This place is a hidden gem. A little off the beaten path but its worth venturing to. The staff is friendly, pleasant, and attentive. The food was amazing; Started with Queso w/ pulled pork, Turkey, ribs, and brisket for entrees complemented with charred Brussels sprouts and their vinegar based slaw. Can't wait to enjoy the patio when the weather heats up!
Great food and really cute atmosphere! Our server was very nice and accommodating!
The service was great. The food was average at best. Had to send one of our meals back because it was ice cold. They microwaved it and brought the same plate back. You could tell it had been refrigerated all day. Ribs were tough. For this to be patterned after KC BBQ, this place wouldn't last a month in Kansas City.
Celebrated New Years here and thought everything was great! BBQ keeps getting better!
The BBQ is the main draw and it is quite good. The meat has a wonderful smokey flavor. Their sauce is good but honestly you don't need it - the meat is so good. I prefer lean cut brisket and they did try and serve it that way but there was still more fat than I like. Still amazing. I also tasted the chicken which was outstanding. We shared a brownie dessert but my husband and son finished it before I could taste it. ;) The atmosphere is very nice...it is a small restaurant with warm and welcoming deco.
This was a great restaurant...I enjoyed the food and drinks...everything was great....The pit beans was delicious.....and the waiter name Isaac was the best waiter I've every had I strongly recommend this restaurant
The waiter was extremely knowledgeable about the menu including the wine list. He was able to describe the difference in wines and how each dish would taste. The pulled pork was amazing and a very large portion size!
That was some of the best brisket I’ve ever had. Everything was amazing. My only problem was I ate way too much.
We came around 9 and we still received great service from the moment we stepped in the door. Also, the bbq was delicious. I will definitely be going back.
Yummy barbeque in a kinda bistro/cafe setting. Burnt ends were delicious. Smoky, grilled brussel sprouts were amazing!
Dinner was so good we came back again the next evening.
Consistently excellent barbecue and good service. I recommend the "Two 'Cue Plate" -- lots of meat and one side. I usually have the chicken and pulled pork, and the brisket and sausage are also great. If you like fried okra, try their appetizer version -- with the seed sliced in half and fried and served with a special sauce -- yummy!
BBQ was cold and sides were bland. Queso and chips came out of a can and the mac-n-cheese had a terrible chemical taste. Service was just as bad as the food. The prices are outrageous and the portions are kid size like. Overall terrible experience in every aspect and would NOT recommend this place to anyone.
We always enjoy 18th & Vine and take many friends there!! Highly recommend the okra appetizer, the two que plate with brisket/pulled pork!! Then you have to save room for the apple fried pies with ice cream!!!!!
Everything. from the atmosphere, to the service, to the good was outstanding. If we’re back in Dallas, 18th and Vine will be on our itinerary.
Two tables in the restaurant with customers and they set us back to back leaving the rest of the place empty... very odd. They offered a dessert for the birthday but no celebration or anything. Food was good though and waitstaff was attentive
This was our fourth time to eat at 18th and Vine. Unfortunately ribs were fairly dry and without a good flavor. The sides were okay, but nothing spectacular. The burnt ends were also dry and undersized for the price. The desserts were the same story, undersized for the price. The buildout is great and the noise level is good if you don't want the noise level of a more crowded BBQ place, but all in all it was a disappointment, as the trend in food quality has been down each time we've eaten at 18th and Vine.
I love the ambiance, the music, the photography on the walls, the bar and most importantly- the food!
We enjoyed our time here. Easy access. Food and service was great.
Everything we ordered was delicious. Highly recommend this place.
It is apparently KC Style BBQ, but it frankly wasn't anything special, especially given the price. Okra is different, but good. For overall food satisfaction I'd probably stick to Rudy's (or Pecan Lodge, if you're in that area) vs going back, especially with the prices. Very nice place though and would be an ok place for a client meeting.
Our waitress was outstanding and everything was very nice! I thought a bit pricey for a BBQ restaurant, but everything was delicious!
Where is my 100 points?
Food was good but the room was cold
This place was recommended in Open Table for it’s Kansas City style BBQ. Not sure why. I have eaten bbq in Texas many times. I had the brisket and my wife had the smoked sausage. My brisket was salty and overly smoke tasting—which I didn’t think possible. To me, the smoked sausage was not edible even though my wife managed a few bites. Avoid.
Meats were delicious....side items not so much! Mac cheese and jalapeno cheese grits were bland....not much taste to them.
The food was phenomenal and so was the service! Blake was attentive and helpful without being overbearing. The burnt ends literally melt in your mouth. I had the brisket and pork ribs with Mac and cheese for lunch - amazing! This is a don’t miss place! I will be back every time I visit Dallas!
Blake was FABULOUS!!! We had such a great time here in Dallas and he made the best bloody this side of New Orleans. Look at the photos - the burnt ends were amazing!!!!
We discovered this restaurant after hearing its owner present at the Texas State Fair last year, and try to make it back every time we're in Dallas. I took our younger son this weekend and his reaction was, "Oh my gosh." Instant fan. :) Hands down my favorite barbeque in Oklahoma or Texas. Love the ribs, and the fried okra is fantastic. Parking is a slight hassle, but it's well worth it.
I loved this place the food and service was awesome! The atmosphere was great!
No allergy help or Gluten Free food. Waitress not helpful
This unique chef owned barbecue restaurant continues to deliver...this was our third meal over a few months. The quality of the food and service are both outstanding. The environment is friendly and casual while quiet enough to have a conversation. The fried okra is the best anywhere...ditto for all of the smoked meats. We also like the hot, smoked salmon.
Brought friends from out of town. The food was good, atmosphere just right to sit and talk and laugh. No rush on us. Food was very tasty BBQ. They have an appetizer which everyone raved about - the tips.
I was sooo looking forward to their "competition ribs", and unfortunately I was very disappointed,, the flavor was there but they were (tough), I mean don't come off bone, chewy, tough,, I think it had to be an off night I guess, (Friday night), anyway the sides, drinks etc were good, just the main course was not even close to what I expected,
First time here and exceeded expectations. Was perfect venue with great food & staff.
This was an absolute amazing experience. The mexicutioner and burnt ends were life altering experiences. Service was pristine and food was Delicious and well executed.
Great spot for lunch. Food and service are always good. Freezing cold inside. Outside front patio was better.
The Brisket needed to be trimmed. Not much edible after trimming off that fat layer.
Turkey was good, the beans were way too sweet. No bread, or pickles, or onion. Missing basics.
Easy to get into and good parking. Bright and vibrant inside that has good decor and design. Was served by several people during our evening; waitstaff was very friendly. Initially delivered the wrong orders but was corrected. Collard greens were fantastic. Cocktails looked very interesting although didn't try. Overall average experience although I'd pick my BBQ from another place if given the option.
