Food all very good..
Waiter was friendly and did a good job, but was stretched
way too thin with the number of tables he had.
Good cocktails. Appetizers were unusually small portions to share. Food was cold. Average 'Q at best. Service was indifferent.
The place was empty at 6:00pm. Must make their money at lunch.
Great barbecue w a good selection. Prices higher due to ambience but worth it for a BBQ fix in the city.
BBQ was very good, but the smoked salmon appetizer was out of this world crazy good. We are putting this one on the list of regular dining spots!
Chairs like ice cream parlor chairs are very uncomfortable.
The best parts of our experience were the valet and host. It was all downhill from there.
Food was shockingly mediocre. Brisket was room temp and dry. Not leathery dry, but definitely no meat juice.
Ribs were good but extremely salty. Same with the pulled pork. Good but extremely salty.
The sides were kinda sad. Texture of the Brussels sprouts was great. Tender and crispy at the same time. Lacked seasoning and were oddly cold. Not sure how they were still crispy..
Mashed potatoes were great.
Mac and cheese was sad. Tasted like cafeteria style with cheese baked on top.
No bread or rolls are served with the bbq, which seems odd to me.
Sauce is left on table and cold. I’d appreciate some hot bbq sauce served with the meal.
Apple pies were off putting. Burnt taste.
Service was friendly but inattentive.
Excellent food and a wonderful place for my business lunch.
The food was excellent once it came out. They were under-staffed during our visit; it took a long time for us to get served and it just seemed that they weren’t prepared for their guests. The “family-sized” portions were small, a couple of our sides were cold when they came out, and one of our sides was forgotten entirely. The cocktails were great, and the meat entrees were VERY good. I have a feeling that on a different night with more staffing, it could have been an awesome experience.
Everything was great, except (1) service was slow and inattentive; and (2) brownie desert was exceptionally dry. Otherwise, food was great.
The Burnt End Appetizer was very good, however, everything after was fair to poor. We ordered a half pound of Brisket, and a half pound of pork. The brisket was 70% fat and tasted like roast beef.
Servers took 10 mins to bring silverware. We told 3 different people, still no silverware. Drinks took over 20 mins.
Horrible service, food digusting
Had 7:30 reservations had to wait about 30 mins for table they were out of brisket and it took about an hour to get our food
It was Saturday night and we made reservations. We were visiting from Southern California having dinner with a family member who lives locally. The place was cute and I loved the decor. They were extremely short staffed. I believe the owner served us. He explained that he was short staffed and he would be doing the waiter, bar tender, manager position. He was gracious in taking off a couple items off our bill. It was one of the those situations where I felt like rolling up my sleeves to help him out in accommodating the other patrons. Our food was cold. My boyfriend had the brisket. He said it was cold and tough. My daughter had the brisket and pulled pork. She said it was tough and dry. She loved the Mac and cheese. I enjoyed my coleslaw. Would I try this place again? Yes I would. The night I visited was an off night. Things happened and I know the owner was working hard to accommodate all his customers.
Great smoky, Kansas-style bbq. We shared several sides and really enjoyed the brussel sprouts and macaroni and cheese. A great place to hit up if you're looking for a more elevated bbq spot.
The food was amazing. The building is very aesthetically pleasing. The service was great. The prices are very reasonable.
Easily some of the best BBQ I’ve had in my entire life. The jalapeño cheese grits and jalapeño cheddar sausage were incredible and worth the price of the meal alone. The wait staff worked as a team and gave us friendly and exceptional service. It made for a memorable and delightful Valentine’s Day dinner.
Food was cold, service slow. Was sitting maybe a foot away from strangers, couldn't even have a comfortable conversation.
For a barbecue place we had high hopes for the pork ribs, however they came out with the membrane attached and very tough/chewy. The waiter kindly offered me another entree which I opted for (jalapeño sausage) and it was very good. Right after sending my ribs back the table next to me also sent there’s back, so it wasn’t just me. The appetizers were amazing and the overall experience was good, just don’t order the ribs haha.
Service is impeccable and the food is consistently delicious.
Absolutely loved it. We will definitely be back in soon.
Great service and excellent food, a perfect place to meet up with friends.
Fantastic bbq and the sides are other worldly. Ambiance is great also and the bar scene is warm and inviting. Good place to hang out with friends and get food and drinks.
Excellent in every way!
Even if you aren't familiar with Kansas City style BBQ, you will love this restaurant. Always great food, friendly service, and inviting ambiance.
Morgan was awesome. Great barbecue!
Food excellent. Wine: small pour. Belvedere on rocks:
Very small pour. Overpriced.
Brisket was a bit dry
Not typical BBQ. Food is very good. The Sha-Bang is a great deal, Appetizer, 1lb meat, two sides and one dessert, $45.00 for two. Service is an issue. If you are not in a hurry and want nice bbq in a great atmosphere, then go.
Great place. Made reservations for a large group, table was ready when we arrived, everything just as requested. The food was incredible - everyone enjoyed!
Another excellent restaurant by Chef Scott Gottlich!
From the time my boyfriend and I walked in for date night, we were given GREAT service. We had to wait a few minutes for our table so we sat at the bar and ordered a few cocktails with Blake. Blake was very kind and friendly and we ended up just having dinner at bar. We went along with his recommendation and tried to the brisket, chicken, ribs, mac and cheese, and potatoes. Everything was delish! Blake made the experience even better by giving us quality service. Thanks Blake! We will be back!
Anniversary celebration for my parents. The best barbecue I’ve ever had. Great service and a really nice time.
Great restaurant Good food, great bar. Definitely must try it
Came here with big expectations as 18th & Vine is near the top of almost every "best bbq in Dallas" list. The service was fine, and it is a really nice facility, but the truth is that there is much better bbq in Dallas. Pecan Lodge, Cattleack, Off The Bone, and Lockhart to name a few.
The food at 18th & Vine is chain restaurant quality bbq at best. If we hadn't already had Pecan Lodge and Cattleack before coming to 18th & Vine, maybe the bar wouldn't have been set so high. In any case, in my opinion 18th & Vine should not be mentioned in the top echelon of bbq in Dallas. We went on a Saturday afternoon.
Management did not care to listen when we were there. Not going to waste my time sharing it here. Poor Service and poor portions for the prices.
Service was horrible. Out of five menu items. Employees walking around frowning...no energy. Don’t waste your time or money. One of my worst dining experiences ever.
