining experience.
The view of Lake Tahoe is definitely lovely but the food was very over priced for the quality. There are interesting choices on the specials menu, but our party of four all felt our meal was satisfactory but not great, especially when the price is taken into consideration. Our server was well educated regarding the wine list and was attentive to our table. Overall, the view is the highlight not the food.
This restaurant is a must when in Tahoe!!!
The views from the top of Harvey's at 19 Kitchen are the best.
The service was friendly and attentive.
The watermelon salad was a delight!
The Chilian Sea Bass tender and flavorful!
Love the cotton candy, what a surprise!
Great atmosphere, service and food. We got the window seat with the beautiful view of the lake we requested, the hostess was friendly and timely and the waiter timed everything just perfectly. We had the three-tiered raw & lobster/crab appetizer, to die for, and the pizza and the black truffle mac and cheese which was outstanding. We love to go here whenever we're in Tahoe. Highly recommend.
Our food was delicious. The ambiance was terrific - we sat window-side with a spectacular lake view, and the guests closest to our table were very pleasant. Besides the follow-up customer service from our water server (which by the way we didn't realize was not complimentary), our server did not come to see how we were doing once all evening except to bring out check (but I noticed every other guest around us received excellent service from the "same" server). I will not come back or recommend this restaurant to friends and family.
I took my elderly Mom to dinner and the staff was very patient and helpful. First, the Maitre d' was helpful in changing our table to a view table even on the 4th when seating was limited. Mom needs soft vegetables and the waiter recommended extra steaming of the asparagus that worked out well. The wait staff was also patient when mom had to go to the restroom a few times during the meal. Overall the staff was very helpful and professional and the food was very good. A little pricey, but it's worth it for the service and the view from the 19th floor.
We were with our friends for A pre July 4th dinner, and welcome our Friday X back to Tahoe after he suffered his first heart attach while sking in Heavenly last December. So I asked for a table with a Lake veiw to celebrate. When we arrived 20 minutes early following walk, the hostest warmly welcomed us and set us at a comfortable bar lounge with lake view before sunset. 10 min later, she helped us to move to the "very best table" in the whole restaurant! And it is not an overstatement! Out tbake for 4 is in a closest corner to the lake, surrounded on two sides by floor to ceiling windows with unobstructed view of Lake Tahoe with a sunset in process! This is also the first time we have been here since the renovation, and the food is as good as ever. We have two type of oysters, and all of us went for seafood, 2 Chileano Sea basses, a Dorver Sole, and a special seafood angle hair paste. We shared a bottle of Duckhorn white wine, and were each very happy with our wonderful dinning experience. And the sunset is incredible! I also loved my watermelon salad, so summary and light, with an artistic presentation! Overall very happy! They are as good as Friday's across the street! Five stars!
Dinner was delicious! I had the bone-in rib eye which was enough for 2 people. Slight char with pink center served with two craft sauces. Lobster mashed potatoes were soooo good. The caesar salad presentation with the fresh croutons set the stage for the wonderful dishes to come. Where else can you get a bowl of fluffy, lighter than air, pink cotton candy and fresh made to order donuts for dessert. Service was friendly, efficient and very attentive without being obtrusive which we very much appreciated.
A must for dinner!
We were the second to the last reservation slot and we were rushed the whole time. Our waiter made no mention or special of our anniversary and we had people coming by what felt like every 5 minutes to gather plates. Once I still had food in my mouth and was asked if I was finished. Very poor service, if you want people out earlier, don't make reservation slots available so late.
Where do I start? First of all I called on three separate occasions more than a week in advance to make a reservation. The phone was never answered allon three of the calls. It went to an answering machine all three times. Apparently the lady at the podium doesn't like to answer the phone. So I made a reservation on OpenTable and request Ed a table in front on the lake. Made the OpenTable reservation just so insurance. Finally on a Tuesday night the lady answers the phone. I tell her to make the reservation for Tuesday June 18th at 7pm. I also ask if I can request a table in front of the lake. She said it should be fine because they're not busy on Tuesdays. June 18th arrives. We show up to the podium at 6:30 the lady Informs me people are still dining at our table and she'll come get us at the bar when the table is ready. 7pm arrives she bring us to our table. I assume it was the table I requested more than a week ago. It wasn't. She tried to seat us in the back corner of the restaurant, at a table with no view next to a handicapped gentlemen and his wife. I assume they just shoved him in the corner. He tells me he just walked in of the street and got that table. So I told the lady I didn't want to sit there. She says we have to wait for our table to open up because a couple is having a anniversary dinner. So we waited another 15 minutes. Now coming to the food. The waiter was concerned with the two parties on each side of us because I think they were locals Soo he made his helper bring our food and get our drinks. He only showed up when it was time to bring the check. He also forgot my glass of wine I ordered at the begining of the meal. The steak was good but overpriced. And I believe I payed either 5dollars our 10 dollars a glass for iced tea. The steaks are better at other steakhoyses. Overall it was a horrible experience.
Great restaurant for special occasions, anniversaries, etc. we had the salmon for dinner. Best we ever had. Split a great Caesar salad and had a chocolate bread pudding for dessert. Our waitress recommended a port to go with that. Great food, great service, and an unbelievable view of the lake and mountains. Price was reasonable given the quality of the meal.
