Food was good but the room was cold
This place was recommended in Open Table for it’s Kansas City style BBQ. Not sure why. I have eaten bbq in Texas many times. I had the brisket and my wife had the smoked sausage. My brisket was salty and overly smoke tasting—which I didn’t think possible. To me, the smoked sausage was not edible even though my wife managed a few bites. Avoid.
Meats were delicious....side items not so much! Mac cheese and jalapeno cheese grits were bland....not much taste to them.
The food was phenomenal and so was the service! Blake was attentive and helpful without being overbearing. The burnt ends literally melt in your mouth. I had the brisket and pork ribs with Mac and cheese for lunch - amazing! This is a don’t miss place! I will be back every time I visit Dallas!
Blake was FABULOUS!!! We had such a great time here in Dallas and he made the best bloody this side of New Orleans. Look at the photos - the burnt ends were amazing!!!!
We discovered this restaurant after hearing its owner present at the Texas State Fair last year, and try to make it back every time we're in Dallas. I took our younger son this weekend and his reaction was, "Oh my gosh." Instant fan. :) Hands down my favorite barbeque in Oklahoma or Texas. Love the ribs, and the fried okra is fantastic. Parking is a slight hassle, but it's well worth it.
I loved this place the food and service was awesome! The atmosphere was great!
No allergy help or Gluten Free food. Waitress not helpful
This unique chef owned barbecue restaurant continues to deliver...this was our third meal over a few months. The quality of the food and service are both outstanding. The environment is friendly and casual while quiet enough to have a conversation. The fried okra is the best anywhere...ditto for all of the smoked meats. We also like the hot, smoked salmon.
Brought friends from out of town. The food was good, atmosphere just right to sit and talk and laugh. No rush on us. Food was very tasty BBQ. They have an appetizer which everyone raved about - the tips.
I was sooo looking forward to their "competition ribs", and unfortunately I was very disappointed,, the flavor was there but they were (tough), I mean don't come off bone, chewy, tough,, I think it had to be an off night I guess, (Friday night), anyway the sides, drinks etc were good, just the main course was not even close to what I expected,
First time here and exceeded expectations. Was perfect venue with great food & staff.
This was an absolute amazing experience. The mexicutioner and burnt ends were life altering experiences. Service was pristine and food was Delicious and well executed.
Great spot for lunch. Food and service are always good. Freezing cold inside. Outside front patio was better.
The Brisket needed to be trimmed. Not much edible after trimming off that fat layer.
Turkey was good, the beans were way too sweet. No bread, or pickles, or onion. Missing basics.
Easy to get into and good parking. Bright and vibrant inside that has good decor and design. Was served by several people during our evening; waitstaff was very friendly. Initially delivered the wrong orders but was corrected. Collard greens were fantastic. Cocktails looked very interesting although didn't try. Overall average experience although I'd pick my BBQ from another place if given the option.
The best BBQ I have ever had. Even the cauliflower steak was out of this world. The highlight though was the staff and especially Jerry Tong. This guy made the day and really steared us for the best choices better ways to order them and size mgmt. he also brought my wife a pineapple champagne that was perfect so we ordered more. Don’t miss this amazing food in this incredible restaurant with the best staff. Go back to the bar area to get Jerry Tong.
The service was great (shout out to Jacoby)! But, as a BBQ connoisseur, I found their food to be subpar. The mac and cheese was not seasoned. The greens were made with Apple Cider Vinegar (I clutched my pearls) and were not what I expected. THE BURNT ENDS ARE AMAZING, but expensive for the portion. The pit beans were good. Brisket was okay, ribs were better. My friend and I both left hungry and dissatisfied. The service and ambiance were great, but nothing else met our expectations.
18th and Vine was an excellent experience from the service to the food. Food was amazing. I will definitely be going back and taking more people.
Morgan is a standout. Very sophisticated and helpful.
Nice Texas style BBQ place with a very friendly reservation sustem, and excellent food and great service!
Loved the burnt end and pairing it with the pickled onions and pickles was a great mix of sweet and sour. Yum
I really enjoyed this place. The only reason for the 3-star on food was the Mac and Cheese was bland, while the grits were over salted, and the homemade sausage was okay.
This was a great choice for a celebratory birthday dinner! The food was great, the service was stellar, and the atmosphere was peaceful. 10/10 recommend
Great chef! OUTSTANDING customer service by Morgan! The food is soooo tasty! And this is defined a great option for a Friday get together with a few friends!
The service was very friendly and helpful in a very timely manner. I watched around and everyone was enjoying themselves and getting served quickly. The only downfall is that the food was a bit salty. I get it for the fried food, but the mashed potatoes that sounded so promising were so very salty that i could not eat them. It kind of ruined the flavor of everything else as now it all seemed salty. I think it might have just been a one off as they are somewhat of a signature side.
Fairly empty for a Saturday night in Dallas. Not sure if that reflects the time of year or the restaurants appeal. Server was friendly & accommodating. But tap beers came extra-slow. The BBQ was very, very fatty. That’s NOT KC Style, at all. Burnt ends were undercooked; not crispy. The pork chop was best. Sides lackluster. The sauce was an interesting mix of Bryant’s/Gates style. Liked the dinning room design & the bar. Needs some work on attention to detail & a new bartender. May try them again; if it lasts. Dallas is a unforgiving market!
Darn good authentic BBQ...meat is seasoned/smoked to drool-by-smell quality. Ribs, brisket, pork all ravs... Popular enough that you should call ahead to see if availability of menu items are good. They post "limited availability" with meat-by-pound but was shocked at 5:30 they were out of mashed potatoes.
Great BBQ experience - brisket and turkey were fabulous. The wait staff was really helpful in deciding what to try and very attentive. The only downside was the Peach Cobbler dessert - more like brown sugar soup with a couple of peaches.
Spectacular brisket and burnt ends!!!
Great as always! The best barbeque in Dallas, in my opinion as a KC transplant. Try a Boulevard beer and a "Two 'Que Plate" (my favorite combo is pulled pork & brisket with pit beans).
If you have never tasted Kansas City style barbecue, this is a must-eat destination. Taste everything and enjoy! It's all in a cute house that feels like home. For dessert, have the empanadas.
Our waiter is the best we have ever had. Besides that he was working on his birthday. The hostess was MOST welcoming. All staff members were excellent
It was our anniversary and maybe I should have mentioned that to the hostess but I didn’t. We were seated downstairs at a table that just didn’t seem even semi-private. It was just too casual. The waiter was super attentive and polite (Anthony or Antonio, I think). The food was pretty good. I don’t know what I was thinking. Messy BBQ for our anniversary was probably not the best idea.
Fantastic birthday dinner at 8th & Vine! Great food - a good mix of pulled pork, ribs and brisket. We also had Brussels sprouts, fried okra, cauliflower steak with pesto, potato skins, blue cheese salad, etc. Great wine, great craft cocktails, great atmosphere! Thank you for making our Saturday night so special. Fun staff and excellent service!
Had an amazing dinner! We got the pulled pork ribs and 4 diff sides ! Highly recommend
Great place, great food. My only criticism would be that they were anxious to turn over the table even though there were other vacant tables in the restaurant.
too salty- everything is too salty. ribs are good but $24 for 8 ribs?? Seems a bit pricey.
