Sat on the patio with my wife and children (age 2, 3, and 9). We were able to enjoy a really good meal and a jazz guitarist. When the kids got antsy in their seats, we just turned them loose on the yard games. Started getting warm (about 87 degrees in Flagstaff), but the cover over the patio kept us cool. It was Father's Day and I had the brisket special, not on the usual menu. It was amazing...so was the cornbread.

The service was very nice! Everyone was so friendly and polite. I enjoyed the service and the food was good. Tried this place for the first time and it did not disappoint!

Sadly, The food just didn't hit the mark! But.....The staff was very friendly, they gave us mothers a beautiful rose! Nice touch! There was a very nice complimentary danish and fresh fruit spread, which was very nice, and what we had hoped would have been great start to a great brunch. My husband ordered the chicken and waffles, and the portion was kid size. It was a 4 inch mini waffle cut into quarters, with 2 small nuggets of chicken. I ordered the burger - the patty was oval shaped, not round and barely took up half of the bun! But my son ordered the breakfast burrito, and said it was a good size and that it was filling! My son had gone to dinner there with some college staff and said the food was amazing, so we thought we would try it for Mothers day... Unfortunately, not the experience we were hoping for...

Went for Mother's Day brunch. Great experience. Good meal, good value, good vibe, good service and the piano player was good. Would definitely do again. Ingredients were very fresh.

I have been to 1899 several times and love it! this is a hidden gem!! The restaurant is clean, the lighting is decent, the bathrooms are nice, the service is usually good, and the food is outstanding! This particular time, the waitress was a little distracted and it took over two hours to by the time we got our food to getting our bill. I know she had other things on her mind as she stated that she was graduating the next day, but it was a little disappointing. Other than that, everything else was great. Thank you for offering this restaurant on OpenTable as it is a family favorite!!

Excellent spot right in the NAU campus. Menu had a good variety of options and full bar available.

1899 is a fine place to catch dinner on or near the NAU campus. The experience is intended to be a finer dining experience than most places in Flagstaff and I think they accomplish it. The menu is diverse and offers good alternatives or vegetarians and vegans. The restaurant is open concept, so the noise level can be a bit much, but otherwise it is a good place to eat.
