Service was slow to start. The server was very nice. Terrible Bloody Mary- just tomato juice and vodka… the arcade is so beautiful it made up for the Bloody Mary :)
The food for a buffet was good, service a little slower than last time, which I take as lager crowds and fewer staff. I will return as I enjoy the dining and quality.
Thanksgiving on the road.
Host great & friendly
Server, not great but it’s thanksgiving so I appreciate her working.
Darlene. Just rough around the edges …. Needs more training on service levels. Forgot things I asked for.
Good presentation but would have liked bigger portions.
The desserts are just too small.
The food was well prepared and delicious. Our expectations were fully met. The options for the set Thanksgiving menu covered everything we would want. Add theOld Arcade as the environment, and you have a dining experience that can’t be beat!
Our Anniversary Brunch before the Browns game was top shelf. Food was great, the service was attentative, the staff made the day special. I can not say enough about everyone from the moment we entered till we left, made us feel like royalty. THANK YOU! My wife and I will come back again when we are in Cleveland for any event and need to grab a bite to eat. There are many many places to go and eat. so happy that we went here.
Great food and service.
Nice plate presentation.
I came for breakfast. Very simple menu but we enjoyed it and nice view of the Arcade.
Not worth the $15 for an omelette. We got breakfast in the city the next day and paid far less for better service and food
The staff was wonderful. They were very informative about the building the restaurant is located in which we had been very curious about. It is a very historical building. Due to the day of the week and the covid crisis the place was deserted. The hours were adjusted to only breakfast even though the gorgeous restaurant and lounge were sitting there unused. The food was top notch. We felt sad looking around and had a big discussion as to what this pandemic has done to different businesses.
For a Saturday morning during a pandemic, what can I say?? We went for breakfast, it was a very quiet morning. The actual venue, the arcade, was beautiful! The restaurant was nothing extra special or grand. The food was okay. The menu is limited bc of the pandemic, so it was pretty basic. The staff was wonderful!
Great atmosphere, food very good and service was excellent
My first time here. Nice location and setting. A little expensive for breakfast but nice location for a meeting and a meal.
I reserved the wine tasting room a month in advance for our Holiday office lunch at noon. I also called a week ahead to make sure we had that specific room and was assured it was ours. When we arrived they refused to seat us in that private room because a tasting was scheduled for 1:00pm, one hour after our reservation!
All of the food on our visit for breakfast was delicious particularly the avocado toast and the breakfast sandwich. The smoothies offered were very tasteful but the portions were way too small for the price.
Hosted 10 people for breakfast and everything exceeded my expectations which made a special event even better.
They put us in the private room - it's by the entrance but was quiet. The Staff were fantastic, friendly and knowledgeable. Was a very relaxed and enjoyable breakfast.
Magnificent place, good food and kind service, we would come back anytime!
We toured the Cleveland Public Library and then went here for lunch afterwards. It was a group of us and they put us at a nice round private table which was great since we wanted to talk about the tour. The service was great and the food delicious but hard to say too much about the food because most of us got a light lunch. I would recommend highly. It was great to be in the beautiful Arcade too! Thank you for a great lunch.
Did not opt for buffet as we wanted freshly cooked to order food and they used the cold, old hash browns, bacon and toast from the buffet for our meal.
I had the All American breakfast this morning. It was okay, nothing special. Scrambled eggs were a bit oily tasting. Service was friendly and good. Nice atmosphere.
Server was terrible. Took forever for everything. Even the other servers were confused at why he was taking so long. Several people that sat down after us ate and left before we even got our food.
We really enjoyed our breakfast at 1890 at the Arcade. Great service!
The smoothies were awful. The green one with avocados was weird and the berry one was way too bitter. The rest of the food was averagely best. It’s located in a pretty and historic location over a hundred years old. Unfortunately the restaurant furnishing seems as though it’s from that age as well. Would not recommend.
Absolutely a smashing great business lunch! I would recommend this restaurant to anyone.
Great location and and excellent breakfast. Please update the website directions so Google maps can find
GREAT People, food and setting! My family and I attended on a very busy day and it was not a problem!
I love this hidden gem! It has been around for years and really holds its own against the newer and other well-known restaurants around town. As a born and bred Clevelander, I would definitely recommend this restaurant to people visiting and from our home town.
Our daughter was married at the Arcade so we knew the food would be good. The price was very reasonable for an Easter brunch. I was told tables would be on the balcony, but we had a constant flow of people that had to pass our table...we were constantly pushing our chairs in to make room for servers and guests.
I have been very curious about 1890 walking by it frequently, and was very happy to try it. We enjoyed it and will be back.
Easy place to dine in the hotel. Were some issues with how long one dish came out but the food was good and the servers were nice.
Wonderful staff. Friendly and helpful. It was a lovely Valentine's Day dinner.
I have always loved this gem. I don't think a lot of downtown workers are aware of it, but I think the food is awesome and the waitstaff was very attention.
1890 was perfect for our luncheon board meeting. Quiet enough to carry on with business and the wait staff was great with the orders and left us alone during the meeting. Historic atmosphere of the building was a bonus.
The tough part about eating there is that you have to pay steep parking fees. If you have other business in the arcade this place is perfect
We had our Christmas dinner here and the food was good. Our server Lillian was awesome and made the overall experience more pleasant.
Granted, this was a Christmas Day dinner, but they had a special Christmas menu and should have been prepared to provide what was on the menu. Two of us ordered the chicken dinner and one ordered the salmon dinner. The entrees were good, well cooked and seasoned, but the side dishes were somewhat lacking. We were all supposed to get mashed potatoes with pan gravy and various other vegetables. We didn't get the full complement of vegetables and there was no gravy on the mashed potatoes. My husband asked for some gravy, and the waitress brought back a cup of brown liquid which he poured on the potatoes. It turned out to be maple syrup, and of course made the potatoes inedible. When he questioned the waitress, she checked with the cook, who said the kitchen had no gravy. Why the cook didn't say that up front instead of providing maple syrup, we'll never know! The waitress was very apologetic, and ended up comping my husband's dinner. But the cook staff was obviously not competent to handle the situation.
Great service and food. Felt welcome from the moment we arrived. Highly recommend.
I was very disappointed, especially since it was the Special Christmas Day menu. The pictures on line look much better than the restaurant itself. I thought I was taking my family to a higher end restaurant. The tables were sticky. They seated us at a table where someone just left so they were vacuuming as we sat when there were plenty of tables available. The food was average at best and definitely not worth the money. I would never go back or even think of referring friends.
Lovely place with delicious food and outstanding service
