I had the All American breakfast this morning. It was okay, nothing special. Scrambled eggs were a bit oily tasting. Service was friendly and good. Nice atmosphere.
Server was terrible. Took forever for everything. Even the other servers were confused at why he was taking so long. Several people that sat down after us ate and left before we even got our food.
We really enjoyed our breakfast at 1890 at the Arcade. Great service!
The smoothies were awful. The green one with avocados was weird and the berry one was way too bitter. The rest of the food was averagely best. It’s located in a pretty and historic location over a hundred years old. Unfortunately the restaurant furnishing seems as though it’s from that age as well. Would not recommend.
Absolutely a smashing great business lunch! I would recommend this restaurant to anyone.
Great location and and excellent breakfast. Please update the website directions so Google maps can find
GREAT People, food and setting! My family and I attended on a very busy day and it was not a problem!
I love this hidden gem! It has been around for years and really holds its own against the newer and other well-known restaurants around town. As a born and bred Clevelander, I would definitely recommend this restaurant to people visiting and from our home town.
Our daughter was married at the Arcade so we knew the food would be good. The price was very reasonable for an Easter brunch. I was told tables would be on the balcony, but we had a constant flow of people that had to pass our table...we were constantly pushing our chairs in to make room for servers and guests.
I have been very curious about 1890 walking by it frequently, and was very happy to try it. We enjoyed it and will be back.
Easy place to dine in the hotel. Were some issues with how long one dish came out but the food was good and the servers were nice.
Wonderful staff. Friendly and helpful. It was a lovely Valentine's Day dinner.
I have always loved this gem. I don't think a lot of downtown workers are aware of it, but I think the food is awesome and the waitstaff was very attention.
1890 was perfect for our luncheon board meeting. Quiet enough to carry on with business and the wait staff was great with the orders and left us alone during the meeting. Historic atmosphere of the building was a bonus.
The tough part about eating there is that you have to pay steep parking fees. If you have other business in the arcade this place is perfect
We had our Christmas dinner here and the food was good. Our server Lillian was awesome and made the overall experience more pleasant.
Granted, this was a Christmas Day dinner, but they had a special Christmas menu and should have been prepared to provide what was on the menu. Two of us ordered the chicken dinner and one ordered the salmon dinner. The entrees were good, well cooked and seasoned, but the side dishes were somewhat lacking. We were all supposed to get mashed potatoes with pan gravy and various other vegetables. We didn't get the full complement of vegetables and there was no gravy on the mashed potatoes. My husband asked for some gravy, and the waitress brought back a cup of brown liquid which he poured on the potatoes. It turned out to be maple syrup, and of course made the potatoes inedible. When he questioned the waitress, she checked with the cook, who said the kitchen had no gravy. Why the cook didn't say that up front instead of providing maple syrup, we'll never know! The waitress was very apologetic, and ended up comping my husband's dinner. But the cook staff was obviously not competent to handle the situation.
Great service and food. Felt welcome from the moment we arrived. Highly recommend.
I was very disappointed, especially since it was the Special Christmas Day menu. The pictures on line look much better than the restaurant itself. I thought I was taking my family to a higher end restaurant. The tables were sticky. They seated us at a table where someone just left so they were vacuuming as we sat when there were plenty of tables available. The food was average at best and definitely not worth the money. I would never go back or even think of referring friends.
Lovely place with delicious food and outstanding service
Thanks 1890 at Arcade ! We had an amazing time with our friends from California and Ohio with the best service and food ever 💙
We visited on a Sunday for brunch. I made reservations, but we didn't need them. We were seated immediately. Our table was lovely and we were brought water and drinks right away. Our server was very good to start. We needed some time before placing our orders. It took quite a while before she came back. The restaurant was not crowded, in fact, I believe we were her only table. The food was delicious! Everthing was as expected and there were generous portions. Again, it took time for us to get refills, which was disappointing. Our checks came and she did check us out in a timely manner. I would have given all 4 & 5's had our service been better.
We chose the breakfast buffet as we had to head for home early on a Sunday morning. It was super. The food was hot and there was a nice variety and the price was reasonable. The staff were all very helpful, attentive and friendly. It was a perfect ending to our trip to see the Eagles. We definitely would eat here again.
Restroom was closed for special event so we were told to go to the lobby restroom-lobby staff said we had to use restaurant restroom even after I told them what the restaurant told us. Poor communication between restaurant and lobby staff. Food was cold and appeared microwaved?
I'm glad you sent this email. The attendee did not ask me for my name to check into Open Table. I told her I wanted my points. I hope she did check me in after all.
The hostess Shantele is amazing!!!!
The hostess was very welcoming and the service was great. The food was absolutely delicious. We really enjoyed our meals and loved the location. We would definitely recommend and will be back!
Had a "business breakfast" in the private room. Great place for that. Good food. Good service. Apprpriate pricing. Only issue was that i specified that room in the open table reservation and called the restaurant to confirm (left a message), however, the restaurant was unaware that i specified that request when i got there. Fortunately, no one else was using it.
Nice restaurant, but a little expensive. we were a group of 11 people, they accomodate a lovely table for us, very private. The food was good but some delay in the serve it. I made a reservetion for 12 pm and when we arrived we were told that kitchen opens at 12:30 ,.. that was not good because we had other plans scheduled already.
It was a buffet the food was very, very good. Choices to accommodate everyone. We went for Mother's Day brunch we were presented with roses when we walked in the door, and very thoughtful and lovely touch . The hostess and the servers are very very nice and accommodating. A few of the things I remember, a lovely salmon, Lobster ravioli, fresh veggies, lots of fresh fruit, Fresh omelette station, was great and he was super nice, the prime rib station superb, he was so kind and gracious to all of us. Dessert was exceptional. Great small selection to please everyone taste, great chocolate cake, cheesecake, key lime pie, a couple other things I can't recall, but enough variety for everyone. The Ambiance is perfect in the arcade a lovely setting. I will definitely be going back.
We recently had Mother's Day brunch at 1890 at the Arcade and were very underwhelmed. The seating area in the Arcade was lovely, but felt a bit stark. There seemed to be one server in our area, which meant that water glasses weren't refilled and plates removed without prompting. We had a 12:30 reservation and by that time some of the food was looking tired and limp. In addition, there were items that weren't replaced when they were finished. Overall, not a good value for $44/adult.
Food was excellent. Great dining experience. Would recommend all try it at least once.
Good Easter spread.
We had a family Easter Brunch in The Arcade. The food was delicious and The Arcade was stunning. Valet parking was only $5. It was pricey, but you don't do Easter Brunch every day.
Way overpriced for what you get.
Quality of the food poor at best
We went here for "brunch" before a play at the square. Great food, service and ambiance.
We will come back for sure!
The waitstaff was very friendly. Although both my order and my companion's orders were initially messed up, the kitchen worked quickly to resolve the situation to my liking. I was very pleased with their response.
The food was great and the environment was great for a business conversation, however the service was incredibly slow. A downtown restaurant during the lunch crowd should be able to serve people within 45 minutes, not 90 minutes.
The restaurant and bar was empty at 12:30 p.m. when I arrived. The person I was meeting was sitting outside the entrance to the restaurant and told me she wasn't sure it was open---she had walked in and didn't see any diners or staff, so she waited for me outside. We walked in together all the way to the back of the restaurant where we saw the only table in the restaurant with customers. We still could not find any wait staff. Finally, someone came out of the kitchen, noticed us and seated us just as we were about to go elsewhere.
The person who finally took care of us was very good and very polite. But at 12:30 on a work day, 1890 was a ghost town. It was sad to see, really, given Cleveland's otherwise vibrant dining scene. At least you could have a conversation in the dead silence.
