19 Kitchen & Bar - Harvey's Lake Tahoe Ratings and Reviews
From the moment we arrived to the time we left everything was great! Frank seated us at an amazing table with a great view. If you want to see the sunset make sure you go early or else your not going to enjoy what your paying for. Make sure too that you get the doughnuts for dessert! It’s a must! We love going here and can’t wait to go back.
Beautiful views and nice ambiance. The menu selection was good but the service was on the slower side. Once the staff notice we had been waiting a while, they were attentive. I would return again but not after sunset. It’s a great place to see the lake before dark!
Kitchen 19 is a great spot. We enjoy going for a special occasion. This time we were celebrating our friends 30th birthday. Frank is the host running the show. He made sure the evening was exceptional as usual. Our booth over looked beautiful Lake Tahoe at sunset. Wine and food were great! The lobster popcorn special was a delicious starter with my go to oyster sampler. All our entrees were cooked to perfection. Size of portions were perfect. We ended the night with cotton candy. A night to remember.
Service was ok except they didn't bring me cotton candy, just my check. I saw it being given to lots of tables and when I asked they said something about my having the "bistro" menu?? I had an expensive appetizer, salmon, and wine but didn't qualify for cotton candy? They did bring me some when I asked.
Food also ok, but nothing special; salmon was hard and dry around the edges. Great view, but wasn't worth the money.
19 Kitchen and Bar was an awesome dinner to celebrate my husband's birthday. The view of the lake and the mountains is beautiful. Definitely go before sunset so you can enjoy the views! The food was delicious and priced pretty standard for a steak and seafood restaurant. A fun bonus - we got a plate of cotton candy at the end of our meal! I also got the cotton candy martini and I would highly recommend. Definitely a very sweet martini, but the presentation is great and it is delicious. The service and the food was great and we really enjoyed our time.
My only complaint would be that immediately after you sit down, someone comes to your table and offers you Pellegrino or Fiji water. The person who came to our table had a very thick accent so it sounded like it was something that came with our meal. Wrong...we ended up paying $16 for the water (which was more than my Husband's two beers). So unless you have a fancy for one of those waters, I suggest you just say no and request some tap water.
Overall it was a blast and we had a great time!
Dated decor - looked like an old casino restaurant- which... it is. Food was excellent, view was excellent. But we waited 30 minutes for our reservation- and watched other couples walk right in ahead of us. Staff seemed disorganized, didn't leave a good impression from the start. For the money, I would go somewhere else.
The view from this restaurant is why we went here. The food was a bonus. Everything we had was delicious! We asked to be relocated to a table at the window and they were more than accommodating. The service was excellent. The cotton candy at the end of the night was a fun addition (given with the bill). We will probably be back next time in Tahoe
Loved the view. Everyone made us feel very special while celebrating our Anniversary up until a bowl of cotton candy was delivered. Really? The last thing our pallet wanted to enjoy was cotton candy after having a fine steak and wonderful wine.
It was simply gross and was very disappointing. Customers who spend upwards of $150 for dining deserve a quality special occasion treat. Cotton Candy does not qualify. Serve that to children, not adults.
We have eaten here many times and it is always excellent. The food is delicious and very well prepared. The service people are all friendly, courteous and accommodating. They also actually respond to a special occasion whereas across the street, they asked but didn't do a thing by way of acknowledging the occasion. This is a restaurant that I choose for any special occasion because they keep it special.
Our service was so slow that the patrons at the next table stopped to remark, "I hope that steak and salmon are good since it took so long for you to get it". He also remarked that his steak was cold. The view of Lake Tahoe was very nice but did not make up for the poor service.
Gin and tonic was served in a daiquiri glass, "we ran out of glasses". The Margarita on the rocks was served as a slushy. When I asked why I was billed for a split of Champagne I was told that it was opened to mix my Beverly Hills tea, making that drink cost $22. The server then returned to the table with a bit of an attitude and an open bottle of Champagne, "you can keep that". We will not be returning at our next visit to Lake Tahoe, they are not the only restaurant with a view of the lake.
