Have enjoyed 1808 for several years. That said I can see a noticeable difference in the food and the help. After not going for almost a year, had dinner with friends 2 times last month. First time there was 6 in our group. I ordered my favorite, the petite beef tenderloin medallions, med rare. Also ordered the bread loaf with butter. When bread arrived it was a slab of rolls similar to Hawaiian rolls. Telling him I ordered the sourdough bread he told me it was no longer on menu. I feel he should have told us when it was ordered. Everyone’s food arrived and my meat was extremely well done and cold. He returned it to kitchen and I received it when most of our group was done eating. The medallions were thin and felt like the they had been in sous but not charred as a piece of meat should be. For dessert I ordered beignets and they were extremely greasy. There were several mistakes on our bill that was corrected when we pointed it out. Overall our waiter seemed new and a bit overwhelmed but was very pleasant. I have always loved this Bistro but maybe I was expecting too much. The rest of our group loved their meal. The 2nd time we went with a group of 8. I ordered salmon which was fine but the mashed potatoes were cold. I did not say anything. We waited what felt like longer than normal time for our food. I had to ask for water. Normally it’s just me and my husband and I’ve never had a complaint so maybe it’s larger groups they have a problem with. I realize the cost of food has gone up and they simply can’t maintain the quality of their menu at a reasonable price as they have in the past. I will continue to be a customer but will lower my expectations. I have always sang their praises until now. We are very lucky to have restaurant of their caliber in Delaware and they remain to best in town. My comments come from love.

Everything was amazing the food and the people but the best part was our server Tony this guy was a dedicated server he knew his food and was super pleasent and we enjoyed everything can’t wait to go back again it was our 45 th wedding anniversary

Fabulous cocktails and food was good, but not as good as they used to be. Bread service was warmed dinner rolls that were dry and appeared store bought. Mashed potatoes were completely un-seasoned. My steak and salad were very good and nothing was outright bad. I just think the details have declined, except that the cocktails were and still are top tier!

The service was excellent, the food was outstanding. Our one complaint : we wanted to order a side of bacon to accompany the French Toast, which oddly lacked any protein with it. The response was a polite no- we had to order an entire second entree just to have a couple slices of bacon. Disappointingly unreasonable.

My husband and I normally go here for dinner, which is always amazing. Their filet medallions and mashed potatoes are chefs kiss. Service is always top notch. But today we went and tried their brunch for the first time and WOW. Was not excepting it to be that good. My husband got the is quits and gravy and I got the French toast. The French toast was made from thick brioche bread and it was so soft and had so much flavor. And portions were big! Another great experience at 1808.

Food and drinks were great. It took over 5 minutes for anyone to come to our table. There were several open tables so it didn’t appear that the server was just busy. Not a great look for a first visit to a restaurant. The food was excellent, drinks were great. It picked up from there. Service was never remarkable, but adequate.

Other than waiting over 10 minutes for someone to acknowledge we were seated, food and service (afterwards) was great. We will definitely go back. Food was very good. Excellent value. We ordered the smashburger, shrimp &grits, and chicken pecan salad. All were excellent!

Excellent meal (scallops!) Very good service--one of our waitresses was training but she'll be very good. Great atmosphere. Highly recommended
