Darn good authentic BBQ...meat is seasoned/smoked to drool-by-smell quality. Ribs, brisket, pork all ravs... Popular enough that you should call ahead to see if availability of menu items are good. They post "limited availability" with meat-by-pound but was shocked at 5:30 they were out of mashed potatoes.
Great BBQ experience - brisket and turkey were fabulous. The wait staff was really helpful in deciding what to try and very attentive. The only downside was the Peach Cobbler dessert - more like brown sugar soup with a couple of peaches.
Spectacular brisket and burnt ends!!!
Great as always! The best barbeque in Dallas, in my opinion as a KC transplant. Try a Boulevard beer and a "Two 'Que Plate" (my favorite combo is pulled pork & brisket with pit beans).
Our waiter is the best we have ever had. Besides that he was working on his birthday. The hostess was MOST welcoming. All staff members were excellent
It was our anniversary and maybe I should have mentioned that to the hostess but I didn’t. We were seated downstairs at a table that just didn’t seem even semi-private. It was just too casual. The waiter was super attentive and polite (Anthony or Antonio, I think). The food was pretty good. I don’t know what I was thinking. Messy BBQ for our anniversary was probably not the best idea.
Fantastic birthday dinner at 8th & Vine! Great food - a good mix of pulled pork, ribs and brisket. We also had Brussels sprouts, fried okra, cauliflower steak with pesto, potato skins, blue cheese salad, etc. Great wine, great craft cocktails, great atmosphere! Thank you for making our Saturday night so special. Fun staff and excellent service!
Had an amazing dinner! We got the pulled pork ribs and 4 diff sides ! Highly recommend
Great place, great food. My only criticism would be that they were anxious to turn over the table even though there were other vacant tables in the restaurant.
We had a great dinner at 18th and vine! The restaurant had a great vibe with what I would classify as upscale casual. It was wonderfully accommodating for a family but would also be a nice date spot. And the food was absolutely delicious. I would definitely recommend!
Felt like a little bit of home, Kansas City style. Sauce was great but brisket pretty fatty. Like my meat trimmed better. Mac And Cheese nothing to write home about but beans and burnt ends were amazing. Beer selection and service are top notch
Great evening. Upscale barbeque place with options other than their amazing ribs and brisket.
Everything we had was delicious!
From Kansas City and wanted to stop. Food was some of the best food we’ve had in years. Recommend highly.
The food is excellent. The ambiance is cold and it is too loud in the dining room.
Stopped in again to just get together with some friends! We had a blast. Jeremy, our waiter was attentive and provided excellent service. We will be back.
Food was great as usual.
Noise in main dining room LOUD as usual. Hard to hear conversations at the table
Awesome Barbeque! with a full bar and great service.
Food was really good. Our children love BBQ, and they said this was one of the best places in Dallas! We tend to go to the same couple of places for BBQ and we are happy to add a new favorite to the list. We were there on a Sunday afternoon, so hard to say what the evening vibe is like, but there is a cool bar area in a separate room, and it's an old home type setting, yet updated and clean. We'll be back!
I loved it here, the only thing I have to say is I always order too much food when I have BBQ and the sausages are very spicy.
It has fabulous decor, the food is tasty and the staff are lovely. 5 star.
BEST BBQ THIS SIDE OF KANSAS CITY! LOVED EVERY BITE! WHETHER YOU WANT CHICKEN, BRISKET, RIBS, OR PULLED PORK THEY'RE ALL DELICIOUS, TENDER AND UNEXPECTANTLY LIGHT.
THE BURNT ENDS ARE ADDICTIVE. THE COLLARDS ARE SPICY AND FULL OF FLAVOR. THE GRITS ARE DIVINE. THE PIT BEANS YUMMY. THE DESSERTS ARE LIGHT AND FULL OF GOODNESS. THE PORTIONS ARE PERFECT. THE DRINKS ARE FUN AND THERE IS SOMETHING FOR EVERYONE ON THE MENU. DEFINITELY WILL BE BACK. WORTH THE DRIVE FROM SHREVEPORT, LA.
Way overpriced for what this restaurant served. Food quality was fair at best. Go to your local BBQ joint and get a better meal at a much fairer price.
Great food and service. Nice place. As an out of towner I can’t comment on the location but lots of new development in the area.
We went to 18th & Vine for a special occasion with out-of-town guests, and were very happy with our experience. There were six of us, so we appreciated that 18th & Vine took reservations. And we were having a late Sunday brunch so the ambiance of the restaurant was ideal -- relatively quiet allowing us to have good conversation. Our waiter, Jeremy, was great -- he was attentive without being intrusive, and had a great sense of humor and hospitality. The only (very slight) disappointment is that the member of our group who ordered the pork chop special was not as happy with the choice as the rest of us, who ordered barbecue, were. But all in all a very good visit. Will recommend and will return.
We enjoyed the burnt ends as a appetizer although for the price we did expect more on the plate. We each had a 2 meat BBQ plate and again, for the price we expected a little more meat on the plate. Overall the food and service are great, but the prices are a little high.
The booth seating is horrible... way to tight to be comfortable. I would not go again if that was my only option.
The food was fine and the service was good
A little noisy but the food was 10 star! Amazing bar b q sauce and the ribs were very tender.
Food was good! Service was average. Kind of expensive for what you get, but overall we enjoyed it. Get the cheese grits and pulled pork!
I have been here multiple times and consistently have a great experience.
This was my wife's first visit, and she left as satisfied as she could have been.
If possible, request bar seating for a cozy, but friendly setting. I was born in KC, MO and this is a bold statement, but 18th and Vine is as good of KC BBQ as you will get ...even back there! Sorry , "I still won't call it Kansas City" Oklahoma Joe's, but it's genuinely how I feel.
burnt ends, fried okra, brussel sprouts
Can do without:
BBQ sauce (but this is a good thing, despite the sauce being housemade and delicious)
bar seating, the bourbon list is quite good, great background music played over the house system
I thought the food was a 4. Our guests thought it was a 5. So very good overall. I thought my wife's pulled pork was better than my ribs and brisket. My collard green and the beans were very good. My only food complaint is that what they call cobbler is not what I call cobbler. There was NO crust at all. Just a mild sprinkling of tiny crumbles on top. The taste was good. Service was excellent.
Best BBQ I have ever eaten..
Ribs fell off the bone.
Turkey was amazing.
The pulled pork was outstanding.
What can I say about the Brisket except to say WoW!
Oh and the French Fries and Cole slaw.Amazing
And with all that our waiter MICHAEL was just as Amazing as the food! Its so so nice to have a Waiter that knows the food on the menu and is able to describe it in such a way that makes you want to order everything...
Thanks for a great meal!
We will be back for sure.
Service was great. Very kind and helpful and the food was absolutely amazing. The Brisket was so tender and the BBQ sauce was the perfect flavor. Everyone must try the Burnt Ends, they are a must at 18th & Vine! And also get the Sweet Tea, it’s so delicious.
I have had the BBQ delivered before and loved it so I decided to invite some friends to eat here. Again, the food was great but the service was lacking. There were only 3 tables sat and the service was so slow. Took a while to be greeted by our waitress and then took even longer for drinks to make it to the table. Our burnt ends appetizers beat our drinks. We were not in a hurry, just enjoying the company of friends we hadn’t seen in a while so the extended meal was fine, but I would not suggest coming here for a quick bite to eat. The food outweighs all minor service issues though. The burnt ends and brisket are my favorite of all the Dallas BBQ joints I have tried. I may stick to delivery though.
We had a wonderful time at 18th and Vine! There were five of us and we split the Whole Sha-Bang. Your stomach will definitely thank you afterwards, even if in protest. There was so much food and we even were able to box some of it up to take home. We really enjoyed the dining experience and look forward to eating at 18th and Vine again.
We ordered the brisket quest and burnt ends for an appetizer and both were really good. I liked the homemade pickles served with the burnt ends. The bloody mary was good with nothing crazy in it. For my entree I tried the ribs, brisket and sausage. Ribs were fantastic! Sausage had a good kick. I tried the mac n cheese and seasoned fries. Mac n cheese was really buttery. The fries are thin and seasoned nicely. Ordered vanilla ice cream for dessert and it was probably the best I've had. I'm a chocolate girl so quite a surprise!
The food was fabulous and the serving sizes large. The two-top is too small for all the plates we had with our meals, but we were told there wasn't a larger table available at the time we dined.
We'll be back!
Great food, wonderful waitress
I was in Dallas for a few days and tried the KC BBQ at 18th and Vine. We were not disappointed in any way. We started with burnt ends as an appetizer and they were excellent. The really big chopped salad is great and made to share- definitely worth getting.
The brisket was tender, flavorful and juicy with layers of flavor. The pulled pork had a nice mix of bark and was not dry at all and again had layers of flavor. The homemade (in the restaurant) sausage links are off the charts with a slow build up of flavors that seem to reveal more layers with every bite. There is nothing overpowering or dominant, just great flavor. The pork ribs were pretty amazing as well. The meat was tender on the inside with a proper char on the outside and came cleanly off the bone. Again, layers of flavor. The BBQ turkey is also juicy and flavorful.
All of the meat is extremely capable of standing on its own without sauce- great job! The restaurant does offer two sauces on the table; a fairly traditional, but very good KC BBQ sauce and a southern style mopping sauce for pulled pork. Both are excellent and make a nice side for an occasional dip of the magnificent meats.
The Brussels sprouts are the best unadulterated offering I have tried. They are smoked then finished on the grill. Simple, not smoky, and no bitter taste.
Save some room for dessert. The fried apple pies with sweet sour cream and the blueberry, lemon cobbler are excellent.
The staff at this restaurant is excellent. Warm, friendly and happy to answer questions and talk about the great food with you. This place is amazing and I can not recommend it enough. I will be back next time I’m in Dallas - I will have to try the original in KC next time I’m there as well.
The food was full of flavor, wonderful okra, great slab of ribs. The brisket was pretty fatty and the collards were interesting with the touch of sweetness. Service was questionable, just missing the mark for good. Had to ask for appetizer plates, same with needing dinner plates then received a small appetizer plate. Never asked if drink refill needed or dessert. I prefer takeout from them or door dash delivery.
They did a very good job of getting us seated as they had the entire downstairs booked with a wedding party. It was cozy and fun. Food was great.
We had a terrific server named Hillary!
Everything was delicious!
