   We've been coming to 1808 for a number of years; it was always good, but not outstanding. Our dinner on Sunday was amazing - appetizers, main dishes and desserts - all off the charts. The server had raved about the pedigree of the chef. He must be relatively new as their game has really stepped up! We'll now come for the outstanding food, not only because the location is convenient.

   Easy to request a reservation via Open Table. Food was prepared exactly as requested. Our waiter was very polite and informative. This is not our first experience at 1808 and we will definitely go again.

   As always, the service, food and drinks were top notch. We love coming to 1808. The Cottage Pie was recommended by both bartenders and it was outstanding. Both bartenders that served us were friendly and attentive.

    Definitely recommend the beef dishes - twin tenderloin, Bavette steak, steak Frites, 24 hour short rib. I think the chef is best with these - oh - and the excellent Caesar salad. Great cocktails, too. When I dined at 1808 in February, I had the Schiitzel - which was dry and had little taste. Dont' recommend it unless sauce is added and the German potato salad is kicked up a LOT.

    Our service was amazing! And overall brunch was great however, I wish there were more “lunch” options. I believe in the past the burger was an option. Something along that line would be nice.

    1808 is back to the way it was pre-covid. Which is to say it was great! The food was outstanding, and the service was top notch! We haven't had a great dining experience like this in awhile. Our son and daughter in law from Cincinnati loved it as well. The ambiance, cleanliness and super friendly staff was the way I remembered 1808 before Covid hit. It's definitely one of our favorite restaurants and highly recommend!

    We order the filet medallions, they were just ok. I wasn’t a fan of the bacon and red pepper balsamic reduction and the steaks were to charred on the out side.

    Food was delicious and service was great! This has been a favorite restaurant for several years, but we have not been there for awhile. Some menu additions offer more dining flexibility, while the staples we've enjoyed on previous visits were still top notch.

    Caesar salad was fresh, crisp and delicious. The ribeye and scalloped potatoes and green beans were absolutely perfect. Noah our server was very helpful with great suggestions. We will most definitely be back!

    We dined at 1808 to celebrate our third wedding anniversary. We were immediately shown to our table and promptly greeted by our server. She even talked us into coming back the next day for brunch!! We had the pork schnitzel and the filet medallions. Absolutely wonderful!! Dessert was amazing (beignets and triple chocolate cheesecake). Can’t wait for brunch!!!

    Just...meh. Salad portions are small. Food was less than warm and we had to get items heated up-in the microwave. The waiter was terrible. We ordered bread with our meal...food came to the table without the bread. We reminded the waiter and still no bread. The table next to us had several complaints as well so I know it was not an unrealistic expectation, especially for the price. We has a better meal at the Oak and Brazen the night before.

    Quality of the entrees was the real issue. With a fairly limited menu, the cook staff needs to hit a home run every time. In particular, the German entree was very poorly done.

    Our server, Nathan (??) was superb! Attentive but not overly so. He provided excellent service and was friendly to boot! Sometime dinner out with my elderly parents can be a handful…this was the perfect celebratory evening out!

    Overall, great experience, excellent food. Reservations at 8:00 PM on a Friday, arrived at 8, sat immediately. The restaurant was busy and the service staff was hustling upon entry. Our waiter recognized we sat down and grabbed another server to quickly help out by greeting us and taking or drink order. After the drinks arrived we inquired about Gluten Free options and every accommodation was met or offered. We started with the Pork Belly (best thing on the menu according to the waiter), one of my favorite things period. Upon arrival the pork belly looked amazing. However, it had been seared so long that a crust developed around the pork belly with the hardness/consistency of a jaw breaker (chipped tooth stuff). We found the pork belly to be lackluster and a bit mushy (inside) despite the rock hard crust. However, we did enjoy the bed of marinated onions (I think) that the pork belly was paired with. We were a bit hesitant to order at this point but went with two of the waiters suggestions, the Bavette Steak Diane and Duck Breast. Wow! These entries were the best main courses we've had outside of a major city in a long time! Each of the flavors have been elevated by contained hints of comfort foods and childhood favorites. The cognac sauce with the Bavette was the perfect pairing and heaven on your pallet. The duck breast was cooked perfectly with a crispy seared crust (not like the pork belly) which sat on an amazing sauce with mixed Swiss chard. The chef is a master at his craft of pairing sauces and accompanying items! Make sure you put a little bit of everything on the plate each bite, the explosion of flavor of the pairings is top notch! You cannot go wrong with these two dishes! We will definitely make the drive again!

    Promptly shown to our table. Waitress was one of the best I’ve experienced; kind, generous, conversational and attentive. Food and drinks were also excellent (handmade cocktails here are well worth the visit; partial to the handmade margs). Favorable portion for whatever you order, and the recipes utilized are of fine-dining quality. Will absolutely be back!
